This is not only the problem in Nigeria its in West Africa in general. There is no middle class in Ghana there are the very rich or the poor.If a politician is in office or retired and becomes sick he is sent by private jet to the UK for treatment if a poor person becomes sick & can,t pay they are sent home by trotro. Bill Gates was right in what he said & good on him for having the guts to tell the truth.

Westerners always come under the guise of meaning well. They said the same thing when they came to America, Africa and in more recent places, Syria, Iraq and Libya. Somehow, locals always seem to get screwed while the westerners get rich off the resources. It is a ruse.

If anything shows you are a morally and ethicality bankrupt. No one in the history of the world has ever been remembered or left a legacy where they are remembered by the nice houses or cars they owned. Guess what every year newer, much better models come out, architecture keeps improving by leaps and bounds due to computers and technology. What leaves a lasting legacy good or bad and what will be remembered through time is your contribution to people's lives and how you treated or your interaction with them. That's why MLK, Nelson Mandela, even Hitler are still rembered today. Now who even remembers abacha, gowon, babangida and the several Nigeria leader's? Can you point to anything tangible that they did to improve people's lives? Almost every one of them when their names are brought up it's in the context of corruption

@@brianlee2790 I am pretty sure you have never set foot in Africa. You think Western media is real news. Europeans work hard to ensure Africa has ineffective leaders. The best thing that could happen to Africa is for Western Europeans to remove all troops, cut off all aid and terminate all contracts. Europeans steal $10 in resources for every $1 in aid. Africa is the future.

What was Reuben Abati's publication about there? What does a bloody hypocrite like him publishing? Here is a man that would write endlessly on the Guardian newspaper editorials back then, addressing salient issues of concern and I wished he was our President. Not long after, he became a Presidential appointee. What did he do? He would respond in support of a foolish and reckless government's misrule. I was terribly disappointed at this man. Maybe you won't understand my comment here. But if you read his publications on the Guardian back then, you would have understood me. People like him should bury their heads in the sand. Its up to Nigerians to personally develop themselves into entrepreneurs capable of cloning Dangote in everything and even going further in creating the Nigerian dream for everyone. Entrepreneurship is the key to developing this great nation, as Dangote said that, "Nigeria is the best kept secret for every good thing in life".

I remember when MTN came into Nigeria, to buy a recharge card then was so high that only the rich people can use and make a call, but other network came in and the price of recharge card came down with a speed. someone was into cement business before and that time cement was not that high, why did Nigeria Government fought all their best to close that particular person down so that only one person called Dangote be the only one in charge of cement?
