Yea, i'm having the same issue and also when you delete the cache files to reinstall discord. It works for a bit and then starts freezing again.

After I have been live streaming for a while, while I am doing something else, when I click into Discord, the application freezes. I can't click on anything. So, I checked Task Manager and saw that the app shows "Very high" under the Power usage tab. Does anyone know how to fix this?

This tutorial is meant for a bug where it sometimes randomly freezes, not freezed the whole time.

dont do ts bruh, this guy doesnt include the part where you can no longer receive discord updates bc they dont support windows 8 anymore. waste of time tbh

If you go back into compatibility you can simply uncheck Windows 8 if you don't want that
