I like this ending more that we saw in the anime. Desparation and hopeless but at the end Goku had one more opportunity to save his friends and family
It’s enough to know that the original timeline has everyone dead and that the timeline we watch is an alternate timeline because of trunks.
I’d be a real bummer to know that on top of all that, we now have to watch/read from another universe.

Whis come to care for Goku since the Battle of Gods Goku's very soul and essence and personality of friendship family and his pure of heart rubbed off on Whis and Beerus even the Zeno's now I understand why Goku is the main character of the whole Dragon Ball franchise for a Reason it is true pure of heart of his. Whis may not show it very much because he's an angel but deep down to his very soul of his he growing to care for Goku. Goku always has the effect on people they can be anybody regardless of who they are. Then no matter Dragon Ball fans think about Dragon Ball that Goku should retire and somebody else to take the spotlight that's never going to happen Japan fans have grown to understand who Goku is he's pure heart and that's what makes him special that's why he's the main character of Dragon Ball for a reason his stupidness carelessness and he may not show a lot of things of his personality but there's one thing about him the even affects us fans he is pure of heart in the may not look like he cares for people because he's so childish and selfish but deep down inside of him he really does care.

This is how Dragon Ball Super should have ended. Sadly, I don't think the fandom would have taken it like I did, though. People forget that Goku was always reckless. Having reality punch him in the face would not only be beneficial to the plot, but would show everyone how he handles these types of situations. I don't know about anyone else, but most of the time, I prefer the fan manga over the cannon storyline. There isn't a deadline to meet, it is more in touch with the plot and fans because they wrote it and provides us with a multitude of perspectives. We shouldn't dismiss this because it's non-cannon.
It would have been perfect because the start of the Tournament of Power arc was dropping hints about Goku being reckless, this would have been a lesson well learned.
So the TOP is goku's fault? If so you're wrong. The Zenos would have erased many universes as their mortal level didn't rise. Goku gave them a chance of survival

That moment when Goku is pleading for his life feels out of character for him but the impact was still there. That really hurt to see Goku like that. I would've been devastated to watch Goku go out in such anguish after all that. You'd think he'd go out with no regrets and apologize to everyone for not being strong but actually being the most devastated out of everyone was really hard to witness. What's even worst is that Universe 11 would've been erased too because you guys already know that Jiren would not have wished the other universes back so the Omni King would've erased them too.
I actually like this a lot more than I thought I would. As much as I would like for Goku to always be the strongest and be able to easily beat his opponents, it get's too predictable and sometimes boring. In the franchise, we don't really see him take anyone seriously and go all out. We usually see him toy with and test his opponent's strength. I don't want him to completely lose his fun-loving personality, but when it comes to fighting, I would like him to become more of a badass like Vegeta - and fight someone with the intent of annihilating them.
I hope that this lesson made an ever-lasting impression on Goku, and that he learns to take threats seriously. Honestly, Goku's only downside is the fact that he is cocky and playful, and he always underestimates his opponents. If he learned to never let his guard down, he would truly be invincible, with no equal. I hope that he actually goes all out, and is able to beat Jiren all by himself, as Mastered Ultra Instinct should be able to do.
Great alternate story, and great review. I really look forward to the next episode covering this alternate story.

Yup I believe Whis knew that timeline was going to be erased (due to Jiren's selfish wish, so he honestly had nothing to lose by helping Goku).
And it's not as weird as F.Trunks, at least Goku's consciousness/soul merged with his alternative self meanwhile F.Trunks has to live with another version himself and two Mai's but yeah Goku (just like F.Trunks) has to live with alternative versions of his friends/family.
The really weird thing is; in this story this is the 4th version of Goku (that's known): the 1st version died in the original timeline then got erased by Zeno, the 2nd version had his body stolen by Zamasu then was killed, the 3rd version was saved from erasure by Whis and now we've got the 4th version of Goku (that fused with the 3rd version)...

I’ve been on DB since I was about 13 and I’m 30 now, and they’ve always centered it around goku being too weak and then a new breakthrough happens. It’s cool but it was definitely nice to see a change and watch them lose everything so they see the value of losing your loved ones. Great story actually made me tear. Akira watch out lol

Kat Power the buu saga is my favorite because even though the dragon balls can literally bring anyone back to life and the afterlife basically negates death, they found a way to still make death scary, especially at the hand of buu, and this was a guy who could really kill you like 100% and I believe that if they would’ve left the cliff hanger like this, it would’ve been much better, with Goku having to go on a whole universal adventure to find the super dragon balls and fix everything.
If it makes anyone feel better, since Jiren won and wanted to use the super dragon balls to wish his teacher back, zenos would've erased everything. Remember, when No.17 won and wishes for all the universes to be brought back, Grand priest said that if anything else was wished for the Zenos would've wiped everything out

If theres a goku already existing in that dimension, then shouldn’t there be 2 gokus? The already existing goku simply cannot just be erased and be replaced if the physical body never disappeared.
If there was no goku existing in that dimension, then they just wouldnt recognize who goku is.

But everyone is his original timeline is still gone so this ending really kinda sucks. So he got brought to another timeline to save it, so what? Everyone from his original timeline is still erased and he'll have to live with that for the rest of his life knowing his friends and family in that timeline are gone. And what about the Goku who's body he took over, what happens to his soul or consciousness or whatever?
See this would have been better if Jiren had seen everyone's reactions felt some dealing emotion and decided to wish everyone back because Goku has a habit of making an impact on people he fights and changing them and sometimes befriending them. Then Goku's friends and family and all that get revived, Goku learns a valuable lesson about messing with Zeno and it motivates him to train to master UI and Jiren finally learns about friendship and befriends Goku and the pride troopers and some of the Z fighters (not Frieza lol).
And then maybe Goku can tell Jiren about the earth dragon balls and Jiren can revive his master. Happy endings all the way around.

I hate this ending *because* it goes so far out of its way to try and give Goku a happy ending at all. He doesn't deserve one. After it's all said and done, he still messed up and needs to reap the consequences of his actions. It's no different from the ending of the Goku Black arc. Toriyama wanted to show the heroes outright failing, but *Still* wanted to have a "happy ending" anyway. The writers have always spoiled Goku silly, but stuff like this takes it to a new level. I would at least think the fans, of all people, would be a bit better than that, but clearly not. How is he supposed to learn any lesson when it seems like reality itself will bend over backwards to always come to his aid whenever he gets himself in over his head? And people accuse Luffy and Naruto of having too much plot armor.

Not that my comment is related to the video itself but it ticks me off that when people call the complete version of Ultra Instinct, mastered ultra instinct when it's not and I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this.
