Pittsburgh native here, love going to Jerry's for a little record hunt but haven't been able to get back for a while. Jerry just passed away recently sadly, hopefully his son or whoever took over the store keeps it going for years to come.
I'm not sure if his son runs it. but he retired from owning the store in 2017, few years or so before he passed . A guy named Chris runs it now and he's great also. Rip jerry Weber. I've been shopping with him since 1991 when I when I was only 11 years old. Started visiting him more often after I turn 21.
I visited here sometime around 2016 and mainly just dug through the 45 boxes. Got one by the group The Palace Guard, as I recall. Wish I had had more time to look. I had my best luck at Attic Records in nearby Millville.
That store is huge. Back in the ''80s or '90s, I visited Pittsburgh and did some crate digging. I've always thought 45 collecting was big in the area because the stores I visited all had huge and well organized selections of 45s. Also, getting around was a nightmare because of the road layouts -- it would be a lot easier now with GPS.
They had a ton of 45’s. Just didn’t have time to browse through them unfortunately. I really could have spent all day at this store. Quite the selection!
Awesome man , great store you picked where I live. Great finds too - I discovered curiosity killed the cat at the Andy Warhol Museum here in Pittsburgh they actually play episodes of his TV shows where they were featured on it. I love that Circle album especially turn down day, and baby you're free. Big record and sneaker collector here. Thanks for visiting my city, looking forward to checking out more of your Channel.
Thanks Chuck! I didn’t even know Andy Warhol had a tv show? I have been a fan of CKTC since the 80’s but very few people have heard of them. Thanks for watching!
I've heard of Jerry's Records via RUclips about 10 or so years ago. Unfortunately I haven't been able to stop in, I've only been to Pennsylvania once, and that was to visit relatives in Allentown, so we drove right past Pittsburgh. Oh well, next time! Great scores! Have fun in PA!
Definitely a radio station or two sold them their vinyl library. Lots of obscure late 70's & 80's bands in the bins. Sometimes , those Promo 12" have awesome non-LP & live tracks. One of my favorite obscure artists , David Werner is from Pittsburgh , PA.
Yes, there were more than a few promo 12” singles. I agree, there are some interesting non-album tracks to be found on most of them. Wish I’d had more time to browse!
Wow, this is great Jeff, I lived in Pittsburgh for six years. Wow, that place is HUGE! You have to find something there. There are a bunch that I would grab. Picked up some cool stuff Jeff plus you experienced a great store 😊.
hola soy de Argentina 🇦🇷que impresionante esta disqueria::en que parte de 🇺🇸 esta ubicada y localización estoy impresionante la cantidad de vinyls gracias espero una respuesta 🙏
Curiosity Killed the Cat - Misfit great song. Wood Beez is a great song by Scritti Politti. I think they reissued their first album a few years back but I missed out on it.
That place was really big! You passed on Girls Can’t Help It? Lol. Saw a Jeff Beck there haven’t seen before. And Debbie Harry. Looks like you lucked out on finding a lot of 12” singles! INXS! Awesome band!
I've actually been to that record store. I was visiting a friend from college in 2018 and we spent a few hours there. He was telling me that the original owner, Jerry, died recently

I was definitely impressed with the size of the store and the selection. Whoever is running the place now seems to be doing a good job!
