My God....not only do I remember this, I remember what was going on: My Mom was watching this movie about The Beatles and let me stay up late to watch the first 20 minutes of it.
Thank you, as ever, for the time machine back to my childhood and for posting broadcasts I witnessed that I never even conceived I’d want to experience again. It is always a special magic to me.
0:05 Florence Warner is one of the all-time great jingle singers, and here she is for Pizza Hut. What a voice! 19:07 Lester Rawlins on the voice-over for Sylvania Blue Dot flash bulbs. 22:37 Michael Bell on the voice-over for FedMart. 6:38 Casey Kasem for Century 21.
They never made a big deal about Black Friday back then, and it is great to find commercials that were aired the Friday after Thanksgiving without all the hype about Black Friday.
Birth of the Beatles had three different announcers for the opening narration: Ernie Anderson (this broadcast), generic American announcer (unknown source), and generic British announcer (European version).
1:32 Ace Hardware ft. Suzanne Somers. In the 90s ace changed its jingle from “Helpful hardware man” to “helpful hardware folks” 13:45 Brush your breath with Dentyne
Newer ones like "Let's Go Places" or "Moving Forward" just don't have the same catch. "I Love What You Do For Me... TOYOTA" was the last great slogan from them.
@pannoni8 Dear Michael: These commercials aired on KABC Channel 7 in November 1979 and bring back memories. I would like to know if you have any more recorded commercial breaks that aired on KABC Channel 7 and if you could please send me a notification via RUclips. Thanks.
I was gobsmacked when I saw the ad at 15:32 because I saw the exact same apply-perfume-before-speeding-in-a-designer-car theme in a totally separate commercial from two years prior for Intimate by Revlon: m.ruclips.net/video/lLlxpoBKDvg/видео.html Someone needs to explain that rationale to me! 😅

I think Toyota should bring back that jingle and promo with NASCAR drivers Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin jumping to "oh what a feeling to drive Toyota"!

pannoni4 seems to have been terminated, yet again......smh
Unfortunately, because Disney didn't like having One Life to Live episodes on RUclips. They have been moved to his archive channel.

Hopefully he comes back soon. The copyright system is a joke.
I remember them but I sure don't miss them. They were garbage then and they're even worse now.
