Many thanks for taking the time to show how to do this. I am getting a bit fed up printing other peoples work and thought id try to make my own ! Great help :)
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed my tutorial. I do plan on making more Blender tutorials in the future. Right now, I only have one other blender tutorial, which you may have already seen, but I will put a link here in case you're interested. ruclips.net/video/cr6LFD7y_zw/видео.html
Hi! I was the one who asked for tips regarding how to make this vase. I just want to say thank you so much for the tutorial! As a beginner using Blender, I truly appreciate the details going into the basic elements e.g. changing units, exporting with applying modifiers, etc. I simply cant thank you enough! I hope you keep doing more blender tutorials :)
Great video! Radius is correct btw. It's measured from the center of a circle to the outer edge. In that sense 2 radiuses equals the full width of the circle, effectively being two halves
another way to reset your scale you can type Ctrl+A and the 3rd option down is Scale - if you use keyboard commands often (which you absolutely should in Blender), it becomes a habit to regularly rescale your models
My first thought is that your merge distance is too high. There is a little arrow next to the word merge. Click it to see the merge distance. It should be a very small number. My default value is 0.01. For this project, you could use an even smaller number, like 0.001 since we are basically removing duplicate verts. If it still gives you problems, try leaving merge unchecked, and I think the whole issue of merging will take care of itself when I have you merge by distance after applying the array and simple deform modifiers (in other words, I think I could have completely skipped the whole thing about activating merge in the array modifier...but I didn't realize it when I made the video). Let me know if that helps.
Hi. I'm sorry it's giving you problems. The first thing I would try is going into edit mode, press A, M, B. Then press Shift-N. This will make sure there are no duplicate vertices and that your normals are correct. Then try ctrl-R again. If it still doesn't work, you can contact me outside of youtube (just let me know you're the person from youtube who couldn't use ctrl-R on the vase). ruclips.net/video/bhadwrxAF0c/видео.html
Hi. I've never heard of that problem. You can send me the file and I will take a look at it for you. Here is a video about how to contact me outside of RUclips.
I had the same issue, I read that by pressing Ctrl+Alt and clicking the face or the edge, it will select the chain of elements next to the one you are clicking. Hope it helps :)
Great tutorial, clear instructions and easy to follow and understand. Would you be kind enough to do a koch fractal vase tutorial in the future maybe. Many thanks
Hi, I just wanted to let you know I just uploaded a tutorial on my take on the Koch fractal vase. ruclips.net/video/cr6LFD7y_zw/видео.html And I plan on doing one on modeling just the Koch fractal itself (so you can take it to as many iterations as you want). Although, I don't know when I will be able to make that one. It's just something I'm planning on right now.

Thanks for sharing how to modeling in blender
You are amazing for explaining everything in details. I would love to see more such videos where I can learn more about blender

I'm glad it was helpful. And thanks for the encouraging words.
Tnx❤

Thank you for share. Very careful teaching 🎉 12:21
Thanks for watching!

Ctrl-A, scale is what I normally do. Did I do something different in this video? (I can't remember, it's been awhile since I uploaded this).
While merging the array ,it’s getting deformed, can’t figure out what can be the issue.

Superb! I guess I learned something from this. Where were you when I needed to understand lattices and deformations?! :)
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it!
I can't seem to be able to add the edge loops in, when i press ctrl + R it wants to insert them for 1 ridge.

Hello! I started from scratch again, and it worked. So I probably missed a step somewhere🤷♂️. Thanks for your reply!
No problem. I'm glad you got it working. :)
I am not able to select the edges at 8:17. Can someone please help?

Hi, I had the same issue. I had to go into Edit > Preferences > Input > then check the box for "Emulate 3 Button Mouse'' then the double click worked.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. That vase sounds like a cool idea. I will consider doing that, but I'm not sure when I will be able to get to it.
