Wilson argues that although regeneration is essential for salvation, it is not necessary for covenant membership, while Gregg disagrees, stating that being united with Christ is essential and that not all who claim to be part of the covenant are truly joined to Christ. The two also debate the concept of God's foreknowledge and how it relates to the issue of election.
I've heard a lot of defenses of POTS, but never one from quite like Doug's perspective. To straight up affirm that you can be "in Christ" without being saved is very odd, but it's such an interesting argument that I can't look away. He certainly wouldn't hold to that view when looking at most of the Pauline uses of "in Christ." Still his view of 1 Cor. 10 is very interesting. Fun debate.
Our names were in Christ before the foundation of the world ,our names were written on Jesus's hands when He died for us,( speak on believers or God's elect only)this is how we were crucified with Christ.
@@CBALLEN That’s not how we were crucified with Christ. We are united to him by faith and made a new creation. This does not occur before salvation, but instead, it is part of it. You’re welcome to bring scripture references to back up the rest of your assertions.
@CosmicSeptic1 Jesus saved 100% of the people that He died for, their salvation was finished at the cross, once the Holy Spirit grants them the new birth, they believe. So repentance and belief are the results of salvation, not the cause of it.
I have a lot of respect for Doug Wilson, and have used him as a resource for years. Still will. However… according to Doug God is an accomplice to all murders. Well, then, God is the author of evil according to Doug Wilson’s Calvinism.

Great job explaining the cracks in Calvinism. People are waking up and scales are falling off.
Mr. Wilson is floundering here...

@@CBALLEN chapter and verse?
@@CosmicSeptic1 Did or did not Jesus come to save His People from their sins?

God is indeed the Creator of the one who brought sin into the world and that was the plan.
