Darrell Hammond did much better as Clinton and Gore. Ferrel as Bush was funny but a bit too silly, like Adam Sandler level silly.
@Ultizer it's very possible that others did better impersonations. From my European perspective, though, W was just as silly IRL, that's why I rate Ferrell so high.
I met one of the State Dept career officials involved in this negotiation. It was a very sticky and tense situation. It could have turned out much worse. I’m just glad everyone got out alive.

This episode is from pretty early in the Bush Administration (pre-9/11). But that only shows that it didn’t take long for Ferrell to get good at impersonating him.

It's interesting to see a cultural artifact from that brief twilight dream-like moment when the post-Cold War era ended and just before the post-9/11 era began. It was all so irrelevant and looking back on it, even the people living through it thought of it as irrelevant as they lived it.
