I was waiting for this one since the very first time I saw the trailer, that scenery is alluring! It seems it has more stuff inside, now I'm stoked on the monster catching mechanic too! Thanks for giving this one a chance, so excited to try it!
Wow, Beyond Galaxyland looks like a blast! It’s got that perfect mix of RPG and platformer vibes from your review, and I’m loving the galaxy theme lately. The gameplay looks fun and fluid, and I can already tell you can lose hours exploring those worlds! Definitely adding this one to my wishlist. 🚀🤘
I love it when an indie team take elements that have been perfected elsewhere, rejig them and add in other well crafted elements and make something totally new, yet familiar at the same time. Passion projects over AAA is where we need to be spending more time and money.
With that intriguing title, that had to be a great video 😂 This looks amazing, and I luckily saw your video early enough to catch the discount ❤️ Thanks a lot for yet another great recommendation
Guys! My backlog! The art style is lovely, the story sounds so well written and love the camera mode! And, to quote Red Dwarf, it doesn’t take up more RAM than a field of sheep!
Added this to my wishlist the first time you all mentioned it. It's definitely even higher up on the list now. Can't wait to give this a try sometime !
Hi mate, I just got 1000 gamer score on Brotato this week and noticed this game so I bought it straight away on the series X. It is amazing and for the quality I can’t believe the low asking price. I may just buy it again for my Switch OLED too. Just heed the warning near the beginning to use the save points though as there is no auto save just as it should be. Hitchhikers Guide and Red Dwarf was very popular here in Oz as well. Bloomtown also looks to be another killer ai die release too. Sort of like Stranger Things mixed with Xfiles and JRPG. Indies are just totally landing it lately where AAA have largely become irrelevant.
I might get it later....... Just bought Epic Mickey, which will be my first time playing the first of the series. I played the sequel, which is thankfully much the same, however i really want to play the original. So far the graphics have been greatly improved and i can see why Warren Specter enjoyed this project so much. I love seeing how one's choices actually are shown in the game this way. They really fixed the camera. Even the sequel had issues there, and they fixed it and they also fixed the interaction with the gremlin. The music has also been improved. I hope you do a review once the hype has died down or at your earliest convenience.
As someone who usually runs a mile from turn based combat I'm really surprised how good it is, bought this cos Glen likened it to Red Dwarf and he ain't wrong , Thanks guys
Oof. Another game which looks epic. Indie developers have grown so much. I really love indie games more than most aaa now. I respect all their work and passion 🙌 ❤
I love games with pixel art and Beyond Galaxyland of the most gorgeous games I've ever see. I'm also a big fan on Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, so your comment about the game's similarity has peaked my interest. Can't wait to play it!
RPGs generally aren’t my thing, but there is something about the visual style of this game that makes me want to give it a go. A bit like “Beautiful Desolation“ did.
In the past I often overlooked indies in favor of big AAA titles. But the Switch and changing times got me trying smaller titles and I must say, the passion they bring is mostly unmatched. Also it’s much more common for Indy devs to actually listen to their fans/players. Thanks for another banger video Switchup!
I picked this up ready for my holiday next week, looks great and saw a video from the dev talking about it and his influences and that had me drawn in straight away.
This game caught my attention from the very first trailer! I love the art style and the incredibly ambitious premise. Glad to see it holds up well in reviews!
I love that this seems to be a great game, indie devs have really been knocking it out of the park recently. The 2.5d, as you mentioned, does seem like a refreshing change for this genre.
Man the pixel graphics look sick, good soundtrack and a fun idea. But the biggest reason is it’s a game with a hero with my name! Usually in movies/shows etc Doug’s are always stupid, weird. How is this Doug? Maybe this is the grand adventure I need.
I absolutely love the looks of the game. I find this sort of art style much more appealing than any of the numerous photorealistic AAA offerings these days.
Big companies should take a good look. We don't always need huge budgets for amazing games. I rather have games like this and Bloomtown. Great video like always.
Thank [Insert your preferred supernatural deity] for three things (In no particular order)… 1. Indie Devs 2. The Nintendo Switch 2. Switch Up I remember the days back in 1990 when I got a Sega Gamegear and a single cartridge (Sonic) and was surprised by how let down I felt with the overall experience. We truly live in a wonderful time in history. Maybe in the future there may be a solution to backlog? But at this time I use the hour train ride to work and home each day chipping away at it… and loving every minute.
I just held back from splurging on the eShop and you do this to me?! 😂 I really like how the game zooms in and out to increase the feeling of immersion, despite it being a 2D game.
I used to be so burnt out on pixel art until the last few years when so many amazing looking pixel art games with beautiful art direction have completely re-energised my love of it

This looks great! What an awesome indie system the Switch has become. Often find myself playing more indies these days than the big AAAs! Shogun Showdown being a great recent example. Thanks for the review 👍🏻
It reminds me of Child of Light with the puzzles, platforming and the 2D perspective mixed with an RPG adventure. The theme is completely different though. The sci-fi elements is quite interesting too, I hope it doesn't become A Planet of the Guinea Pigs😅
Been following this game for a few weeks now and am so excited to play it!! The open world exploration, the amazing visuals, and unique characters immediately put this at the top of my wishlist!! Even if I don't catch it on sale Im going to jump on this over the next couple days!
From the art, to the story, to the music to the gameplay, this looks amazing! Indie devs are truly better than the AAA ones these days. Also, just to let you know, you don't have to be from the UK to have watched Red Dwarf! I'm from (and still live in) the United States, but I have a particular love for British comedies. Fawlty Towers is the funniest show ever made, and Yes, Minister/Yes, Prime Minister is also right up there.
I'm not from the UK, but I absolutely LOVE Red Dwarf. The art style makes this game look amazing. I would be a total smeghead if I didn't add this to the collection right away!!!
The switch really is my indie hell... nah heaven, but my backlog is rolling around. Bloomtown first and than this beauty of a beast. Unfortunately, i'm like always too late to the party and the discount is gone for good. Makes it easier to decide which one to play first.
