The part where Anakin lets go of the lightsaber and catches it with his other hand, amazing.
And seconds later he cuts Dooku's hands. Why the crap did they cut that??!
The whole choreography was outstanding and incredibly well practiced by them.
@@cesarg4328 most likely cause an 80 year old Christopher Lee wasnt gonna do these lmao
@@Son-Monkey you do know they had stunt doubles... Right?
@@Anonymoususer78913 George Lucas wanted the actual actors to do the fight scenes. That's why you don't see stunt doubles doing the fights and then just editing in the faces.
@@Son-Monkey the entirety of Dooku’s duel is Ep 3 was using a double. You can even see him from the blooper real where Ewan flubbed “Sith Lords are our speciality”. Lee shot for the close ups but his face is superimposed on the double in action.

Exactly.
George Lucas had some idiotic decisions.

@@tedbenveniste412 it is.

this 58 second light saber duel was better then any of the Rey vs kylo Ren duels
The amount of practice and dedication they had when making these lightsaber duels in the prequel trilogy is just amazing.
You see none of that in the Disney trilogy where their lightsaber fights are just pathetic.
This 58 second duel imo is better then the entire franchises duels so far. This is insane it was cut.
Yes, I totally agree with on the 58 seconds. Imagine if they left the entire scene in.
Bro, the Obi-Wan vs Vader fight in
A New Hope on the Death Star is better
than the rey and Kylo duals.
To be fair to daisy and Adam, in the sequels they used heavier sabers that actually lit up to save time in vfx post production, while in the prequels they used lightweight rods that were much better for speed and better simulated the hypothetically weightless blade of a lightsaber.
Absolute perfection. I cant believe Hayden was given a hard time for this role in the past. The man was dedicated and brilliant! We couldnt have asked for a better Anakin.
I mean he was good at choreography. Dialogue on the other hand....
Most of the criticism should have been pointed at Lucas. Man is a terrible director and writer. Hayden had to work with god aweful dialog and direction.
@@fitshamer That wasn't his fault. Blame Lucas.
@@wheels4lyfe why to blame lucas for haydens bad acting and bad dialogue delivery? im sure u rnt even matured enough to understand what a good acting is, let me guess ur favourite actor is keanu reeves and he must be given oscar for all of his movies ?
@@fitshamer to be fair, the dialogue and acting/delivery in the originals was really corny also. After all, hasn’t George Lucas said that it’s modeled after soap opera style theater… but in space? Either way, like or dislike it, this dynamic is more on the director than the actor I think
0:47 This move is actually genius, because it shows that Anakin learned from his previous encounter(s) with Dooku and knows how to not get another of his hands chopped off. Too bad they didn't add this choreography to the movie.
This is some seriously great choreography
Yeah, it looks more sophisticated than what we saw in the movie.
Lowkey all of the behind the scenes prequel fights look cooler than the movie versions. Maybe it's just the novelty but they're fucking good
@@cloudmaster182 yea explains why the prequel lightsaber duels were the best in the saga
anyone notice how anakin jumps over dooku in 0:28 same way he jumps over obiwan on mustafar ? that wouldve been PERFECT foreshadowing if that was added in the movie
That would’ve been great!
I was about to comment the same thing. It would make so much more sense why Anakin would be so overconfident in his abilities to best Kenobi.
Hayden was legit smooth and methodical...what a talent
Dooku is considered one of the best duelist in the franchise, and this fight showed just how powerful and skillful Anakin is. More so then what we got in the ROTS.
Imagine practicing this shit for hours and hours for it to be deleted
As dope as the choreography they used in rots is I can’t imagine how they came to the conclusion to cut theses masterpieces from the movie in favour for more super zoomed in angles
Edit: I forgot to mention not only they robbed us of the full potential of rots also tpm and aotc had deleted footage that should have stayed
"no we need more time for walking and talking in front of green screens"
Lucas is his own worst enemy, like most creators. We can have something that is just so right, but we still feel it can be better. He also had too many yes men around that wouldn't challenge his last second changes, ie the Mace vs. Palpatine duel.
@@ScyllaIo look at starwars as a sort of carechter study of Lucas; in the 70s he's this bright eyed idealist working with Spielberg and Jim Henson right? Wants to overthrow the evil empire, He saves movies forever with starwars and everyone calls him a genius. Fast forward to the prequels, George Lucas is the prodigal son returned. Older, supposedly wiser, and supposedly the GOAT. He fills his movies up with all the things he loves and then all the powers that be hyping him up in the first place turn on him. Try to make him recant, hold him back. Fail to recognize his brilliance. But the evil empire that he hated as a young rebel? No, they encourage him. They want his power, care very little for his vision. So he joins Disney, plunging his galaxy into chaos and ruin. Go to the sequels and where is the wide eyed idealist now? A jaded old man in exile lamenting his failures.

@@rikusauske spot on dude. He is Jake Skywalker, licking his wounds in regret and sucking on the green milk. Or was it blue ? Bah, who even cares
I miss this lightsabers duel style
Same.
Lightsabers are just iron stuffs nowdays
There needs to be a Revenge of the Sith director’s cut… after we collectively pressure Disney to sell the IP back to George Lucas of course.
I'm pretty sure Lucas is very happy without Star Wars on his hands
We march on Disney headquarters, we will catch them off balance
Lucas sold starwars as revenge for what everyone said about the prequels
Supposedly their is a cut in a vault that's like 6hrs long. Never seen it only heard romors. 😂.
I doubt George wants it back
Pretty amazing how Hayden was legitimately as good as the stunt man.
The way Anakin backhanded Dooku in the face is so well done, it practically show up on the ROTS game of the movie with the same name.
This really does make him the most violent Jedi/force user to ever exist in Cinema, his dark tendencies are at their maximum.
This is so insane. If anyone has read the ROTS novelization, you'd get a more intense retelling of this fight. Especially when it reveals Dooku's thoughts as he went from being arrogant to worried as their duel went on and Anakin would continuously one up him. This deleted scene perfectly conveys the intensity that progressed. Revenge of the Sith extended edition when? 😅
Edit: Some of the moves here like Anakin's punch looks like it was directly ripped and placed into the ROTS ps2 game, which is really sick.
Hayden was so good at the fight scenes, same with ewan. No wonder why the duel on mustafar is so iconic
Hayden is so good with sword play. It’s a fucking treat and a disaster we didn’t get to see this fight in a wide shot.
Man I love Dooku's fighting style so much
I don't understand why Hayden was so disliked. He played his role perfectly, and such videos show how he tried to get used to this role. Yes, there are love dialogues in episode 2, where you want to die of shame, but isn't Lucas to blame for the crooked dialogues, the actor has nothing to do with it.
Exactly, Hayden was not at fault
Wow I'm so mindblown right now 🤯
Hayden is probably a Jedi irl lmao. Dude has got some serious skills holy shit
13 cuts in a minute long fight that would have traversed the entire bridge of the ship, compared to the dozens of cuts we get in sequel duels and in Disney shows. Personally glad they didn’t go with this version of the duel only because dooku is fighting completely different than how we saw in episode 2 and keeps using two handed strikes while not holding his footing compared to his fencing style from episode 2 and clone wars, but this deleted fight that they didn’t even bother to add in the blade effects was still miles ahead of anything Disney has put out with their huge budgets
Now this- this right here is the anakin that could beat anyone. People ask for my argument a to why hes the best duelist, this right here.
Pfffffffffffft. Who won on Mustafar again? Who was left a crippled burnt piece of flesh at the end of the movie?
@@MrZackavellihe was conflicted
@Football.Fan. So? If Anakin is conflicted, then that's his fault. You think Obi-Wan wasn't conflicted? His entire Order had just been wiped out and now he has to fight and kill his best friend.
@@MrZackavelli Umm obiwan specialsied in the defensive style and he knew anakin personally for years and knew his favorite combos and moves
And people say it was over-choreographed...
Im watching this vid altogether with the Duel of the fates playing in the backgrounsd.
Nice!
This is the finest lightsaber duels I have ever seen it would have been epic if this was in the final theatrical cut Anakin is truly one of the greatest swordsmen in the clone wars timeline
This looked awesome. Ive always liked Dooku's lightsaber style and wish we had got to see more of it.
Man, Dooku is so elegant!
This is super clean and you can even see there are parts where they aren’t going full speed. I like the final cut but the idea of a true 1v1 with Dooku is so much better.
That part where he threw his lightsaber, dodged a blade to his arm and catched his saber again with his other hand. Mad skills.
i couldnt even make a complete sentence watching this, it was just "OOOH, OH MY G- OH DAMN HE JU- HOLY SHIT", I pray theres just, some insane gifted former disney vfx artist out there thatll someday take all of this, and recreate everything that was cut to fit into the film.
This is some great choreography. I really wish they used some of this deleted choreography.
The way he threw the lightsaber then grabbed it with his other hand is the opposite to Ep 2
0:44 we really need to this in live action Star Wars movie or show with Hayden someday.
This honestly looks like a clone wars engagement
That's way too choreographed, they should've kept the part where Anakin let go of his lightsaber only to catch it though.
I hope they planned to speed that up... Because some of those moves looked like Hayden literally positioned his saber in a defensive/blocking position, and just waited a couple seconds for Nick to attack, just so that he could parry
The Anakin vs dooku that we got is good enough. We need this for mace vs sidious
What I love about the prequels were the art of fighting with saber
Unlike Rey frighting style
Phenomenal. I understand why they chose not to include this epic duel. This duel set the bar too high with Anakin’s epic move and complete domination.
Each new duel is supposed to be greater than the next. The movie was better with a balance of power between Anakin & Dooku. Darkside fueled Anakin overpowered Dooku.
Bro this so good 🥶⚔
This is what fans paid for and this was the one taken out.
I hate Star Wars for what it isn't and what it could have been! So much lost potential! This was amazing.
0:06 - Ok, that was awesome
0:17 - Yeah, but why did he grab the lightsaber blade?
0:41 Holy fuck, was Anakin meant to burn Dooku's eye?
A part of me wishes that this fight was kept in. The fact that Anakin’s kinda fighting dirty (at least in the context of the movies, because idk about the cartoon series.) would’ve added more towards his descent into the Darkside.
Probably to show that while Dooku was a great duelist, his opponent was someone not only younger, but also physically stronger than him. Plus, Anakin was after payback for his severed arm
0:17 anakin burns his hand off by grabbing his own saber blade!
A deleted fight scene is better than 3 whole movies. Goddammit disney!
0:44 Dang! Wish this in the movie!!!
Hayden is a hell of an athlete.
We were robbed but what we got is still actually great. The mace and Jedi vs palpetine tho was a total missed opportunity because that fight just doesn’t hold up the same like it first did and it’s cuz the choreography is clunky cuz Ian was too told they needed that stunt double woulda made the movie so much better if that scene lived up to its potential
Holy Sheev.. this is amazing!
Even tho this is really impressive, there's still one problem. Dooku in this scene isn't using his signature curved lightsaber, and it plays a large part in Dooku play style. If he was using the curved one then the whole fight wouldn't make sense
On another note, the level of disrespect with that punch💀
That is one of the greatest match I have ever seen in the entire star wars. Why did they cut that?? :(
This IS a true Lightsaber duel, not the Disney crap.
Disney Wars is not star wars. All they bought was the rights to use the same logo. The soul is gone.
Anakin Skywalker aka Darth, Vader, my best favorite idol,,, idoL,, 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Terrific!
So he beat the Count in an alternate timeline ?🤔 interesting
Lol
I like this because you can see where he got his arrogant flip over obi wan from in the mustache battle. He does it in a miniature way here, thinking that if it worked with dooku at that level of power, now that he’s tapped into the dark side he should be stronger. In which he attempts the front flip over obi wan essentially ending a akin for good
Lucas was really spittin back then😞
And we didn’t even know it
Just need some music and sound effects and this will go from 10/10 to 11/10
That would’ve been insaneeee
なぜこの素晴らしいの一言でしかない殺陣を映画にしなかった
Я настолько преисполнился что мое воображение допиливает звук световых мечей, также момент с отрубленной рукой очень хорошо проработан, энакин ошибки бы не повторил) I get used to sound effect of lightsabers so much that my mind apply it in those scenes perfectly. Also moment of trying to cut hand again in battle as it was in second prequel was brilliant, sadly it didint made onto whole movie. Sry for grammars
And he was still defeated by obiwan, goes to show how good obiwsn us
Why didn't we see this in revenge of the sith?
Because the original cut was 4 hours long. George can't keep every single frame of footage into theaters.
I partly understand why it got cut out. This duel would be way too long and full of unecessary flourish. Like the punch in the face and the huge amount of spins - seriously, Anakin look like a ballet dancer at 0:11
At same time, i wish they had preserved part of it, like his flip at 0:28 and of course that awesome hand change at 0:44. These are points that not only look cool, but also build Anakin growth as a character and set up his demise in the future.
Thank you.
God, Damn that was amazing
Honestly, I like the one we got in the film. This looks far too choreographed and rehearsed.
They did absolutely none of this for the new movies.
It’s like ballerina, but for us.
Prequels had crazy fight choreography, Ewan McGregor & Hayden worked really had.
Even in Obi Wan series they were practiced like they are shooting prequels. 🫡
sheeesh that was clean
Wish that wasn't deleted. That was cool.
I really wish they would've shown more in the movie to prove beyond a doubt that Anakin was the single best duelist in the galaxy. What if instead of disarming Mace, Anakin only stopped his blade and then engaged him in lightsaber battle . This would have 1) shown Anakin was the strongest duelist because he has now beaten the guy who beat Palpatine and 2) this would've given Palpatine a chance to really turn Anakin. His turn was way too sudden. Imagine Palaptine egging him on as Anakin battles Mace and he slowly begins to tap deeper and deeper into the dark side in desperation to overcome Mace. By the end of the battle, Anakin has killed Mace and now has Sith yellow eyes.
That's a much worse version.
1) Anakin is not the best duelist in the galaxy. Who is the one who won on Mustafar again?
2) Anakin having a prolonged duel with Mace is dumb. Anakin had a knee-jerk reaction out of pure panic and acted rashly when he cut off Mace's hand. After this, Anakin feels he has no place to go and so he feels he has no choice but to join Palpatine.
All of that would be undone with a prolonged duel with Mace.
@@MrZackavelli 1) Obi Wan didn’t win that fight by out dueling Anakin- he won because Anakin got too cocky and tried to flip over him. That’s not even up for debate- the entire fight clearly alluded to the fact that Anakin was the better fighter. Not to mention Anakin easily defeated Count Dooku who stalemated Yoda just a few years prior the battle. He is at the time of his fall canonically the best duelist in the Jedi
Order with maybe the exception of Mace Windu- henceforth my comment above for having a fight between them and settling it.
2) Sure he joins Palpatine because he has no where left to go but he goes from “what have I done 😩” to slaughtering
younglings within an hour. There is zero progression or buildup to that version of Anakin, it’s like he just turned a switch. Embracing the dark side for a moment (as repeatedly shown across all SE media) doesn’t immediately turn you into a sociopathic rage monster. So to address the gaping plot hole, a sequence showing Anakin getting more and more desperate to save Padme and actually being turned to the dark side would be a much better and more believable character progression than we got.
3) the original script of Ep. III actually had Anakin and Mace dueling but it was edited out because they needed to trim some time and they didn’t want to have too many lightsaber battles in the last third of the movie. So the only reason we have this version of the movie is because of time constraints and costs- not the actual story.
@@emperormouse5487 "1) Obi Wan didn’t win that fight by out dueling Anakin- he won because Anakin got too cocky and tried to flip over him. That’s not even up for debate-"
Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffft. Excuses, excuses. Obi-Wan won, Anakin lost. You can give a million BS excuses for why Anakin "was actually better even though he lost", but it doesn't change the outcome.
"the entire fight clearly alluded to the fact that Anakin was the better fighter."
It absolutely does not. Obi-Wan is the master of defense. He played Anakin like a fiddle and just waited him out. Ali did it all the time.
"Not to mention Anakin easily defeated Count Dooku"
Easily? Dooku from the very beginning wasn't trying to kill either of them (and let's not forget that this was a 2 on 1 fight). If Dooku had no ulterior motives and was trying to kill both of them from the very beginning, it'd be a different story.
"Count Dooku who stalemated Yoda just a few years prior the battle"
Wrong again. That was not a stalemate at all. They start going at it, and Dooku sees that Yoda is superior, so he creates a distraction and retreats. This does not fit the definition of a "stalemate".
"He is at the time of his fall canonically the best duelist in the Jedi"
Again, who was left a crippled burnt piece of flesh on a hillside at the end of the movie? Who was handicapped and disfigured for the rest of his life?
"Order with maybe the exception of Mace Windu- henceforth my comment above for having a fight between them and settling it. "
Neither of them are better than Yoda.
"2) Sure he joins Palpatine because he has no where left to go but he goes from “what have I done 😩” to slaughtering
younglings within an hour. There is zero progression or buildup to that version of Anakin, it’s like he just turned a switch. So to address the gaping plot hole, a sequence showing Anakin getting more and more desperate to save Padme and actually being turned to the dark side would be a much better and more believable character progression than we got."
You're leaving out like 99% of the context. You're painting the picture that Anakin enjoyed slaughtering younglings and does it of his own free will. In Anakin's mind, he has nowhere to go. He has just had a hand in the murder of a senior council member. He can't go back to the Jedi, so he joins Palpatine. In order to harness the true power of the dark side and maximize the chance of saving Padme's life, Anakin has to completely submit to the dark side. He can't hesitate, and he can't show any mercy.
Anakin has to kill the younglings *because* it is so incredibly painful for him. It's like Thanos having to sacrifice Gamora to get the soul stone. You see the look on Anakin's face just before he ignites his saber and it's absolutely filled with regret (along with the crying later on). Not to mention that Sidious has pulled this on his apprentices before. They have to commit an act that is painful for them in order to harness the power of the dark side. It's a baptism by fire. He does the same thing with Dooku when Palpatine orders him to kill Yaddle.
George's version is much better than yours.
"the original script of Ep. III actually had Anakin and Mace dueling but it was edited out"
Wrong again. The original script had Anakin present and Palpatine uses Anakin's lightsaber. There was nothing in it about Mace and Anakin going at it.
@@MrZackavelli I really wish I had the time to respond to every (frankly ridiculous point you made) but I won't be able to give you a proper response for at least another week.

"Oh Count Dooku he only lost because he wasn't even trying".
"There was no stalemate, Count Dooku saw how powerful Yoda was and decided to run away."
"Anakin killing younglings was so emotional for him and his face is filled with regret and sadness.."
Bro do you even hear yourself. You're out here just wildly throwing out statements that have ZERO backing- it's all just wild conjecture. 😂 I mention the Anakin & Obi Wan fight where it is clear as day alluded to the that Anakin lost because of his hubris. Even at the end of their fight Obi Wan tells Anakin "don't try it" which is preceeded by Anakin literally saying "you underestimate my power". I mean- you have to be dense to not realize that the movie wants you to think that Anakin lost because of his own overinflated ego- not because he was outdueled. The whole fight Anakin was handing Obi-Wan's ass on silver platter. He kept overwhelming him and Obi Wan kept having to retreat. Obi Wan is not the agressor one time. He does not make ground once. The movie makes that CLEAR AS DAY.
All I'm saying is keep it consistent. You can't clown on me for my "opinion" which seems to be in line with exactly what the movie wants you to think and then give your own highly subjective viewpoints of every other fight.
Your logic is like saying Padawan ObiWan was a better duelist than Darth Maul just because at the end Darth Maul was cut in half and Obi-Wan was left standing. TF he was. He got his lightsaber disarmed and pushed into a reactor shaft. All Darth Maul had to do was force push him down and it's over. Instead he sat there toying with him- hence why he lost. Now if Anakin doesn't make that stupid ass jump- he wouldn't have died. It's that simple. Neither of those times Obi-Wan came out on top were because he was the better duelist. That's literally all my point was trying to say. Anakin was the better DUELIST. Darth Maul was the better duelist. They were both just idiots and underestimated their enemy.
Here's another thing to consider- Obi Wan defeats Anakin and then Vader again in the Obi Wan show, yet Vader never looses a fight to another Jedi ever until Luke. Like if you read the comics- Vader is out there doing stuff like destorying 6 Jedi Masters battling him at once. Have you ever considered that Vader loses to Obi Wan precisely because Obi-Wan knows his fighting style so well? Because Obi-Wan knows him so well? This isn't wild conjecture as again they make a point of showing that sparring training between Obi Wan and Anankin followed by Obi-Wan predicting Vader's next move.
None of that has anything to do with Obi-Wan being a better overall duelist. He's just singularily suited to defeating Anakin because he literally knows how he thinks having been his master for 20 years.
Oh and George's version is absolute dogshit. Not just of this one scene- I mean all 5 of his Star Wars movies (unsurprisngly the only one not directed by him, Empire Strikes Back, just so happens to be the best one). What he did was create one of the most unique, amazing universes ever dreamt of. That's why people go see Star Wars. It's the universe. Not the poorly written B-rom plot with soap opera acting. The movies are objectively hot garbage. The prequels are a guilty pleasure of mine- like buying garbage sports venue pizza. It's absolutely terrible- but you still love it.

Well, anytime you're ready.
"However, I will point out that you tore down my "Anakin was a better fighter and lost because of cockiness" and proceeded to give excuses to every single fight you mentioned."
I wasn't making excuses about anything. I am providing proper context to events that you clearly misrepresented. If someone were to say "Star Wars is just a rip-off of Star Trek", would you be 'making excuses' if you point out how wrong they are?
"Oh Count Dooku he only lost because he wasn't even trying".
Except that that's *exactly* what happened. Dooku is not trying to kill Anakin. Him and Sidious are conspiring to turn Anakin to the dark side, not kill him.
""There was no stalemate, Count Dooku saw how powerful Yoda was and decided to run away." "
I'm sorry, who am I making excuses for with this one? Yoda? Dooku?
""Anakin killing younglings was so emotional for him and his face is filled with regret and sadness.." "
If someone has to explain this to you, then you're just watching movies wrong. I don't know how else to phrase it.
"I mention the Anakin & Obi Wan fight where it is clear as day alluded to the that Anakin lost because of his hubris."
1) "To the that" ? Could you proof-read your writing before you post?
2) Yeah, Anakin LOST. Has there ever been a single instance in history in which two competitors are competing against each other, one wins, but the win is revoked because it's decided later that "everyone knows the other guy was better, so he's the victor even though he lost" ? Ever? Didn't think so. You've clearly never heard of the expression "That's why they play the games".
"Even at the end of their fight Obi Wan tells Anakin "don't try it" which is preceeded by Anakin literally saying "you underestimate my power""
Literally? Literally saying "you underestimate my power" ? As opposed to figuratively? 'Literally' is so bloody overused these days, it's the most annoying thing ever.
"I mean- you have to be dense to not realize that the movie wants you to think that Anakin lost because of his own overinflated ego- not because he was outdueled."
Anakin and Obi-Wan are in a duel. The duel ends with one having 3 limbs severed and being burned alive and the other one leaving without a scratch. How does this not count as getting outdueled? If Anakin lets his hubris blind him, then that's a flaw of Anakin's. If you let your own personal traits be the difference between winning and losing, then you don't deserve to win. It's not like Anakin was outnumbered, it's not like some big rock came flying out of nowhere and hit Anakin on the head and Obi-Wan just capitalized when Anakin was dazed.
"The whole fight Anakin was handing Obi-Wan's ass on silver platter. He kept overwhelming him and Obi Wan kept having to retreat. Obi Wan is not the agressor one time. He does not make ground once. The movie makes that CLEAR AS DAY. "
This is clearly Obi-Wan's plan. In Star Wars, Obi-Wan uses a fighting style known as Sorensu. It is based around pure defense in which you wait your opponent out until they either get too tired or too frustrated, and then you capitalize. You ever watch boxing? You ever hear of rope-a-dope? Muhammad Ali did this all the time. Was Foreman declared the winner of the Rumble in the Jungle because Ali let Foreman be the aggressor while Ali just sat against the ropes taking Foreman's punches? Of course not. Ali knocked Foreman out. Er go, Ali won. The decision wasn't reversed because the judges decided "Ehh, Foreman was clearly the aggressor the entire fight, so we're going to give him the win."
"Your logic is like saying Padawan ObiWan was a better duelist than Darth Maul just because at the end Darth Maul was cut in half and Obi-Wan was left standing."
WHO WON THE FIGHT? WHO GOT CUT IN HALF? WHO WALKED OUT WITH THEIR LOWER END STILL IN TACT?
The logic of "the guy that got cut in half obviously won the fight" is just asinine, plain and simple. Maul let his arrogance blind him, just like Anakin. If you let your arrogance blind you and your opponent makes you pay for it, then you are NOT the winner. You are the loser.
"All Darth Maul had to do was force push him down and it's over."
Yeah, did he do that? Nnnnnnnnnnope. Er go, Maul lost. You ever see any of those "why you should never celebrate too early" videos? Do yourself a favor, go watch a few. You might understand my point better if you do.
"Now if Anakin doesn't make that stupid ass jump- he wouldn't have died."
But he did. Therefore, Anakin lost, and Obi-Wan won.
"Neither of those times Obi-Wan came out on top were because he was the better duelist."
Maul and Obi-Wan enter into a duel. Maul gets chopped in half. Obi-Wan walks out the same way he walked in. There was a duel, one of them won, one of them lost. The guy who won is the superior duelist. That's the reason he won.
Anakin and Obi-Wan enter into a duel. Anakin gets 3 limbs severed and burned alive. Obi-Wan walks out the same way he walked in. There was a duel, one of them won, one of them lost. The guy who won is the superior duelist. That's the reason he won.
"That's literally all my point was trying to say."
1) Jesus, again with the 'literally's.
2) A point doesn't do the "saying". You do. The point is a result of your "saying".
"Anakin was the better DUELIST. Darth Maul was the better duelist. They were both just idiots and underestimated their enemy."
Yeah, that means they weren't the better duelist. If you're an idiot, then that's a big flaw in your skillset. Did the Seahawks win Super Bowl XLIX because the refs decided "eh, the Seahawks were stupid to throw the ball instead of giving it to Marshawn Lynch, but we're still going to give them the trophy" ?
that was sick
I like this one more
What could've been. 😢
Damn Hayden is going for it.
That’s why I say prequel lightsaber duel are the best
I can see why it isn't used, you would have had to have had a digital CL head in the final cut and up close in the shot, I don't think his digi double would be that great with 2005 vfx.
If vader had that mobility. The whole jedi is just fucked no? Thoughts?
Why would they delete this 🥲
But why??? Why did all those badass deleted scenes not included? The mace windu and this scene. The swordsmanship in episode 1-3 is superior compared to other saber duels from other films/series. I was disappointed in the lightsaber duels in episode 7-9 it’s so lackluster.
Very true!
This is outrageous! It's unfair! How can you be a total badass and not have your fight scenes left uncut?
Take a seat, Young actor *stares menacingly*
@@legoslash4799 Forgive me, Master.
This is simply beautiful. It shows just how dark Anakin was getting and how much better he got between AotC and RotS. Burning his eye?? Damn!! Also, the dodging Dooku’s lightsaber cut and recatching his own was smooth af!!
That's a banned move for both the Jedi and the Sith though...
@@ken33935 which is stupid because what are you supposed to do in that situation? Just let your hands get cut off?
@@ken33935 Turning it off and on again is. Letting go of it like that for a second is not.
Both are very good hitting blades. Not so good to finish battle🤣
@@sloreo8278 let me guess it’s something about “honor”?
while it is said multiple times and shown pretty well, this would really nail home the fact that anakin is one of the best lightsaber duelists in the order. he is not only keeping up with dooku but he is outwitting him mid-battle and performing very visually pleasing and complex moves. that "let go" thing he did is very much in character for him, in addition to the fact that he burned dooku's eye here.
It was very well written in the book based on RoTS scenario. Dooku for most of the fight thought that, he was playing with Anaking, just to realize that, Anakin was the one who played with him from the start.
But yet Anakin struggled against Doku in The Clone Wars...
@@shizukagozen777 you do know that this is AFTER the clone wars right? And that anakin grows in skill very quickly right?
@@youngmaster7405
Yes. 🙃
Anakin toying with Dooku, burning his eye, literally disarming him and then cutting his head off. This is massacre.
0:27 I really like this shot setting up the moment later where he tries this against Obi-Wan and gets his limbs severed for it. It shows how arrogant and overconfident Anakin has become, showing off just for the sake of it.
Cannot pull stuff like that on Obi Wan, the dudes defense is tight. Also he trained Anakin so I'm pretty sure he knew his style and was much more familiar with his shenanigans during battle than anyone else
wouldve been a great oppurtunity for visual story telling, we were robbed
@@ooperblownup Anakin did the same jump before the high ground scene when he jumped over him to get on the same floating platform. The reason Kenobi was able to get Anakin for the high ground scene is because Kenobi baited Anakin into trying to do the same move that Kenobi used against Maul.
Hayden is so GREAT! God damn it. He moves like he is a real lightsaber fighter. And the fact that he is doing all this choreography by himself is obsolete nuts. Really great job.
Hayden is definitely amazing
A lot of people are commentating on the moment when Anakin drops the saber (and with good reason), but I love the blade lock where Anakin pushes his saber into Dooku's face. It shows the sheer overwhelming physical power Anakin's style had, even before he became Vader. Vader didn't have a totally different dueling style to Anakin, it just emphasized what was already there.
Hands down Hayden is the best lightsaber fighter in star wars among all other cast members. Nobody wields it as artistically as him.
Yeah, but Ewan McGregor made his own lightsaber noises, so I'd say they're about the same.
Hands down huh sounds about right
Hayden’s job on the choreographies are pure and perfect! I think he was the best actor in the SW universe.
One deleted scene is better than whole Disney movies together
Not gonna lie the cinematographer who did this scene was on top of his work 😊
I knew he was good at this stuff but damn, Hayden's a total badass.
This scene perfectly displayed Anakin's overconfidence in his abilities yet how polished he actually is despite his overconfidence.
It looked as if this duel was Anakin telling Count Dooku, "Anything you can do I can do better. Every wound you've inflicted on me, I will do so to you..." All up to the very point where Anakin was to decide his fate.
Arrest Dooku: Path of Jedi
Kill Dooku: Path of Sith
This duel was perfection. A shame we didn't actually get to see it.
Forget Anakin Skywalker, even Hayden looks more skillful and intimidating than Rey and Kylo Ren lol.
The back handed punch is just Anakin playing with Dooku for what he did to him instead of finishing him off outright. It is a perfect representation of his character, also something quite inconventional for a Jedi, in line with his darker attire and why the Council wished to keep him from attaining the rank of master at that point in the story.
Ironically Anakin would have become a master if he just stayed where he was instead of going after Mace Windu. And Padme would have lived.
Hayden was DEDICATED.
how in the world do we go from this to kylo and Rey....they need to put more value on these duels again like they use too. remember obi wan vs maul wow!
Exactly, these deleted scenes are so much better!
2015-2019 Will be considered the dark ages of star wars cinematography
Obi Wan vs Maul was a sick duel, I like all the ROTS duels as well, except the Palpatine ones, they were atrocious lol, the original choreography for them in the deleted scenes were really badass from what I can tell
@@joeyjones9041 agreed I saw those cut scenes too. def missed out because of some last minute idea
