    8:26 nice... you just push a button & the cars ahead of you disappear... I wish I had that button in my car.

    Look at the streetcar on the opposite track at 1:00:12 leaning over and then wobbling from side to side as it takes the curve! Jeez! Is that normal? Not something I can say that I’ve witnessed.

      Interesting. Chicago L trains do that going around the 90° curves in the Loop all the time.

    If I wanted to do a front view ride, would all I need to do would be the ask the driver for permission?

    Hi transittoronto can TTC streetcars honk? If so what do they sound like?

  • @3985uprr

    Are those cars user-friendly for doing front views without getting in peoples way? Seems like most drivers are cool with that.

    • @transittoronto
      @transittoronto  Год назад +1

      No. I had to make arrangements and ask permission of the driver in order to film this. It's one reason why we have more GO Transit timelapses than streetcar timelapses. The fact that GO uses double-decker buses gives us a front window on the second deck where we can film without bothering the driver.

      @@transittoronto More interested in rail vehicles. I know you can do them fairly easy on TTC Line 2. Any plans to replace those older subway cars??

      @@3985uprr Definitely look around Steve Munro's site for more information (stevemunro.ca). The Bloor-Danforth trains are getting old and will be in need of replacement or refurbishment soon. There were plans to purchase replacements, but that's on hold, for now. I could see new equipment being in place by the time the extension opens after 2030.

      @@transittoronto I’m going up this week and I’d like to do one of these so of course I would ask the driver if I could do this if that’s all that’s necessary

    How is payment made? Is it to the driver with card only, or does everything have to be prepaid if so, who checks all the tickets?

    • @transittoronto

      There are fare readers at every entrance that accept Presto Cards and (later in 2023) accept automatic credit card payments. There are also machines where you can pay your cash fare and get a receipt. For fare enforcement, periodically fare enforcement officers will board the streetcar to check people's Presto cards or receipts, and fine you if you can't prove you paid (they do give warnings to start).
