Been watching some your videos, your patio looks great and I like the whole garden n flower planting. I had luck with sunflowers in past but haven't planted any in years, tho I hear Russian Mammoth Sunflowers are best because they grow thick stalks. Not sure exactly what you use to grow carrots cause I tried a couple times and I watered n watered n watered some carrot seeds and finally I dug the dirt up and there was like a very tiny baby carrot in the ground which never appeared on top soil. Not sure what went wrong but I gave up on it, have lot of rocks which may be the reason. Far as mosquitos have you ever tried burning those big vanilla or lavender candles? Cause mosquitos don't like the smell of them. Even those yard tiki torches seem good to use as well, hope gives you some ideas to try
Thank you - I will have to try the candles and sunflowers! I grew carrots in super fresh compost blend in a raised bed, so the rocks may be working against you. This year they will be going in a new bed with new soil. I saw a trick of keeping a thin piece of wood/board over them until they germinate and that worked well for me to at least get them to come up. Thanks for the suggestions!
