That's a great little glove box meter. You're right about the old meters. My first was a very old hand me down from a neighbor. Around 1968, I was happy if a 9 volt battery hit between 8 and 11 volts... People forget, unlike today's cheap stuff, we fixed everything back then. Radios, TV's, toasters, phonographs, nothing was tossed out. I'm not sure parents would allow their kids to do the things we did, working with live electrical equipment. I learned so much, skills I use today. Great fun!

Just tried out the NCV, not something I use, however it seems to work well with 2 levels of detection accompanied by green and red lights in addition to the display.
Cant use this one in automotive, dirty hands in gloves would not handle this control buttons. Would be good if they atleast added 1 button to cycle around user defined configurations.

@@kaiweets6577 Hello, had to return it because controls are quite hard to navigate while in gloves. Clicking The AUTO/FUNC button can trigger both auto or change function, I can move only clockwise to switch function, can not move back and forward, have to click many times. Sometimes while measuring automotive cable that might have load/capacitance smart detection function can swing between different measurement mode. If I want to measure only continuity and then only resistance I have to make a circle around. Measurements, safety, overall build quality of product had no issues.

The leads coming out the bottom would be a bit of a nuisance. I tend to use a DMM propped up.
