Love this hobby. Have an American project going on, Optimus pro lx5:), with its special treble. Have small Danish vintage speakers, eg Scan Dyna(Dynaco)A-10(1971), Beovox 2200(1969) and my absolute favorite Beovox 1100(1970).
Glad you enjoyed the video. You may want to check out my video for the Optimus Pro LX 10 that I have. That Linaeum tweeter is quite amazing. I’m sure the Dynaco speakers are very nice as well. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Sorry for my late reply. The zenith Speakers are quite underrated In my opinion. they had very good woofers and the electronics to match also seemed very capable. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Someone just gave me a pair of those Genesis 1's that need new surrounds. I hooked them up to test them and they sound great, except of course lacking bass due to the surrounds totally turned to dust. Should I just replaced the surrounds with ten dollar rubber ones from Amazon ? Also they seem to be packed with some material in the cabinets behind the speaker, I guess that should be replaced as well ? Smells like a mouldy basement now in my house LOL. Also I've found some great speakers at thrift stores in the past, even a pair of B&Ws which were like new for $9.00.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Seems like you are blessed! There is nothing wrong with the rubber ones. Over a very long timeframe some people claim the rubber surrounds sag and you need to rotate the drivers in their cases. You can still buy inexpensive foam surrounds and have good results. Don't bother trying to find the original Genesis green foams. I searched for 6 months looking all over the world and could not find them. You can use the standard grey/black ones from Amazon or Ebay. You can pay more from the big name Internet audio suppliers, but they are no better IMHO. Check out my Cerwin Vega video for an important repair tip if you never did a re-foaming before.
@@new2uspeakers Great ! Thanks for the info. Never done this repair before, so I'll check out your Cerwin Vega video. Speaking of Cerwin Vega, I found a pair of those as well at a thrift shop way back that looks like someone had refoamed. (12 inch 2 way) The only way I'm really happy with them is to run them with two other speakers like old school front and rear because of the huge bass they put out. Or just turn the bass way down. I think they have a reputation for that. I really appreciate the advice. Subbed. Have a great day !
Finally got around to doing the repair, went the rubber route, and they sound pretty amazing. I think I might be reluctant to let them go for awhile. I'm running them with no damper material at the moment until I hunt some down and get around to that. Thanks for all the advice, stay safe.
Thanks for watching and commenting!!! The answer is Absolutely. I have no doubt they will work exceptionally well for pompano fishing. However, I’m not sure what music playlist will work well for pompano catching!!! I believe the whistle combined with hand wave signals is likely more effective. Either that or Fishbites.

BTW, you can easily remove and replace the stuffing with either Polyfil or Mineral Fiber like Roxul and it will get rid of most of the smell.
@@new2uspeakers Thanks, I'm going to be putting on gloves and squinting for this, who knows what lurks inside these boxes.😱
