Because shoes are meant to be worn, pottery is meant to be used, furniture is made to be sat upon- just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean that everyone who has it will keep it in a glass case and never let it see daylight. And it’s better to spend 5k on shoes, wear them, and spend 1-2k repairing them than it is to just buy more shoes when the first get worn out. We don’t need any more shoes or clothing in landfills.

They’re meant to be enjoyed and repaired for as long as they can be and then hopefully repurposed, and continuing to make life better for people.

However, personally in my style I prefer the previous look of it,as it shows the patina of the shoe.For me just fixing the sole is enough as it is much of an Archival piece doesn't really need to be new to be shown off.

the logos are printed/painted on, it will not patina. use a waterproofing/stain repellent spray for leather. keep clean as possible but don't scrub. "The print will wear off with time and there isn't much you can do. maybe a leather conditioner to prevent cracking

Usually before wear, spray scotch waterproofing spray and it helps protect it from water and other damage.
