A couple of weeks ago i chatted with a Model Y LR owner at the car wash. „I used to drive Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series before. Not the cheap ones, but in the 60-70 Thousand Euro sticker price range. But this Model Y is the best car i ever had!“
I have a Model Y LR. I have owned in the past Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, Kia, Chevrolet. This Tesla is hands down blowing away everything I have ever owned before. It is the best car I have ever had, and I can never go back. And on top of that, buying this car was instant and effortless by comparison to any other car I have ever purchased, without any dealership BS. Why anyone would drive anything else baffles me at this point, but... to each their own.
My Tesla Model 3 High Performance is the most fun, exhilarating car I have ever had in so many ways. Truly the first car where my passengers and I get to laugh and get thrilled while feeling the safest you can feel while driving it. A true gem and yes the best car in the world!
It is what makes Tesla different from every other auto manufacturer, they are not afraid to make mistakes as long as they learn from them and then make the car better. It is a mindset that comes from Elon Musk.
they also dont spend much, if anything, on marketing so they arent “buying good reviews” from sites that run off advertisements … which is almost everyone
At least in the US…there’s no other car you can buy new for about $45,000 that gives you almost 600hp and 600lb instant torque with AWD. And it’s still comfortable and functional enough to be used as your daily driver. The Model 3 Performance is a deal of the century. That BMW is nearly twice the price but not twice the car. The value just isn’t there.
It’s funny to think back to Bob Lutz smugly remarking that Tesla was about to learn just how hard manufacturing was, famously quipping “The big boys are coming.”
The biggest accomplishment is that they can make it at a very competitive price while still making a healthy profit. None of the others (except BYD) are even close to showing a profit on a single EV yet.
@@stevenblackthorne4790Bob was on one hand totally correct. As Elon himself said, prototypes are easy, production is hell. Elon lost 3 years of his life to production hell. But Tesla came out the other side and not only survived, but thrived. That is where Bob got it wrong. His view was Tesla would never catch the legacy automakers when it came to production, or they would stroll past Tesla because it would take so long for them to solve production.
Around 7:10. My 2021 Tesla Model Y is the absolute BEST car I have ever driven. By far. So, Tesla hasn't 'learned to build cars'. They had it down from the beginning and it's only going to get better. Even with my 2021 Tesla.
The price difference between that BMW M3 Competition and the Model 3 Performance is even bigger if you include optional equipment and fuel/service savings. In my EU country theat BMW starts at 143.000 € (bare bones edition) and the Model 3P at 57.490 euro (and the Tesla here has a 9-11.000E subsidy + zero taxes!!!). If you add extras (you can easily add 15-20K to bring the equipment level up to M3P level), fuel (cost difference for 20K km/year in 5 years is ~20.000 €) and service costs (at least 5K) then the BMW gets easily over 3 times more expensive!
Great content, as usual… I kindly pointed out the spelling error in your thumbnail subtitle… “Petrol”, not “patrol”. Again, thanks for all the great content, never missed an episode!
