Tape ins are trending and can give you an effortless look BUT I feel like ppl aren’t realizing that it’s not for everyone’s hair. I’m JUST saying really do your homework beforehand. 🌸💕
Thank you for this video. I was going to get tape-ins but now after looking at this just now I am going to get a sew-in. I think that it would be better to grow my hair out and give it a break from styling at the same time. Your opinion is right spot on. Thanks again and GOD BLESS YOU!
@@tonidavis2970 you’re welcome! It’s a nice install to get I just think it can do more damage than good for someone who does not have healthy hair…I just hope the stylist would be honest and let the client know whether they’re a good candidate for tape ins.
Thank you. I’ve tried I-Tip extensions and it severely thinned my hair. At this point I’ll just go back to knotless braids because it helped grow my hair with little to no manipulation and harsh tugging.
Great video! I already have my deposit for the tapes so I'm just going to try it, I have this sew in on and as much as its functional I WANT MY SCALP! haha. I work out 3-4x a week and I feel so icky with my sweat locked up in the net and braids. I did wigs for years but had enough when it flew of during sexy time and the lace lifting every now and then. I think anything fake has its pros and cons. It's just a pick your poison atp.
@@AntonetteShay Hi! I enjoyed the tape in and think it was my favorite style thus far. The only major con is that you cant put oil or water so i did lose tapes. Great style for winter but not for summer.
@@amberscott4262 i agree! What I dislike is not being able to really put a drop of oil in my head. I’d definitely do a half sew in half tape to get a little more versatility.
The tape ins was made for stright European hair textures over 10 + year ago when I 1st saw them. Hairdressers I used to work with Yes used heat to seal it in the hair other wise they will not last long and fall out. Just lately I have seen more afro hair textures using tape ins and Itip hair and miro links. Protective styles from what I know you braid to preserve and protect.
I see and hear it a lot. It just seems like some want to follow the trend…Which is up to them but i just cringe sometimes when I see tape ins installed on severely damaged hair.
@@AntonetteShay yess, stylist who are doing installs on damaged hair or even telling people its a protective style should be ashamed of themselves. Just money hungry
You can still put oil and conditioner on the mid to ends of your hair. Most people have enough natural oil at the scalp folks that have flakes typically need dandruff treatment not oil many times oil masks the issue making the dandruff worse over time. -If the install is done properly and you buy the tapes from a good company tape will stay in during washing. - make sure your hair is free of extra oil and hairspray. Alcohol removes tapes
I don't see the difference between tape ins and old school hair glue, honestly. I used to glue tracks kinda like this when I was younger. It was extremely versatile and cute, but it would thin my hair sometimes
Whatever you've done to your hair looks very flattering on you, it's beautiful. I want a new color that lifts so much, it'll require bleach, I don't have much experience with weaves, but I was considering getting those to color instead of my own hair. I watched your video as part of that research.
I appreciate this video so much 🙌🏽 I really wanted to get curly tape ins for vacation. But what you mentioned made me realize it’s not for me. Saved me a ton of money, cause the websites I buy weave from, the tape-ins are more expensive than regular bundles. Thank you for this girl 🫶🏽
Never thought about the in between care with oiling my scalp and I definitely need to oil my scalp. I was going to do this myself. I just been watching all kinds of installs and removals and I thought wtw when I saw the heat install method. 🙄 I was like ughh, no. Still researching and might do it temporarily for a vacation/cruise but I'll throw on an old fashioned NO glue wig. Clip ins are starting to thin my hair so I know if I use tape and can't care for my scalp and hair while wearing them, probably not the best method for me. For some reason you popped up in my researching of removal..Hmmm, that's a sign🤔. Really great advice. Thumbs up. Thanks for posting. Take care..🌹
I have tried to tell the young girl at my job NOT to go with this method because her hair is shoulder length but paper thin. i recommended a glueless wig since she wanted the style for a 4 day birthday event but she insisted tape-ins so I’m just going to let her do her! i just think this method is bad altogether and even worse if the hair is thin. the issue is everytime she gets a style and she’s disappointed by the outcome she blames the stylist. i don’t feel they should be responsible for your hair falling out if you know before hand the damage this method causes
Whew you just saved me $500, thank you! I was set on getting tape ins but my scalp is always dry so not being able to oil it with tape ins is a definite no. I’ll opt for clip ins because i just wanted to add length, plus i can’t take them out whenever
Tape ins are nice for the versatility but yes the maintenance is high in my opinion. Can’t really tend to my hair the way I would want to with tape ins
I just did some on my kid looked amazing. They started coming out with the hair in between. Her hair was healthy she has thick hair. We had to part thin but I was completely lost when my baby hair started falling out. Yes I’ve taken a class, glad we tried it before doing it on a client.
I think curly tape ins that match the hair texture is fine. In my opinion as long as the texture is a good blend and match for your hair and it’s properly assessed by a professional or just someone that would be honest and not just take your money lol. I plan to purchase 1 bundle just for fullness In the summer months
I did tape ins a year ago I severely heat damaged my hair trying to keep my hair blended. I bought textured tape ins and they still didn’t match my hair I was better off wearing clips ins or v part I did my own so I didn’t have any hair loss outside of heat damage
The hair came out easily but the glue residue was horrible.. also my hair is not thick!! Plus when the tape dries after washing it moves and my regular hair got caught in some tape ins..
Girl…I have yet to see anyone with beautiful and healthy hair after consistently wearing tape in extensions. I’m sure they are out there but I haven’t seen them lol. I need the hair that I have and i cannot imagine not being able to oil and properly treat my scalp with this type of install.
I would say none find the cause go to the Dr and get treatment. Extension will make it worse and damage the hair follicles. Right I agree. Because it’s damaging to our natural texture. So if a person is okay with then cool, but if not , I wouldn’t get it .
