- A long time ago, the forest boundary came right up to the edge of the national road. Since then, forest exploitation and charcoal production caused the forest to shrink inward. Of course, as the forest moved, the animals inhabiting it move with it as well. Now, when we want to look for lemurs, we need to go far to find one.
_ Lemurs are now endangered because forests in Madagascar are shrinking. These are the forest in which they live. Lemurs participate in harmony with all of Madagascar’s biodiversity even it is not visible directly.Madagascar Lemurs portal contributes to Lemurs conservation.
_ Madagascar Lemurs Portal challenge is to create the tool. The team worked on it for about 1 year and half. Then the team promoted the tool all around the country. During these promotions, we gave training to communities, especially data technician and students at the universities in four regions in Madagascar. The capacity building we conducted was about biodiversity data management in Madagascar.
_ Primary data is the data that we collect directly from the field. We collect information about dates, coordinates and information about the species we found.
