Great video my son just got a 1/6 Baja Rey and servo went out now I just used your links to buy this setup can’t wait to try it out thank you for your help
That aluminum mount will change the position of where the original servo horn sat. I needed to make a new adjustable link from the servo horn to the bellcrank in order to restore the steering geometry.
The steering bellcrank was modified to keep it the same that took the most time of everything to get working right or about 4 nights up until gone 2am and close to 18 strip downs until the tolerances were right
@@DriftomaniacsRC Ok, I'm glad you did that. I thought you would have mentioned that in the video. I didn't know when I did mine last year and I couldn't figure out why the travel to the left was so different than the right 😄
Thx That's good to know Stock servo gears stripped on my SRRv2 Definetly keeping that ajustable link in my cart, first thought it might be unnessesary with The stock link being quite beefy as is. Also getting The aluminium bellcranc assembly as The stock one is crap and with The spring tightend firmly The part connecting the tie rods to the bellcranc wears out The plastic holes with The sleeves (bellcranc side) and creates about 1-2cm of play at The front end of The tyres resulting in Hard to go in straight lines and goes crasy on uneven Rocky trails $1000 truck quickly turns into $1500+ with a few upgrades and batteries but i still love it more than any other rc
You can use the stock mount if you "stretch" it a bit. I have a hitec D845WP in it, or rather it came in the truck when I bought it used & to my surprise it was fitted to the stock mount. I have bought several of the servos as well & they are definitely faster & stronger than the hitec (& you can get 4 of them for the price of the hitec)
Maybe an upgrade I should look up. I've got both the SRR and the SBR. Pretty sure my servo is dieing in my SRR. After I fitted an aluminum bellcrank, it didn't turn as good. Maybe my bellcrank spring might be a little soft too. I'll get err figured out.
Just in case: the red aluminum arm used requires a M2 (2mm diameter screw and nut). I'm not for certain if the linkage pivot joints used in the video were M2, M3, or M4. Either way this video helped me tremendously. Thanks Rich
I’ve literally upgraded everything I could. Just now spun the gears in the servo box lol went on vitavon racing site and ordered everything they had which cost over 1200$ but well worth it in the end. Haven’t broke a single part since upgrading. You will want knuckles and the steering arm for sure. It’s front heavy and likes to nose dive. Super fun truck though. I know this is old comment but hope you actually got it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@Miltown4114 Nope, never got it. I did, however, get/install all the Vitavon upgrades for my Baja Rey. As for the Super Rock Rey, other things caught more of my interest...such as the HPI Baja 5B (which I still haven't purchased), Arrma Limitless, and a few (ok, more than a few) boats. The shirt of it is, I've gone from "surface only", onto the water, and into the air.
Is it possible to put other style bodies on the super rock Rey. I’m particular an xmaxx body or a Baja Rey body? A friend of mine asked me and I have no experience w this car. Seems to have a very specific shape not to mention the shocks through the front.
Typhon by far, seems the same under the skin but Typhon seems to handle better and if you want to 'go fast' it's certainly the better car. 100mph with a few upgrades, Senton would want to lift at speed due to the parachute effect of the body

Thanks very much for the information.. had the same problem in my losi.. mount and servo ordered . Very useful video mate..
No problem 👍
Richie any tips on setting up this servo??? I've fitted the same upgrade however my steering is now worse than before.
Good stuff Richie, I remember u telling us about this on Fridays hangout
Nice RC and great upgrade
Hey friend what nut and bolt did you use to connect the servo arm and savor together
Richard just the stock one I think, but don't hold me to that it was a long while back
@@DriftomaniacsRC thank you. It's not the stock one but I appreciate the quick response.

Once I can afford the Super Rock Rey, the servo (and bracket) will be once of my first upgrades.

Xmaxx body? No way!. You could call horizon to see if baja rey body would fit.
Do you have a link to the servo mount you used
Here you are this is the exact one - bit.ly/2uWHrpM
Do you like the Arrma typhon or the senton More ? And Why ?

Driftomaniacs Thank you very much so I think i am going to buy the typhon.
its 10 times easier to work with the cage off..
For sure! but it took a long time just to get the body off as it was. I'd not take the cage off unless I had to due to the time it'd take
Not a fan of that paint scheme. Looks like a Barbie truck!
