While we are all excited about the group comeback, I feel like they'll struggle more than usual with their cohesion (not synergy) after coming back together. Ofc album making process is never fun and games but now they have their own preferences and tastes solidified and literally all of them are distinct from each other. They'll be fighting a lot about what song to put and in what order. And i don't mean this in a negative way. I'm just saying it's interesting and I really look forward to what they come up with in the end.
I feel like their musical tastes were always this diverse. Their colours have been strengthened but their personal tastes were always leagues away from each other. It's the beauty of why we could get so many genres and vibes within a single album or between one album and the next.
For eg. Dis-ease, Blue and Grey, and Dynamite being on the same album is wild but they always make it works. Even Indigo was just RM having fun with genres from folk to city pop to 90s hiphop mixed with a touch of neo-soul. I think they'll manage just fine. It's like introducing an artist to a bunch of new colours to play with. I think they'll have fun merging sounds and vibes together and they can split the work easier by letting different members take the lead on different tracks that they might be stronger in.
It's gonna be so much fun for them. Not easy, I agree. But definitely a great new step. It seems like they're all looking forward to getting to make music together again and I suspect that a part of that is because they've gotten to see more sides of each other musically and that's got to be exciting.

Taemin’s episode is one of my favorites. I loved watching the three of them talking about music.
