For those with Klebsiella urinary tract, I have found D-Mannose 500mg to be very helpful in keeping the bladder flushed out. It's natural, you can observe quickly if it's helping clear you... along w/ sipping diluted cranberry juice.

Also I am in USA.....primary doctors don't test for that normally in USA, they say the labs they use don't test for it an they don't know where to send it out to...so how can i find out if i have this or not? Should i go to an infectious disease doctor to get answers? If not I wonder what other condition would make you extremely drunk from food and even when not eating food, plus blurred eye sight at same time. Blood sugar is good, not diabetic. Besides cancer haven't been sick in over 20 years. My life is ruined and I am feeling sicker and sicker now...especially my gut...bloating, diahreah for 30 days, still on going, full when eating after a few bites..only tiny soft bowel movements once daily.. Did your doctors test by blood, stool or how? What kind of doctor was it? Thanks everyone.

Do you have a health plan? Are you a senior? Yes, you need immediate attention. Check your temperature. Go to urgent care if you have access to it. Do you also have urinary track symptoms? That's the easiest way to get medical to run a test. But seek medical help and if you can access an infectious disease specialist, it makes sense to investigate. Be Your Best Advocate. You are #1. 🙏

Hi, I have been struggling with Klebsiella Pneumonia infection in my bladder for 2 years; still fighting it! despite having been given 6 courses of Prophylactic Antibiotics. My urine clears up in the first few days of the treatment. But after a few weeks, and now only a couple weeks on the lower dose of Antibiotic, the infection is back. So with the last 3 antibiotic treatments, I have not been able to complete the treatment. Are there any other treatments I should be considering?

Just had this. On a 14 day course of Cephalexin 500 MG caps, 1 a day. Seems to be working. What did your doctor prescribe? If you have recurring UTIs, ask the Dr. about Methenamine. This is not an antibiotic, it acts to create a more hostile chemistry to UTIs so that they don't develop. FYI, you cannot take it while you are on antibiotics.

@@glennferrell2902 Hi Glenn, Thanks for your message and sharing your experience; it is extremely helpful to me!
I have been struggling with Klebsiella Pneumonia for two and a half years. Rotating the following antibiotics on prophylactic treatments, 3 months each time: Cefalexin, Trimethoprim, Nitrofurantoin. High dose for 5 days + low dose for the rest of the 3 months.
Finally for the last 3 treatments: Pevmecillinam 3 days + one of the antibiotics mentioned above, in a lower dose for the following 3 months. With these last 3 treatments the infection was back during the treatments, after app 15 / 18 days.
After speaking with the Microbiologists, my GP suggested, that after a short course of antibiotic, this time Cefalexin 250 mgs x 2 time daily for 7 days, I should take Methenamine 1 g / twice a day, in conjunction with 1000 mg Vitamin C Time Release.
For the first time, from this last treatment, I am infection free for now 6 Weeks (42 Days today).
I am not out of the woods yet, but it seems to be working! Fingers Crossed!

and, when I was first diagnosed with a UTI Klebsiella Pneumoniae, I was told it was antibiotic resistant, given no directional guidance except to go to ER if it got worse... so it perkolated, metastasized to my upper gut and created toxic lesions. Another urinalysis came back positive but fortunately, my doctor was on vacation, and her substitute wrote the prescription. I mentioned my concerns about having the bug for awhile, but he assured me the lab grew a culture and appeared Bactrim/Septra were effective... I hope so. I've been on the drugs for a week, and the abdominal pain is worsening, I hope the bug is dying and it's the damages from it I'm feeling and need to heal. Got one more week, by request, for antibiotics... they only prescribe a weeks worth and my research reveals it's usually 10-14 days ... so I'm glad I squeeked... and should I survive, I've initiated action to change health care plans.
