I have been in the kpop community like 9 years, i SERIOUSLY NEVER HAD SEEN A GROUP LIKE MAMAMOO.
I mean, in the 99.9999% of their songs i got shivers every second in their live performances, stage, dance, vocals, their power.
Its not a simple live stage: they perform as the stage was made for them. I just can't stop watching their videos help

So this is MAMAMOO, a kpop girl group/artists who debuted in 2014, they are well known for their incredible voices.
In white, you have Moonbyul, the main rapper and performer, but who can also sing and has a really deep voice
In Yellow, Solar, vocalist and leader, she has an insane powerful voice
In red, Hwasa, vocalist and rapper, you'll never find a voice like her, it's subtle and raw at the same time
And in blue, Wheein, vocalist and performer, who has a honey voice and a big range
They are also four powerful women and Soloist, that you can check, with four completely different genres, that their own perfectly

They really suit these type of songs compared to HIP and GGBB. Don't get me wrong, those are two of my fave songs and their HIP MAMA perf is unforgettable, but songs like this give them the chance to really show off their vocal skills without focusing too much on choreo. This is where they really shine the brightest ❤ look at how much fun they're having on stage and how engaged the audiences are

Who the hell is the main vocalist in this group? Solar, Wheein and Hwasa are all better than some main vocalists in other groups. I wouldn't be surprised if Moonbyul could carry a tune as well.

The 1st and ever Kpop idol group to win in such a legendary competition Immortal Song. I am so proud to be a MooMoo
it's not just the win. Mamamoo have 14 performnces in the show. no other idol group has so many(just in 2015 they have more than any other idol group have until now), and they would have more but they stopped going cause it was too stressful and they had to do other performances. Mamamoo were invited 2nd time 1 month after their 1st performance. this has never happened before with idol rookie groups. not even with senior groups.
There is not other group that can do what Mamamoo does, when it comes to performance they have not equal. And I'm not putting down other groups, I love what they do but when it come to engaging the audience and putting a show Mamamoo is in another level, it's weird to say, but they are better live than on record. Because their dance routine is more loose they can be more playful and do something different every time. And also charisma, those girls are truly special.
They really know how to perform, the confidence is no joke, and they are super close and trust each other, so their stages basically become their playground. There's no single regret from stanning these girls since the very beginning :')
+Francisco Perez Hahah you're right. The only other group that I know performed as well was 2NE1, especially CL. She just has that charisma to command and direct all the attention. They both have different styles, but are just as great. Also Lee Hyori and CL are a great power combo when it comes to performing. If you haven't check out their full performance of Bad Girls and The Baddest Female, it's really awesome.
+Chloe Chang Though I do think 2NE1 is very talented, have charisma on stage, and are extremely confident, I think Mamamoo has ascended higher in ways 2NE1 (or any gg for that matter) ever has or ever will. To me, MMM is more complete as a gg. For example, each one of them is talented enough individually, but as a gg they are even better. Even tho 2NE1 is a great gg they aren't as cohesive as MMM. They are a very individualistic gg tho they are a team. MMM on the other hand, is stronger together. That's why they have such good harmony. Also the fact that they can harmonize so well also points to their superiority amongst all ggs. It's an extremely hard thing to achieve in a singing group. It's a gift really. Not many can achieve perfect harmony as MMM has quite obviously achieved.
Also I was comparing Mamamoo to recent groups, Lovelyz, Gfriend, Twice, etc.

Thanks Solar for making me all choked up at 1:16. This is a vocal emotional cry effect which she expertly can do every time. Their show performance captures the audience and their singing is the best of any group I have seen. Some people were created to be seen and heard on the stage. Here is the best example that I can find. Mamamoo: why are you pretty and talented? God creates people on this earth to bring us joy and happiness. Here are 4 of them.

Yes this is the kind of performance I would love to see at award shows. I really do pray that if mamamoo ever decide to promote in America (hopefully next comeback) they will bring a live band, focus on vocals, not ballads but songs they can hype the audience with like this. They can't decide it by themselves, for idol stages they usually promote their latest song and for award stages there are even time limition for every single group to perform and mamamoo usually got 5-8 minutes to perform and it is clearly not enough. So they can do it at their own concert.

What I love about Mamamoo is that no one here is outshone by anyone... Even tho Solar, Whee In and Hwasa's voice are dynamic they do not outshine Moonbyul....

Mamamoo is the definition of stage presence. They don't need fancy and powerful choreography to move the crowd. That's a flex.
unfortunately the masses want powerful choreography. look at MAMA 2021 top 10 Worldwide Fan's Choice. ALL groups focus on powerful choreography. Mamamoo that didn't even do choreography in 2021 they weren't even in top 20(dropped 10+ places compared to 2020) and got surpassed by 4th gen groups that are like 1 year old. for Kpop groups powerful choreography is the #1 most important factor now.
