- The Azure AD and MSOnline PowerShell Modules will be depreciated soon. The replacement is the Microsoft Graph PowerShell module based on the Microsoft Graph API. This video is for those new to the Microsoft Graph API. The video starts by reviewing the change and outlining differences between the Azure AD and MSOnline modules and the new Microsoft Graph module. We then move on to examples using groups. We search for a group, add a group, update group membership, and then remove the group.
00:00 - Start
04:33 - Install PowerShell 7
06:37 - Install the Graph SDK
07:29 - Set API Version
08:08 - Connect to Microsoft Graph
09:45 - Search for a Group in Azure AD
12:54 - Create a Group in Azure AD
14:01 - Update a Group in Azure AD
16:53 - Remove a Group in Azure AD

Great video, you really explained the platform well. Side note: Depreciated refers to a reduction in monetary value, while deprecated refers to something that is to be obsolete. (wish this could have been a private message)
You are the best, Travis! I saw about thousands of your videos. Very technical very detailed! Great job!!!
Great walkthrough Travis!
Awesome training, as always! TY Travis!!!
My pleasure!!
Well explained, very good lesson
🤩🥳😎yay something for me newbie in those two :) great vid
I needed to understand how to search for the type of event that occurred with a schedule.
For example, when it is canceled there is the iscanceled attribute, but for appointments that have been declined and are still listed on the calendar, how do I get their declined status? I already did a search and didn't find this.
My purpose is to program a script to search for declined appointments and delete them automatically.
I'm doing this in Powershell
This is a great video @travis. It would be amazing if you could create a video on how to set up a AAD application and then use the AAD application properties to connect to AAD automatically without having to manually enter your user creds (i.e. Connect-MgGraph -ClientId -TenantId ). There are little to no tutorials on this
Hi, Can you make a tutorial about: Azure Automation Accounts + Installing required Modules + System Assigned managed identity + accessing Azure AD and query objects (using Connect-mgGraph and like get-mgUser)
how did you get the dropdown menu to switch between versions? my vs code only has them in separate sessions
get-mgprofile is no longer a valid command. Nice video!!!
can we disable the o365 Group ? these groups are created when Yammer group created. I want people should not Request to Join the group. If I can disable the group i hope people would not able to see the community nor join the group.
can you make a video on how to send emails?
And this is all scriptable without interactively logging in into AAD?
Sure. But you need to register the app into your tenant. As far as I know there's no way to authenticate with user//password credentials like azuread and msol services.
What a dumpster fire....just randomly deprecate entire command sets that everyone uses...who at Microsoft comes up with all of this crap...Jesus......
deprecate vs depreciate.....Holy Christ dude.....Depreciate -The monetary value of an asset decreases over time due to use, wear and tear or obsolescence....that is accounting....The correct word is deprecation - the classification of a software feature as obsolete and best avoided, typically because it has been superseded....use a dictionary.....
