There's nothing like democracy in Nigeria. What we have is civil rule. How can you explain this? The military built 4 refineries but the politicians can not build new ones and they can't maintain the old ones. They can't improve the power supply and the economy is in reverse. Nigeria is not a Nation. Nigeria is a colonial entity of the British amalgamation, operating neo-colonial fascist, feudal system of the military oligarchy. We are not operating a Federal system as negotiated and Constituted by 1960 Constitution.. It was the military rascals who took over power, first by the bloody military coup of 15th January 1966 and subsequent coups till Ọbásanjọ́ 1979 hand-over and subsequent military coups and illegitimate regime till Abubakar of 1999 that hijacked the sovereignty of the diverse ethnic nationalities and decreed the current 1999 Constitution.. That was the root of the current debacle that we must resolve as the way forward. We only keep deceiving ourselves if we think that we can make any progress under this system. As long as we keep deceiving ourselves, it is not going to happen no matter who occupies the seat of the President.. Nigeria is a failed State as presently constituted. The various nation-states need to be empowered to harness their resources. That should be our focus not all these yearly rhetoric called "Presidential address to the nation" wasting our time in doing studio analyses.
