The most reason I personally heard for conversion to Singaporean from other nationality is because of kid’s education. However, there’s another reason they should convert now than later. There’s a trend of Malaysia’s religious party becoming more popular in Malaysia and there was a chance that the religious group almost took hold of Malaysia’s government in the last major election. It wouldn’t be surprising if they make more inroads in the next election in Malaysia. We hope Malaysia continues to remain secular but we cannot forget what is trending now and if one day Malaysia turns Islamic, what will the people in Malaysia do? That’s why it’s good that you join us now. We prefer Malaysians to help us fill our population gaps than Chinese mainlanders due to cultural similarities.
Be it MY or SG, I think both countries have its pros and cons. The older I am, and after travelling and working abroad in a few countries , I still think MY is good enough. Anyway, the choice is yours, you have choose it. Let’s hope is the best for you. All the best.

U have made a RIGHT decision. Despite I have aged n missed the window of migration, i am determine n currently in progress to move my kid out..... n Spore is my first choice. Language, cultural, social strata etc , spore is almost similar. Hence, much easier to assimilate into the society of Spore. Most important, b able to contribute to nation building , make a better future for Spore.

May be one may b challenging is to keep abreast with spore competitiveness. Me n wife doing our best to arm my kid n keep abreast with its requirements from time to time.....
@wenwen_life you are right, there is a fair chance of getting in. In case your child can't get in, there are other longer path like going via the polytechnic route. The last resort, if your child needs to go overseas for study, the Sing dollars much stronger than the ringgit. So you are still in a better position. I am speaking from my past experience, not fiction but reality. I have 3 adult children(all Singaporean) and I only changed to become singaporean last year.

我叔叔年轻时候已经是新加坡公民每年都会回马来西亚探亲，感觉他都是会羡慕我们拥有自己的车！

我成为新加坡人10年了，这是我这辈子做得最对的事，虽然在提交申请后一直忐忑不安还是会不舍得，但说真的不后悔。还是最爱马来西亚的食物，还是会回去走走，但在这里太久，习惯新加坡多过大马。也为能在这里立足有自己的小天地感到安心，也为自己能成为新加坡的一份子感到骄傲

真的。现在只是为了一个child care 千多块就想换国籍，等她到40多岁时就知道什么是中年危机,职场人性。等下突然没有工就不知道可以退去那里。新币在新加坡不可1对3的哦
做好规划就没问题了
没规划就算是在马来西亚也会有同样得问题

纯属个人意见，新马确实有各自的优缺点。年轻时创业养儿育女适合在新国，老来退休时较适合在马国。
