I would not RECOMMEND THIS EVENT😂
So it’s the lego equivalent of dash-con
Thanks for the heads up I see an advertisement on FB for it. I’ll pass
I went to it and had a good time. Maybe it was last year, I don’t know what happened to it now.
I wish I had seen this. Just went to the WA state one and it was such a scam
@@Managamasplymiad sorrry feels bad
I saw a quick commercial that made this look like a huge Lego event and I almost spent like $120 on tickets alone 😂 Thank you for posting this!
Yikes. That event looked like it was thrown together two hours before it opened.
Honestly felt like it
@@willbricksproductions That's exactly what ours looked like.
I just went to the one in Puyallup, Washington and it was horrible. Showed up 45 minutes before tem am. All of sudden after waiting in line another line opened up and new comers were getting in faster. It's bullshit. However the staff were nice at the door, got VIP passes and then tons of people and kids without VIP passes were just walking around and the vip was so long, it was stupid! Worse idea ever. The dude in Pennsylvania should just shut it down and the real experience would be going to Denmark where it originally came from. Such bullshit!
Just don't do it. The only cool thing about it was meeting first season contestants and is a really cool guy! The winner's of first season sucked. However I was excited to meet Nestor and Manny. Nestor, he's got a great, personality. I'm glad they took the time to do the meet. He doesn't like beard competition but he's a good man for pointing that out to me and I'll never forget that. Don't buy the Legos there, they'll charge you up to 10$ more for a set as LEGO is not affiliated with brickfest. It's a tiny/large scam. VIP line was so long... I could've built the stupid line to vip with the tent
It’s scam I reported it to Legos legal team so they should be getting banned and suspended from doing anything with Lego
I was about to buy tickets, but not much info or pics on the website. Thanks for making this video!
Your welcome
I just went to the one in Edison, NJ. It was my first Lego Convention. We paid $92 the day of the convention. I got a laminated lanyard, a pin, and also waited in a long line to Make a 2 minute Lego build. Everything was the same as the video stated 🤦♀️. With the exception on the SJ Lug being there.
Same😢
We just went to Brick Universe 2023 in Raleigh NC today (Sun 6/25/23). We took our 6 1/2 year old grandson and we all loved it! Tickets were only $15 and it was well worth it. Great displays, the main creators and artists were there so you could talk to them at their tables, activity zone where kids and adults could build Lego items, and good vendors. Watch for Brick Universe when it comes to your city.
I went to the one in Austin this weekend and can confirm they had the exact same displays shown in this video... huge disappointment!
Major scam
Thanks for the heads up!! I was so close to buying tickets for this event on Groupon 😅
Tickets for this just went on sale in my city. I'm glad I watched this first and saved some money.
Ya it rrly wasn’t fun I recommend going to legit any other convention than this one best ones out there are brick fair Alanata brickworld Chicago and brickfair virgina
Great video lmaoooo
Thanks appreciate it. I’m just speaking facts complete rip off ps sure this isn’t new love your content been watching nearly ever vid since u built the Ucs x wing for the first time
Thanks for the honest review just saved me some bucks
Np
I didn't mind the convention my kids loved the convention honestly it was the first time coming to Michigan so yes sir it has some room for improvement but honestly I hope they come back it's a great experience for the children I mean the adults can turn around and deal with whatever that they don't like about it it's for the kids anyways
I went there i actually had a blast there was some big city builds and a castle i really liked it was great to be honest my main complaint was the lego prices
We just got back from Brick Fest Live in Dallas March 18, 2023 and it totally sucked. $35 per ticket after the $10 discount. We waited in this long VIP line to make a crummy Brick Fest icon figure. Ooooohhhhh, VIP status (NOT). We will post a video soon. There were a couple of neat things but it just looked like the vendors didn't bother to come out. If anyone sees this before its over this weekend, I hope to spare you the waste of time and $15 parking at Dallas Convention Center. Like you, we went to an official LEGO store at North Park Mall in Dallas to make ourselves feel better. Everything was overpriced at Brick Fest Live.
I was lucky I didn’t pay for the vip pass I didn’t need a little built figure
Never been to one myself but have seen videos of them, this looks pretty crap in comparison to the bigger ones lol! Great video rlly well put together and edited
Thanks put in a bit more effort than usual in this one
We went to one in San Diego in February 2020 (before the pandemic, so they can't use that as an excuse). It's just like this video described. There are better conventions out there like Bricks by the Bay.
BRICK WORLD is much better...
i’m supposed to leave for this event in 30 minutes in long beach, CA.
ugh.. i don’t want to drive 55 minutes to be miserable. i’ve already bought the tickets but i’d rather chuck them in the bin than spend an hour in the hot sun to go to a crowded convention center on top of the money i’ve already burned. Rats… now how to explain this so my son will understand. i know he’s going to want to go anyway and he’ll be pulling me out the door after 10 minutes. i wish i saw this before i committed to brick fest.
Did your son enjoy it ?
Spent 80$ on 5 vips tickets, kids are just getting into lego and I wanted to inspire them. Don’t want to go out of state just for a lego convention and this is all we have locally. I get this may not be a great event for a super serious collector but for a casual it should be fine. Saved up 500$ to buy sets, looks like we will skip buying from the vendors and just stop by a bricks and Minifigs shop afterwards. 😅
Bricks and minifigs is worse lol they are the biggest scam in LEGO selling history
Thanks, won’t waste my time! I appreciate the heads up
I really enjoyed it
It is Saturday, October 14, 2023 in Oaks, Pennsylvania. My son and I went to the brickfest. The line to get in was over 1/2 mile long. They texted me 3 times a day until the day we got there. The displays were total crap. Never again. 0 out of 10.
Lines weren’t that long for me but ya it still sucked
Im a tourist in NY. My son love Lego. I saw this event (ticket price is 85usd per person), before buying i watched your video and now we are not going there :)) thx for the video. You save our day and 300 usd. Thx again
I’ve been to one before, me and my friend went in for only a minute, $30 for nothing
Exactly complete waste of money
Just went to this in my town and it was absolute trash
Ikr
You know it's bad, when there is almost no information available and none of the really huge Lego/Brick RUclipsrs mention anything in their vids/blogs etc..
Thanks @willbricksproductions for saving us money.
Great video will have a great weekend 👍
Thanks! You too!
Is it worth it to go to the 2024 Pasadena one in July? Or will it probably be the same layout?
Wondering the same thing
There having one in Sacramento this 14th im just going for the work 😂 I’ll let you guys now how it goes
I just went there yesterday, it was exactly the same as in your video.
Won’t be going…wanted to take the kid for spring break. Thanks for the review Yall
Np I mean they may enjoy but it’s not as good as your typical LEGO convention
We had a replay of this today in Des Moines. We only stayed about 25 minutes to see everything.
Mario wasn't even there, Yoshi wasn't there. There was a weird kid with a Bowser suit and even he was disappointed. Please don't bring brickfest back. You're banned
I was thinking of taking my 6 year old son, thx you brother for the insight lol
I took my bf there as a birthday present in RVA, and it was so sad. We have gone to several other local events and they were incredible. This one was just pathetic. We also paid for the VIP…. And then saw EVERYONE got VIP passes. What was the point of even having that tier?!
Don’t even get me started on their fake official minifig
IKR IM GLAD I DIDNT GET THE VIP PASS I WAS TEMPTED TO BUT IM SO GLAD I DIDNT
Saved our family some time and money thanks!
Was there any vendors set up that you can buy retired sets from
No
I can confirm no
Thank you. I thought something seemed fishy about this.
Glad I can help
Thank you, for this! I was about to buy some tickets to it, for my son. I wanted to show him a video of the event to make sure he wanted to go. You saved me money & disappointment from my son!
Pretty sure these are aimed at children
Note about Brick fest live shows: If the show itself sells LEGO products, then LEGO will not allow them to have other vendors. It's not the show's fault. Also, this is not a competitive convention. That's why there are not so many individual displays. This is a hands-on building opportunity event using hundreds of thousands of LEGO pieces there.
Doesn't every other convention have tons of people seeking lego?
@@bryandedon7459yes, but it’s either the event can sell lego and no one else can, or the event CANT sell lego but other vendors can. Lego rule.
No it’s a total scam
Thank you! This was a very helpful review. They are coming to out town next month.
Glad To Help
Thanks, you just saved me $200.
I got you 😉 😂
Happy I watched this video, you just saved me $30 bucks, I was going to go to this event next weekend in Pittsburgh, but being in my 30s and there not being any vendors it doesn’t seem like there is much there for me.
Ya there rrly isn’t thanks for watching
Thank you for saving me some $$ was trying to take my one-year-old as they will be in NC.
I mean he might enjoy it however it will most likely be overpacked and not very sanatary idk even know the last time the LEGO pit was cleaned?
$30 is too high for your content. Making fun of things that families and friends are spending time together loving legos. Get out of the basement.
They change the convention. I went back in 2016 they had vendors selling old sets mini figures in the Lego discovery Center in Chicago. We’re selling new Lego sets it must’ve went downhill
Yeah I heard somebody bought it rrly sad
Ya this was because they took away all the cool 3rd party venders so sad
oof. Thanks for the heads up. Reddit says the same thing.
I saw an ad for this convention on instagram and wondered if I should go. Idk if it’s worth it now even for the orice
I wouldn’t tbh
I have tickets to go there in May, now I’m not as excited
Sorry about that it was a disappointment here to
@@willbricksproductions Came back a few weeks ago, just like you said but I did buy some cool things so yea
@@willynilly18films nice ya everything I saw there was above retail so I passed
Ya they went downhill it used to be good but then they got greedy and went more private then public and more vendors stopped going
From all the research I've been able to do online between comments and reviews it mainly seems like adults who went for their love of the Lego life thought it sucked and people who took young kids there because they like snapping colorful blocks together into imaginative shapes loved it. I am on the fence, I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on tickets for this year's event in Columbus Ohio and if my analysis is correct then I'm ok with it. Honestly I'd rather scratch my eyes out with a rusty fork, I'm just doing it for my 6 yr old grandson who loves...LOVES!!!!! (that's better) Lego. So if he's happy that's all I care about. I personally wouldnt have much hope of enjoying myself to much unless the Lego bikini/lingerie team came around handing out samples of aged bourbon and chopping out fat lines of Peruvian flake but I guess that's a long shot 🤤.
Where was this particular show?
I went to one in September of last year in Anaheim. Have to say I was so disappointed - for the same reasons you state. I wanted to see some cool displays but there were only a few very small displays. The focus of these are geared towards younger kids as they has a number of interactive exhibits that were geared towards the younger age groups. And yes, only their official store, no vendors. (There was one person selling some lego jewelry. ) not recommended unless you have very young kids.
I have a very young kid a 3.5 year old and would not recommend this for kids or anyone for that matter, my son loves legos but he wanted to leave this event after 10 minutes, I felt so bad for hyping this up for him and it was a total let down, the advertising for this event is misleading. It felt like we got scammed!
We went today 7 of us all as vip in charlotte nc ! What an absolute scam and rip off. Love lego but not events that deliver so little almost 40.0@ buxs per person and there was no difference between vip and regular attendees. Except we got a tacky pin.
I just went there and everything was awful, 2 hour lines too see only 4 cool things and build a shity robot and then leave, I can’t imagine how much my dad payed for this and it was so bad, there was barely anything their.
Sounds like you had the 60 dollar pass
@@willbricksproductions I got the VIP one
@@willbricksproductions VIP is $40 and it was “the best experience” and it fucking sucked, I’m never going their again, it was awful. Fuck brick fest live
@@willbricksproductions brick fest is a fucking scam unless your 3 years old
@@willbricksproductionsbro we both thought it would be like the stuff we watched on beyond the brick lol, nope. Not even close. We waited hours and wasted a day too see nothing cool and build a shit robot wtf is the point of VIP? We all had too wait in like the entire time, the only thing good about it is that you get too take home 12 Lego pieces? And the area it was in was ghetto asf and I thought I was gonna get shot the entire time, it was even more unbelievable that Aquafina water bottles where $5 fucking dollars and they even had the balls too say “plus tax” i was so damn thirsty waiting in those damn lines and I don’t wanna pay $5 for water. I almost fell asleep their, and it’s even more crazy that I had too wait in a fucking line too see 24 shit Lego displays, the most impressive one I saw had 0 detail and 2 jets and then a couple solders. Sad and a disappointment. I rate this event -27.
Hey I I was gonna go but I have a few questions one is the sets they had were there any like recent or older retired sets for sale on a reasonable price?
Only retired sets where cmfs and they where overpriced everything else was sets that our currently available about 10 percent over retail
Just went to one today in mass. they had the exact same stuff in your vid it was so disappointing what a waste of money
Oh no! I just bought tix for our fam of five today. Hope it wasnt a total waste.
If it is a majority of younger children they should enjoy however long wait times for everything there and some states I heard it’s a bit better because there are some more displays but that’s rare
I wish I'd seen this before buying tickets TT . TT
Rip sorry about that 😂
If it makes u feel better I regret it as well but no one made this vid so I did
I just got back from Brick Fest in Pasadena California. I was absolutely shocked to find that there were no vendors there. Waste of $125 for my family to go. what are some good conventions I can go to instead that will sell Lego minifigs?
I recommend brickworld Chicago or brickfair Virginia those are the best ones however if those are to far I recommend anything with the name brick convention
I’m thinking of hitting brick con in Seattle next month. Thoughts?
yeah ill see u at brick world chicago
Let’s go your coming
@@willbricksproductions I’m going to both 🤭🤭
disappointed for the children 🧒
Same it’s rrly sad
Where was this
Went to Brick Fest Live Philly, in the Expo Center, Oaks, PA. It WAS AWESOME. Don't judge it from this chucklehead's experience. My kids LOVED it, I LOVED it, it was GREAT. FUN. PACKED. TONS of displays, mocs, etc. Fun build tables, including a black light build table and display. Pretty dern great.
Was this in alabama
Huh?
Are all the brickfest like this ?
Most from what I have heard I’ve seen some other people display there in different states but that’s rare
Is BrickUniverse bad too?
Haven’t been to one wouldn’t know
@@willbricksproductions BrickUniverse is happening in New York next month. I might go, unless this is bad too. Anyone who’s been to BrickUniverse, please give me your opinion on it.
I complete agree, and will not attend again until they allow the vendors back in - for some reason (greed?) they did not allow private vendors / traders to attend or setup booths, and that is the main reason we have attended Brickfest events in the past. This year was very disappointing, and we were expecting a bigger, better event being held at the Convention Center.
What city was this in?
No clue but I was in IL when I saw it
@@willbricksproductions oh ok
Thanks for this video, was gonna go to the one in Jacksonvilel but i think I’ll pass now.
So why didn't you participate with all of YOUR MOCs?
Because I dont think you can it’s privately owned by someone and not your typical convention although I heard one person I knew recently did so who knows
ruclips.net/video/ru9QEcsYOAU/видео.html New Jersey last year was pretty epic.
@@VorpalBlonde that looks a lot better than what I went to tbh I’m surprised because every where I see this event looks kinda bad
Thats why you got 77 likes😮😮
OMG UR DOING A FAN MEETUP PLEASE CAN I MEET YOU ON MONDAH PLEEEEEEEEASE ❤❤❤❤❤🎉(I’m kinda shy warning u in advance 😢😅😅😅)
😂
Sounds like they let the fans of Lego down, sorry to hear it. But what goes around comes around. I'm sure they will reap what they sowed.
omggggg
WHY YOU MEAN!!! IT WAS GOOD FOR ME AND MY FAMLY
its not mean its honest
LOOK BRO BACK THE F$@#$#$ OFF
Saw that one was going to happen in NJ. I thought about going but thanks for this heads-up lol
Glad to help it really wasn’t fun
I was also there. It was awful. I still have yet to receive my 15 poly bags either
What a scam
I didn’t even consider buying them
I give Brick Fest Live a 2 out of 30
Agreed
Searched through my emails and I guess this scam has been going on a LONG time. Saw old emails for these events since 2015.
I bought tickets for Brick Fest Live Pasadena 2023. It’s in a couple weeks. I wanted to take my son, but after watching this, I think we’ll skip it and go to the Lego store at the mall.
Try getting a refund I’m sure he would enjoy a 60 dollar LEGO set more
What state was this in??
IL
Oh, ok.. Lol. I thought u were talking about Harrisburg, PA.
