Honestly, even though I was expecting the Swans to drop a game eventually, it still hurts to lose in a thriller. But I’m really hoping that this serves as a wake up call for the Swans to play more efficiently in 4 Quarters because they really shot themselves in the foot so many times through this match. Anyway, here’s hope that we rebound against St. Kilda.
It had to happen eventually. The Swans have been good enough to lose a quarter convincingly and still win comfortably (Geelong comes to mind). Full credit to Freo though, brilliant today
I initially had Fremantle winning this game, before finding about Alex Pearce being ruled out with injury. I then had the Swans to FLOG the Dockers, but it was Freo with the strong first quarter that was the difference, but you know how the Swans tend to turn it on in the second half and I was right about that. Logan McDonald has the change to win or tie after the siren, but he blew it. I'll give Fremantle a lot of credit for building up a big lead in the third quarter at the SCG and Sydney credit for not giving up, but the slow starts have finally been the Swans' undoing. Another surprise is that Adam Papalia called the game despite it being at the SCG, his first AFL game away from Perth since 2019. Are Fremantle contenders in 2024? I want to wait another month before I say my opinion. Freo, way to go. Well done, Dockers. Enjoy this win.

But this game without their captain Alex Pearce and Brennan Cox who how important pieces of the Freo defense puzzle. Enter Josh Draper and 2nd gamer Hugh Davies, those to blokes stood up in this game. And Luke Ryan, the big brickwall always on his game.

yep. But he's a champ. Hope he bounces back hard next week. All forwards had a tough time against Draper and Ryan. Midfield were shocking though - that's where we really lost it. Forwards did their best.

Poor efforts for a team that supposedly had 83% chance of winning, best odds. Over 20 seconds left on clock instead of kicking into the square and hopefully someone else taking a mark for goal or getting a point for a draw, runs down the clock and can't even make the distance.
