2:35 oh no Jev it’s not.. the game got its live service cut to move the team over to Battlefield 2042. There was much more planned. We were supposed to get ahsoka, ventress, mace windu, a second phase in Age of Rebellion Supremacy, and more.. but it all got buried.. for Battlefield 2042.

I remember pretty vividly the outpouring of complaints for three years from the community about this game and how it was a terrible experience that couldn't match up to any Battlefront game before it so I think the overtly reactionary nature of fanbases (especially one as emotionally compromised as the chimera of DICE Star Wars fans) didn't help. It's a shame that this game was abandoned but it was never exactly beloved during its lifespan.
@Holdthetomatoesplzdepends on what time period you played it in, the first 2-3 years we’re definitely rough and there were a lot of complaints, but the latter half of its life it was widely accepted to be a great battlefront experience. Of course it has its issues but by the time they cut service the game was at its all time peak in popularity, and gameplay experience. It was talked about in the same conversations as No Man’s Sky when it comes to the redemption of a game that was terrible at launch.
@peaktoxicity9253 Well the game released in November of 2017 and they stopped with content updates in April of 2020, so that is perfectly within the "first 2-3 years" you mention, which is kind of my point. The game has been unchanged since April of 2020 but people treat it like something happened since then that made the game somehow better, with the only thing I can think of being the release of 2042 showing players that Battlefront 2 wasn't as awful as it was made out to be. But by then, the damage was already done. I'm not defending DICE or anything, and I want good games as much as anyone else, but people refuse to understand that bitching and moaning about a game during its lifespan, and then getting upset at the devs for cutting support after the fact, is at least partially to blame for what happened. Granted, this was during a time of some clear visionary tension at DICE, between Battlefront 2, BFV, and eventually 2042. But it also goes to show the logical dissonance in how people treat games: No Man's Sky is a perfect example of how it actually pays gamers to just shut up for once in their lives so that devs don't feel forced to abandon projects to appease people asking for something new. Unfortunately, while DICE really failed this game, I think the extremely lower player counts and high levels of negativity from the more vocal part of the community played a part in that.

Anakin in battlefront 2 was the most overpowered hero in the early days. I remember seeing that blue lightsaber and immediately running the other direction only to be slaughtered like the poor helpless clanker I was. I've seen max Anakin's stay the hero the entire supremacy game and end up with fucking 300 kills by the end of it. It truly was the closest lore accurate experience to being a nameless droid that gets slaughtered by some edgy jedi orphan with anger issues.

My first Anakin experience scared me so bad. Lots of gunfire and my minimap showed 10+ blue dots in a room with 1 red dot, and then all of a sudden all firing stops and the blue dots in the room on my map disappeared. Then Anakin turns the corner and starts running down the hall towards me, felt like a horror movie.
Broken in supremacy that’s filled with bots, play GA you won’t be alive long people can actually aim and grief you with shotguns until they run you down. 🤣

BF2 player since launch here,
This game was a freaking rollercoaster from day one. From the Palpatine chain lightning through walls glitch, to the grievous crawl glitches, to Anakin sending the game into another dimension of brokenness, it kinda makes me less sympathetic to a bunch of the other communities out there who complain about ONE thing being broken, as opposed to an entire game.
Not to mention the fact that at a certain point everyone’s progression got wiped, so you had to start from square one all over again, which was painful.
All that said, BF2 was and is one of the most epic multiplayer experiences I have ever played and I haven’t gotten as genuinely excited about another game since.
As a BF2 player since launch, I never seen a game being patched so much for unbalanced stuff. I been through hell and back playing the game that I didn't play it for a year but when anakin released, it was like I was playing a semi finished game. It was a breath of fresh air compared from 2017-2019. I don't play it anymore but man, the memories I had with this game, was spectacular.

THIS IS MY FAVOURITE GAME. "REINFORCEMENTS HAVE ARRIVED!" Max level is 1000 for all units Jev. Co-op is the best mode to get weapon attachments and character levels.

Backlash on the loot drops in this game was so insane, to the point that goverments and gambling authoritis got involved. Battlefront 2 was close to being banned in some EU countries if they wouldn't have changed the loot drops and card systems. Shit was crazy actually
It was basically a casino game with an age rating for PG-13💔.
The mode you are playing can legitimately have games that never end. Theres a neutral map, whatever side wins that is basically at match point. Win again and its over. If they lose, it goes back to the "neutral" map. Can see some crazy high kill games without using something cheesy.

Its why I haven't played it and never will. I'm just done with that type of company. I've got loads of indies and new releases from less shady companies. Its killed any urge or connection I've had to play the game.

It would’ve been fine if the systems in the game weren’t atrocious if we would’ve got this version of the game plus the levels and grind to unlock hero’s then maybe it would’ve felt rewarding to play and get hero’s high level but no we had dudes that dropped an extra 50-200$ paying to win

BF2 veteran here. The only game I've ever pre-ordered was Battlefront II and I pre-ordered the deluxe, so I was HYPED. I stuck with Battlefront II from the beta to now, and it's been incredible seeing the resurgence. This game was and is a dream and most people agree that it was cut down in its prime. The bugs, microtransactions, and balancing issues were a massive hurdle, but Battlefront 2 has always been a pocket of the Star Wars fandom for people to come together and love this universe. Glad you're enjoying it. And if you need inspiration to keep vouching for Battlefront III, just look up Nemik's Manifesto.

Nah, Clone Wars maps in my experience are the most balanced maps, worst offender is GA Kamino. Any First Order/Resistance map is way more unbalanced.

Coop is the best way to level. IMO it’s not always the most challenging mode but it is still a blast to play

Btw jev at least from when I used to play, the officer class was the strongest because they grant the most points to be able to get to jedis quicker and they have a full auto pistol that’s actually pretty good. They have this one ability where it grants the people around them more health and it gives you tons of points and just helps the team overall. Hope this helps and have fun!

Top tip: the best way to level up classes and guns is by playing co-op mode. The enemies are easy to kill and it’s easy to gain XP.

Jev I recommend to play the specialist characters and Jedi when possible. Your infantry will always be there to select and they level up quickly. It can be a good warmup to play co-op as it plays the same as a multiplayer game and you can progress and unlock star cards fast. Please like so jev can see 🙏🙏🙏

7:21 other elite class can kill jet troopers a little easier. Enforcers and infiltrators do a lot more damage have more health and much stronger abilities. I’d recommend the enforcer I think they’re very fun and they can heal up a lot but you might enjoy infiltrators more they have very good tactical stuff like seeing through walls or smoking stuff out. Also i think you can hit thier jet pack while they’re using it and it goes wild and kills them but idr

It's so tragic how EA shot themselves in the foot with the launch of this game. I bought it on launch and its gameplay was always there, but the monetization fucked it so hard. If they had the good monetization on launch, I'm convinced the game would still be receiving content updates to this day.

No it wouldnt. EA cut every dev support for BF2042. BF2s updates were being well received. It just wasn't enough of a priority for their main title.

3:03 I played in the beta and I’m pretty sure the micro transactions just weren’t in the game for it. Maybe they thought players would get angry and return the pre order or maybe the content you could pay for wasn’t playable in the beta, either way it made the beta more enjoyable than the game when it fully launched
