- FUN Factor is seriously next level with this caged animal. Huge thanks to ARRMA for the attention to detail, incredible performance, and monster smile this truck provides. The Tactical Team hung tough despite going seriously airborne this mission. Thanks also to Fast Track Hobbies in Rocklin, CA for their wonderful inventory and service.
2022 is the year with the first RTR Basher that does so well in terms of the setup, stand, electronics, tires(!) and durability. GOOD JOB Arrma, you just raised the bar by a lot. Killer bashing Rich as always, just raises the mood while hearing you laugh and the rig scream 👍💪 😘
Thanks so much much dear Kimberly 😍. This is easily the funnest, most impressive RTR I've ever bashed 🥰🥰. I actually dig the styling of it too 👀. Really just ramps up the scale fun factor. The cage design truly adds massively to the overall function and durability. The tires are ridiculously fast with perfect grip and slip 👌. ARRMA nailed it. Very easy to love this one. 😘😘😎💪👊👊

Rich is the most fun driver to watch, hands down! I think he does so much handling with his rigs because he gets to full speed... then the momentum carries a lot of the handling... obstacles are less impeding with that momentum... then Rich just does his awesome corrections based on what's needed to react... the rest of us don't have the courage to slam that throttle and so we have to do a lot more work... we still have to correct, but also bother with changing levels of momentum and inertia... Rich gets those factors right the eff out of the way!!! I really hope to try that some day... maybe I'll start with a cheap durable 12th scale or something... Thank you, Rich, as always!!!
@@JenniferHenberger Yes, you are absolutely right Jennifer. Small jumps with short reaction times can be more dangerous and I have seen a lot of breakages on way less height. 👍
Just watched both of your vids Brother Rich! Killer shakedown run and bench first look! Arrma has really nailed it with this platform!😍The 1/7 scale is probably the best overall! Love my 1/7 Talion XL and Mojave!🤗 She glides and drives so well! Very balanced! Good call on moving the battery tray back!🤙Killer run in this vid! She definitely took a hammering to be all stock RTR😱 I had a blown bearing and shaft pop too..ended up roasting the rear ring gear but since replaced and shimmed both diffs with the 13x16 shims.😎Can't wait to run this rig again! Bad winter storm this weekend so maybe she can have a snow mission!🤣Killer run and launches. Love the on board footage too! Bash on bro!😎💪🤘🚀🚀

Felt absolutely horrible shooting the bench vid and was sweating like a pig that first shakedown even loaded up on meds 😂. So grateful to be feeling better 🙏. Absolutely LOVING this new FT 😍. Definitely need to shim my ring gears soon. I actually dropped 2 Mugen Seiki planetary shims on just the cup side of my center diff when doing my tune. The hobbie has to create outside of licensing for a lot of ideas all its life.
This same over all design can be put into other body structures & overall design (endoskeleton to be more precise)
@@Chon-c yes indeed Brother 👊. I never really judged her on face value. Obviously I noticed the figurines and side by side styling, but the geometry and impact design is what really grabbed my attention. This was a bold release for ARRMA no question and not everyone will love her appearance. Personally, I think lots of people's mindset will change in person or seeing first-hand the performance up close.

This thing is a beast! That was a bash and then some, wow. I knew you would cut loose with it sooner than later amazing. Not much damage and an epic beating. I like the Maxx Rigs but it's nice to see you back on the Arrma side of the street Rich! One of your best bashes.
Thanks so much Harry 😜. This rig is absolutely performing 😱. Haven't been this impressed with a new release, possibly ever 👀. I had several hard, rock and rut landings and hits and she just corrected and kept going. The cage has worked brilliantly helping absorb rolls and impacts. The way it integrates with the bumpers and frame is truly brilliant 👌. Biggest thing is the pure FUN factor 😍. She's simply a Blast to rip around. Even with the stock 150A Spectrum electronics, she's getting it done big-time. 🍻🚀🚀😎💪👊👊

One Hella 2nd run with the Tactical Speed truck bro Rich. I'm super impressed with the toughness of the cage after going thru a beatdown. She is not obviously designed for moon launching but she's definitely quite capable of taking the air fearlessly. She's an absolutely Fun truck on the ground as well as in the air. Another amazing upload brother.

Good stuff as always, Rich! I'm glad to see you bashing at that spot...we thought it might be shut down since they have those fancy new signs now. I love the 3drc wing mount! The long screws that go through the shock tower into the diff case used to break every session, but with the 3drc mount, they just bend and it's much easier to fix.👍👍👍

Awesome bash Rich, i have to admit im shocked its still stock besides the gaskets and fluid, most id they put a stock arrma through those tumble or landings theyd break by then, besides obviously the bearing blowing, but the arms and chassis holding up is a welcomed surprise. I definitely think it has to do with the plastic bracing and that interbraced caged body. The plastic braces allow the chassis to flex back when its bending and go back where the aluminum wouldnt. They body did an awesome thing with that body and cage design
Thanks so much Brother 😜. I actually just got my HR Talion/Mojave braces in the mail today, but wasn't planning to mount them until the stockers let go 👍. The cage design is absolutely brilliant 👀. It actually serves as a brace for the frame I believe. So many contact points with the truck itself. The truck has several areas to absorb harsh impacts. The bumpers and body mounts alone are ultra beefy. The fact that the cage locks into the bumper by design truly strengthens everything. The rear side panels could use larger surface plastic or rubber washers 🤔. They have collared screws from the factory. I think you're right about the plastic braces. Hopefully they'll keep doing their job. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Might have to pickup the body, mounts and bumpers to go on my Mojave with Kraton suspension(never even ran the truck with stock stuff).
What I love about that unit is it reminds me of my team associated db8 similar style and the db8 has been super reliable for me , bought it when they first came out , still on stock diffs and only broken 1 front arm one rear hub . Epic bash rich 🤑

Edit: it's mind-blowing that Arrma has created a "scale" hard-core basher. Who would have thought that was possible? As you point out, the proportions required to get this scale rig looking right happen to be perfect for staying planted too!

Killer agree most people don't send there's anywhere near what you guys do even myself I bash hard sometimes but in a smaller environment . Amazing how much more rigid a exo skeleton body can have. Essentially its a true roll bar being used for same reasons as full scale buggy . Those storm troopers would have broken necks already without 😆 🤣

Awesome video rich and truck. What is the mod you did to your fan on the max 6 on orange darling. I keep tearing up fan blades on mine. Those wing mounts and bumper cushions from 3d rc are a game changer for the exb kraton. No more changing them out. They are absolutely the best option

Haven't been out for many bashes lately as we've had a hell of a summer here in Oz where we've been hittin' between 40-44C (104-111F) which was to much for the trucks. Still trialing my solid tires on the Infraction and they're holding up pretty well.

Why does no one mention the rear hand brake function ? Don’t think I’ve seen anyone use it yet or show what it does etc.All you guys got them free but all you want to do is send them skyward and there’s enough rigs already that can do that. Honestly I had this on pre order but changed my mind after watching the freebie vids sadly other than the cage it’s nothing new and nothing like you can’t di yourself but better like you did
I did mention the rear hand break in my bench video. I'm just not accustomed to using it. It's good for quickly sliding/turning 180° and changing directions or "evasive manuevers". That's not something I need to do to have fun driving the car. You might not realize the time and effort involved in shooting and editing videos. Awesome seeing some good sends with her and how well it takes it. I'm continuously impressed by arrmas innovative ideas and beefing up their rtr trucks. That body is so genius and I hope they incorporate its skeletal system into more rigs. I know the mojave has an awesome similar set up. And I was more than impressed with the o8s cage and how it helped. They are on top of the mountain with their ideas. I've super impressed with the engineering that went into the cage and how it supports the frame of the truck 😱. This rig is so dang FUN just to drive Brother!!!! Props to ARRMA for their continued innovation and willingness to take risks. Several online have been critical saying they don't like the looks and "this is nothing new". That's complete BS. This is the first "Kraton XL" based RTR rig they've offered and they took it a step further with a super durable design 💪. Well....we know critics like to complain 🤣. If you haven't driven or seen one in the flesh, you're judging a book by it's cover from a distance. The handling is like no other ARRMA to date. Guy's just don't know until they bash this sucker. How do those wing mounts handle. I was always weary of 3d printed wing mounts but I just need something better than the stock wing mounts
They're 3D printed using TPU I believe. So far they've done fantastic 👍. The bumper cushions (8s and 6s) have taken a ridiculous beating too 😱🤣. They simply don't break like the stockers and actually protect the truck from damage. 😎💪👊👊
Rich the stock electronics didn’t overheat with the 16t with that crazy bash did u take some breaks just wondering cause I want to run my Mojave and kraton with the optional pinions and stock spectrum electronics but I’m worried I will get that motor fried
My electronics have stayed under 110F 👀. I'm still totally shocked by that and kinda scratching my head to be honest. The tires have very little rolling resistance though and it's been pretty cool out. I will say the cage body actually has Killer air flow. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Really love this truck. My son and I drag raced our Fireteam vs. our E-Revo 2.0, at the end of the run he ran the fireteam full speed into a steel fence post. The left wheel/A-Arm etc. took the full hit. All that broke was part# AR330379, JUST the front suspension hanger.
In fact we only noticed a small piece of the hanger had snapped off leaving the left tire slightly wobbly 1 full run later!
Anyway, how did the diff fluid change to 500k effect the truck?

Brother that's an awesome story with a brutal impact 😱🤣🤣. Hitting solid objects usually ends very badly. The 500k center feels great. Limits ballooning and excessive power transfer to the front tires. Also enables easier backflips and wheelies if you like doing them. 😎💪👊👊

Hey man, I was wondering if there's a motor upgrade you would recommend for the big rock. Im trying to look for a setup that runs cool, 4s, and around 60mph. Thanks!
Id reccomend 2400 2650kv the larger can size will have you running cool with better fans and heat sink im running a stock motor on 4s sometimes alot depends on OA temperature and gearing too its 10 degrees here if I run RC's today I won't plug in any fans 60 mph over 50 you may still have to pay attention to that stuff .
I'm running a Hobbystar 3670 3050kv from RCJUICE and it hauls ass on 4s 😱. Mine is paired with a BLX185 ESC, but you can also use a smaller 120A version. Think I'm running an 18T mod .8 pinion. 😎💪👊👊

That 3050 motor from rc juice is better I was just experiment with the rtr motors im going hit rc juice up today , tower hobbies too has sale on tools over today 3 m.ips ball end drivers 35 bucks the durabro also . Hinge pins some other key parts from m2racing .

Hey Rich love the vids but a quick question, after desiding to get back in to the hobby and buying the kraton 6s blx v5, I keep running in the issue of my stock motor getting really hot after 10 mins of regular bashing on stock gearing. I tried the optional 15t that comes in the box but that just heats up the system to quick (max 5 mins of running) I added a powerhobby heatsink with double fans and that helps a bit. Is there anything else to change to be able to run the 15t for a longer time or do I need to change the esc / motor setup for that. Im also looking into getting the backflip lp's and tuning the difs.
Hey Thomas 🤗. Great choice with the Kraton. It's normal for the electronics to feel hot after 5-10 minutes. Make sure to use an infrared temp gun to track more exacting numbers. 150-160F max motor temps is fine. Above 170F is too hot. If you're running on grass, temp control becomes challenging. Make certain your bearings are healthy and mesh isn't too tight. The stock Spectrum 2050kv is just big enough to handle the truck with proper gearing and wheels. Backflip LP's are fantastic for shedding weight and taking strain off the entire truck. They're extremely planted and handle awesome 😍. There's lots of high torque larger motor options that are more efficient. The Max6 4985 1650kv combo has become one of my favorites. With a 20-22T pinion you have gobs of power with much more efficient temp control. 🍻😎💪👊👊

No heat issues here. I recommend using an infrared temp gun anyways just to track your temps periodically. There's lots of variables that impact temps. So long as your motor stays below 160F and ESC around 140F, you're fine. 🍻

My Orange Darling XL is sporting a classic Proline 1972 Chevy C-10 long bed. Had to cut the rear fenders straight back and mount it truggy style. It fits like a glove. Hugs the mudguards so it doesn't flap and parachute on huge sends. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Put a construction level on it so we know how bowed that chassis is. We need to see what that $800 price tag means in durability.
I don't need a level to know when a chassis's bent. Most times a stamped aluminum chassis will start to bow if you're doing enough big jumps. There's nothing new about that fact. This one hasn't bowed yet. Only thing I noticed at home was a rear chassis ear did bend upwards. Probably landed right on a rock from height. Seen it before. The truck took a considerable beating and didn't break (besides a blown bearing). If you don't believe the truck is durable, go drive one. 😎💪👊👊
