Saw these guys perform in a converted church... it was insane. Her voice filled the entire space with the setting and acoustics it was one of my favourite live performances
I keep coming back to this. Just so good! Another Sky in Cardiff was the first gig I went to after all of the lockdowns. Couldn't think of a better band to see and it really was quite an emotional night, everyone there in the same room, some with masks on but going back to normality with everyone having one shared interest - Another Sky. It was incredible and will never forget that feeling of togetherness after so long of being isolated. Thank you 😊
Just noticed the view counter after more than a year. Criminal! Everytime this one comes in my playlist I ear it at least twice. The whole band blends in to make a sublime sound.
I discovered this band while vinyl hunting at Half Priced Books. I saw the cover for their album "I Slept On The Floor" with their faces looking like melting pixels. I was instantly intrigued. So I pulled out my earbuds to check out the album - HPB doesn't have turntables to try out vinyl before you buy. I was pleasantly surprised by their unique sound and her extraordinary vocals. I love when I find new music in this manner. 😊
This band is doing something special to my soul since i heard them the first time...its just amazing...so otherworldly talented...beautiful songwriting...absolutely unique voice...newcomer of the decade...already!
An amazingly tight band with talent in every part. 'Avalanche' here is another level to the album version for me, a whole new way to hear and appreciate the song, stunning!
Another Sky's music is so stirring. Seeing and hearing it performed in the TIny Desk conext is so intimate and powerful. Clearly a lot of expert mixing and engineering goes into the production of these videos because they sound SO good and I often find myself taking that for granted. I love Another Sky and Tiny Desk.
Never heard of this band before but just love them. Love the lead singers fragile voice and the fantastic guitar playing. I think they are very original....there is almost a Prog Rock vibe going on with and art rock...very different...it’s all down to her voice. Long time since I seen something so original as this
"When you listen to Another Sky, it’s probably Catrin Vincent’s voice that’ll catch your attention first. It is a weapon - peculiar, androgynous, lurching and defiant - that she wields to beautiful, evocative effect. When Guardian music critic Caroline Sullivan saw the band perform at The Great Escape this year, she tweeted, “I'm almost dumbstruck by the singer - she has the strangest, most haunting voice I've heard in ages.” Catrin is delighted that people find it so strange. “A lot of people think I’m a man,” she laughs. “I think people are embarrassed when they initially think it’s one of the guys singing, but I love it. It’s like I’ve got two voices - there’s this soft, whispery voice that can go really high, and then suddenly there’s this angry chest voice. Somewhere along the way, I drew two voices together.” "
Won’t lie. I thought the lead singer was a man!! But now I know it’s a woman, it just makes the experience of Another Sky even more amazing. Her voice is so beautifully haunting and I love it!!
This crowd seemed undeserving of this band. What a powerful sound & beautifully orchestrated tunes with brilliant writing. & these viewers were casually clapping like it was a random applause break.
She sounds a bit like Rufus Wainwright, but with "better" enunciation and "more exact" pitch. (I put "better" and "more exact" in quotes, because the greatness of Rufus's voice lies in his slipping and sliding between pitches and slurring through words.) I like the rest of the band, too, although some might say that they stick out too much and draw attention away from Catrin's voice and the lyrics.

Was that the Union Chapel gig? I was, annoyingly, out of the country then.
(I can see how the two would be a perfect marriage...)

Best band out there today. Innovative, fresh, incredible musicianship... I hope to see them in concert one day.
Their sound fills up the space so much. Combined with Catrin's voice it's honestly beautiful. One of the most unique voices I've heard.

Lots of comments about the vocals but that drummer is a groove machine.

I feel you. I'm sitting here tears in my eyes everytime I listen to them.
You sing one line and I'm crying. And that's a compliment.
I *love* this band. Always feels like they are pursuing something more, something else.

Yeah, you'd think a manly voice would come out from a man's body and it does in fact
Beginning
Diogo Costa rude
Same
I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did.👍🏾
For a while, I was quite astonished that none of the men was moving his lips. What a surprise!
Top top group
MASSIVE RESPECT. OUTSTANDING MUSICAL TALENT AND SOUL
Blew me away. Wow!
Glad I kept listening. A bit afraid from the beginning but this was great😋

Dean Thornby check out Freya Ridings, they have a similar beautiful tone & russet hair. It’s heavenly, just less rocky

Any chance of cinematic orchestra in the tiny desk office ?????
Check the lady bass-face at 552
Wow, class
Loved it! Breinne of Tarth on the bass was dope too
You can't usually hear an accent when singing... but you could hear her's in the first song, just the way she said 'put'.
I know.. imagine having to go through life with that particular English accent. *shudders*
Por la chucha que buena banda
Love child of London Grammer & Florence and Machines. Amazing and powerful voice
This crowd seemed undeserving of this band. What a powerful sound & beautifully orchestrated tunes with brilliant writing. & these viewers were casually clapping like it was a random applause break.
