Beloved Thay and you are beautiful souls who have enriched so many lives, including my own. I endeavour to be a worthy continuation of you both. All my love.

I remember visiting the Blue Cliff Monastery years ago on a very cold winter day and seeing you walking up a flight of stairs holding a pot of water. So humble are you. Yet such a powerful force of good. You turned so much Mud into so many Lotuses.

Dear Sister Dang Nghiem. I am a fellow practitioner of Thay's teachings & was blessed to attend several Mindfulness Retreats at Deer Park Monastery. My beloved husband of 27 years committed suicide 10/18/21 after his infidelity was discovered. His shame was great. I miss him very much. May someone reading this realize that Love is stronger & deeper than shame. Take the chance to talk. My sorrow has had me eating unmindfully, animals I have not eaten in 20 & 30 years. I don't completely understand this act of sorrow & anger, but you are reminding me to come back to my mindfulness practice & to eat mindfully in a way that induces & nurture peace in me. Thank you

Thank you so much, Sister, for sharing your deepest thoughts on such a difficult and personal subject. May the beautiful thoughts and practical advice form positive seeds that blossom wherever they are needed. This reminds me of a poem by Rumi “I wish I could show you,
When you are lonely or in darkness, The Astonishing Light, Of your own Being!”

Thank you Sister D ❤ From first day I had the good fortune of having you as my dharma family sharing group leader in the grief group at Magnolia Grove in 2013, your example of sitting tall and peaceful through everything, I have learned so much even without words. But your books and your talks continue to create healing for me.

Sister thank you for your kindness, through your pain I heal mine. Only a soul that has experience such pain can really help heal others❤ I’m forever grateful and I feel this is the beginning of my Buddhist journey, may I too find purpose and compassion in all our hidden pain and sorrows.

Dear Sister Dang Nghiem since the moment I heard you speak and describe the bowl inviter not a striker, your words have been a balm. I suffered for the first seventeen years of my life directly from abuse from multiple family members which included multiple incest pregnancies. My life has been one of healing opportunities. One of my most blessed memories is of being in the presence of Thich Nhat Hanh during a talk in Vermont. It's these moments that have lifted me up to believe beyond duality and see how precious life can be. Enlightened and empowering. Peace is found in presence. Blessed beloved one.

Although we have been taught our thoughts do not make us who we are , it’s sometimes very difficult separate our self from the self .it can seem like a battle between good and evil within ourselves .I do feel if our basic early early basic learning becomes impacted by the actions of those around us ..we have to learn to forgive those who hurt us and begin to heal ourselves , which can take a life time .to be honest we soon learn that we don’t have a false self because , we see through illusion of ego .we are able to clearly see others living this way and this makes us feel different because we believe they are free of pain .The difference is they are medicating themselves with the actions of ego where we are in the raw place and feeling everything .

I can’t tolerate another day. It doesn’t get better. I’ve waited for it to get better for so many years.
I can’t even go to the monastery for peace and rest.

I have suicidal ideation and complex trauma. Its chronic with me started when i was 14. Im a sexual abuse survivor. Most survivors have ideation and many do it. Sexual abuse is awful and ppl are in complete denial about it. Its all over the place its part of our country it steals lives.
