- This video shows how to make single braided ribbon lei with 3 ribbons. I have another two videos with 2 and 4 ribbons. I'm making other Hawaiian ribbon flowers videos, too. You can make this lei for graduation, birthday or special events. I hope this video can be helpful. Let me know if you have questions.

The materials that I used for this 42" lei :
6 yards 5/8" black grosgrain ribbon
6 yards 5/8" orange grosgrain ribbon
6 yards 1/4" white satin with silver edge ribbon

Beautiful, my son passed 19 months and he would’ve graduated this year, so I’m making these garlands for his best friends a total of 5 boys and I’m making them stoked as well! It’s bitter sweet but I have to because I feel like I’m making making them for him. He loved them and they love him back…. I hope I don’t loose my mind.

Hello! Is it possible to do this using three different sized ribbons in the same lei? For example 5/8, 7/8 and 1/4?
Sorry for late reply. Usually I use two main ribbons with the same size. You can use two main ribbons 7/8". Then the other ribbon can be 5/8" or 1/4".

In this video I use two main ribbons 5/8". The other ribbon is smaller (1/4"), you can also use 3/8".

Each color of ribbon is 6 yards to make 40"-42" lei.

Yes, it's ok, but the lei will be shorter.

@@marlenerubio6753 with 6 yards, my lei is about 42". With 5 yards maybe it will be 36"-38" and it's still the right size. We supposed to wear lei hanging by our chest actually.
