@@nicholasellis7494 Your comment makes no sense. You ask how this would be less competition then make comments that have nothing to do with competition. Steam is a competitor to MS's stores. If you remove Steam, you have less competition... Prices go up, options go down.
If Coke buys Pepsi and it's products, options go down, prices go up. It's pretty easy.

Funny how this is a day old and I haven't seen a single other video about it. This is obviously not happening. With all the eyes on possible monopolies to prosecute right now, there isn't a chance in hell this would ever get approved. Got any links to your sources by any chance?
Sincerely, I can't think anything more damaging to the gaming industry that could ever possibly happen. Steam is the great behemoth it is because it took them over 20 years of building trust with their consumers. None of Microsoft's policies are based on trust. In fact they're one of the most untrustworthy companies out there. They buying Steam would mean the end of that platform, and most certainly the end of the support for gaming on Linux. If this ever happen I'll either sail the seven seas again, or quit gaming forever.

@joshninny GOG is a distribution platform on PC similar to steam and the most likely to replace steam. The have a great mentality with better consumer rights then steam, 30 Day refund window regardless of playtime and a commitment against DRMs ensuring you own your games.

Microsoft won against Great Britain with some threats to pull out their business from the country. They showed they own several state senators and threatened to pull lobby money or pull businesses from their districts. Little pissant countries like Brazil didn’t even squeal and bent over for Satya and Phil and kneeled for them happily opening their mouths, all because Xbots wanted free COD on Gamepass. Our regulators are snot rags now thanks to Xbox fanboys. It’s possible. If Microsoft wants it, it’s possible. Thank the Xbots for decimating our consumer rights across all industries not just gaming. ABK is proof and precedent.
