Jacky Ickx is by far the best driver ever at Le Mans see the 1977 race were like in 1969 Ickx came dead last..... to eventually win the race , according to Jacky Ickx himself : his best and most difficult Le Mans victory ever!!
Here's a tiny little fact of no significant importance. The 's' in 'Le Mans' is silent 😁 Kind regards from a very anal Le Mans fan five years to late! 🤣🤣
@@Vacaneu He got more wrong, not as it pertains to Toyota. In 2010, the oreca pictured in 4th was not actually the Oreca that finished 4th. That Peugeot broke as well as the 3 factory cars. In 1972, Jo Bonnier's car had many problems, and was well out of contention when he was fatally injured during the morning hours. Just because he died, it does not mean he was contending for the win, no matter what cliches tell us. And in 1969, he states that the finish is not remembered for like its beginning. And as important a start it was with Ickx walking across the track, The finish was certainly epic, being the closest non-staged finish. Yes 1966 was closer, but Ford rigged it to be that way.
One of my favorites is the 2011 race. Audi had 2 wrecked cars, with only 1 left running. That lone Audi beat the 3 Pugeots! With André Lotterer, Benoit Treluyer, and Marcel Fassler.
Was good but not everything was true sadly I don't understand why hollywood can't keep true all the way through the movie. Sometimes the truth is a better story.. Example like the fire with them in the pits at the start of the movie.. Just saying c'mon hollywood. Was a good movie though 👍
@@warieo it’s still a movie that needs to capture the attention of casual viewers who might not care as much about race cars and the stories behind them. A bit of spectacle isn’t necessarily a detriment.
Hey man excellent video, you deserve a lot more views and subs. Just a little constructive advice, you should add a little bit more footage of the actual racing. Still man excellent video!
Rotaries were not banned because of Mazda. They were banned before Le Mans due to FIA switching to 3.5 litre NA rules for group C cars. Rotaries were driven at Daytona 24 and Le Mans in late 1990s. It was only the regulations of that time and it had nothing to do with Mazda's win.
Interesting I suppose but no races included from the Group C era, possibly the greatest ever at LM, especially in 1988 when Jaguar beat Porsche by just two and a half minutes after an incredible race, setting a distance record that wouldn't be beaten for more than 25 years....I was there, (every year since 1982 actually).... not too sure you ever have been.
Not gonna lie, really surprised you didn't put 2016 edition there. Extremely tight race between Porsche and Toyota until the very end, with this drama-climax-movie-worth Toyota break down 1 fucking lap before the end on the finish line.
Le Mans '69 was one of the greatest races ever staged. The Ickx/Oliver Ford GT40 raced neck and neck for the last 2 hours with the remaining Porsche- and Ickx beat the Porsche by about 300 feet (90 meters).
No "S" in the pronunciation of Le Man(s)
McLaren F1 a road car?! Nope it's a race car with licence plate, that's why it was unestimated. Nice video, makes me wanna watch Mr McQueen's version.
I was so triggered everytime he said it😂😂
Jacky :" no worries, ima just walk to my car while enjoying the moment..." *24hours later*
"is that the finish line? already?!? awww....."
the fact that Jacky Ickx were Mazda's team principle at that time, made the story event impressive..
Good list. 2011 and 2016 are also good ones!
1999 should be #1. By far the best one. This race had everything you could ask for.
It's all about the 24 Lemons.. get a 400 usd car and see if you can make it lol
Joan I have always wanted to run that race!
7:10 Nissan GT-R LM Nismo.
What a legend!

Preparé for 2023 Le mans.
BEST 2011:
3rd Audi VS Peugeot 3rd
3rd Audi (Crash 1st Hour)
2nd Audi (Crash Night)
1st Audi (Winner Finish)
Correction:
#1 Audi (crash during the night)
#2 Audi (winner)
#3 Audi (crash during the 1st hour)
The 's' is silent in LeMans
You need to include:1927,1950,1953,and 1967.
1988 jaguar xjr-9.....1990 jaguar xjr-12
great compilation, spoiled by the "creative" pronunciation of "Le Mans" & Porsche"...
Tom cristensen is danish
That's unfair they banned mazda's engine after they won

If you’re going to make a video on Le Mans then at least learn how to pronounce it. Cringe every time you say it.
Lot of errors
I know about toyota but still 3 YEARS AGO

ive seen "Ford v Ferrari" wow, what a movie, true story with awesome cast

Underrated video.
Nice video, also good list, i think you miss 89, 2011, 2015, 2016, 82, and maybe 98 as well. The F1 GTR is my dream car too!!!
2011?

Et 1973 ? Le duel Matra-Férrari ?! Et 1988 : le duel Porsche-Jaguar ..durant 24 heures ..svp ..etc ; etc
Take a drink every time he says Le Mans incorrectly
The ‘Triple Crown’ doesn’t require you to win a Formula 1 season. It’s just the Monaco GP.
Did you even do your research? 🤦♂️
“Japan entered the race with the Mazda 787” What?
Mazda was not backed by the whole country of Japan. C’mon man!
Everything has politics as well as auto racing does. If something is not liked, it is banned as well also as reducing engine size.
You should have included the 1953 and 1967 races.
Your pronunciation of “Le Mans” makes it hard to watch this video.
WHAT ABOUT THE 2011 RACE?!?!?!
Pronounced: LE MA
2011!!
Last one was thug life
1966,1970 & 1969 are my favorite races!

If this was updated, Toyota stopping on the line
Lovely video. Well done. One remark tho: the S at the end of Le Mans is silent ;)
Great content, you closed my evening. Very interesting. Good night ;)
Tripple crown is Le Mans, Indy500 and Monaco gp
lol 24 hrs later...
nice vid

But your review of the 1991 lemans was good
