A friend recommended your channel and I'm glad I listened. Great information and goodbess those. Variegated Monstera are beautiful. Thanks for sharing☺👍❤.
Thanks so much for joining the channel! And please thank your friend on my behalf for the recommendation. Yes, lots and lots of beautiful plants hiding in private collections out there. I'm going to try to share as much as I can. Cheers!
I recently moved to the Netherlands from So Cal and I am totally amazed to see how large the size of variegated Monstera for sale here in the stores. There were two 110cm tall Monstera Pertusum Variegata at a local garden center "Intratuin" for 299 euros each!! One is now sitting in the corner of our living room near a skylight. Beautiful healthy plant I just can't stop looking at it all day.
Jimmy, I just got a looks like more of a marble veragations Albo in a 4" pot..she got 5 leaves 🍃. Thanks you so much for this video I really appreciated. I am looking for ways best to care for this plant and this video helps.
Another very informative video!.Thanks Doc! Please keep it coming 💚💚💚 May I request a video of the possible options of lighting we can use indoors especially now winter is around the corner 😓 Thank you!!
Supplemental lighting is a big can of worms with a lot of different opinions out there and very scarce good information sources, as I’m sure you already know. I am not really lighting dependent where I live so I haven’t investigated this topic as deeply as I should. I shall try to get to it but probably won’t make it in time for winter unfortunately. I’m sorry :(
Thanks Doc - it's so interesting that there are so many variations, and so good to know this!!! Learning a lot and enjoying you and your videos! God bless and happy growing ❤
Hi..very informative channel. I also keep a few variegated md. Im not sure exactly what kind. Just got them at a plant stall in the market a few years ago. May i send you some pics?
the big sizes you show are priced like $150 and up here in Belgium at the moment. I bought a cutting (3 leaves) for around $10 the other weekend!! I want to see how i do with a small cutting instead of dishing on a big plant. Here in Belgium not many people will spend that much money on plants, i thought $150 is outrageous ! Until i saw USA pricing - yikes!
help my brother, what is the solution of the leaves being damaged like this, at first the edges are scorched and I scissor, before I scissor, I cut the scissors first using 70% alcohol and the result is actually like this after I cut it, thank you
I agree, it's a beauty vs function spectrum and all our preferences fall in-between. Your comment about how to make them grow faster did inspire a video idea last night. I"ll try to get to it soon. Thanks for commenting. Cheers man!
question : are there various types of albo borsigianos ? why are some albos called white tiger? do you know the white tigers origin? and if there are differnt types of albos ? which are they ?
Great video! 👍You are funny! I think these variegated plants are beautiful to look at and I am happy they give people joy but they are not for me. 🤷🏻♀️I can’t stress about browning leaves or root rot. 😬So I’m glad you are honest in your videos. 👍One day when my kids (⛹️♂️🏊♂️🤸♀️🏂)are all grown up I’ll build my own conservatory 😂 For now I grow little people and what plants I can take care of along side them. 🌱♥️
Yeah I totally understand. I’m probably going to downsize my collection soon as well. If I had kids, I definitely couldn’t do it with my space and work schedule. Cheers!
My Thai constellation has just got a new /its first latching pole to grow on. But instead of moss pole its a coconut fibre fibre pole. Will it happily grow on it overtime?
Yes, any pole would do. The moss, and coconut fiber, doesn't really do much except to provide more padding and it's easier for the roots to adhere to. Cheers!!
Highly. They are the only ones I use for aroids. The only time I would consider glazed or other kind is with alocasias. That said, some places are too hot and and dry, and using terra will dry out the soil too much. So see what works for you. Cheers!
I have photos of a large Thai Constellation I can share - it's not mine but is for sale at our local garden store. It's very rare for us to see them for sale.
Hi! Unfortunately my preference for the share videos are only of plants in personal collections, so not in shops or grower nurseries for sale. I want to showcase that all plants can be loved and connected to by their owners regardless of their size and condition. Hope you understand. Cheers!
I have a problem that is quite different with my variegated monsters- the new leaves are all white they don’t last very long- they brown and die off after 1-2 months. This has happened a few times now, and as a result I have a long, skinny plant with not much leaf growth in the middle sections (since they were all white leaves that I have since trimmed off). Anyone else face similar issues?
This is pretty common and people refer to it as "the white curse" lol. If I had a plant as you described, I would probably chop it up and propagate it. That will hopefully solve the all-white problem as well as the aesthetic issues. Cheers!
Youre totaly wright, Iam from the Netherlands, Plants (even like these) and Orchids are very cheap. We buy them and forget to nurse them and we buy them again... because they are very cheap and our country grows them. Sorry about that. Love from Amsterdam
Love that you make different and knowledge oriented content. LOVE.
Thank you so much! Glad you are finding the content somewhat useful 🤗🤗

New here!!! Love your channel ♥️♥️♥️
Welcome and thanks so much for the support!!
I've been searching this kind of plant. May I know where you bought this? I'm from Canada.
you should search on online market places like ebay, craigslist, or your special store (but those would be expensive)
Of course I see this 10 minutes after I cut off the first two leaves that grew out of my cutting because they're completely green.
What kind of a stake that the roots were grabbing onto. Beautiful plants.
It’s just a moss pole that my friend bought on amazon. You can also make them yourself.
Woah how am I just meaning about these! Beautiful, where do you buy these?
Variegation vs green for me is pretty much beauty vs function. Wish you can also do a video on how to make these babies grow faster.
I agree, it's a beauty vs function spectrum and all our preferences fall in-between. Your comment about how to make them grow faster did inspire a video idea last night. I"ll try to get to it soon. Thanks for commenting. Cheers man!
Very informative video. I really like that you visit other peoples gardens too. Is Jay selling monstera alboas?
Thanks for watching! None of the albos in the vid are for sale, or at least not to my knowledge.

We have big plants of that here in dubai. But for me its expensive.
hi. i would love to send you a video of my collection if you like to add in your next video. :-). of my monsteras.

Jimmy, do you recommend terra cotta pots?

Yes, I know that albos are so cheap in your country and I really don’t know why. They are as cheap or cheaper than even in Thailand!
