It’s so funny cause it’s a very close contact sport, but you’re so focused on trying to win/not die, I feel like it doesn’t really cross your mind (at least that’s how I feel when I roll)
I’m very fortunate that I’ve never had any inappropriate interactions with folks, especially as experiencing SA was what brought me to BJJ. Finding a good gym and good community makes such a difference
These were some of my favorite videos Julien did with Jenna. It's great to see him instruct others. Ethan's reactions were hilarious and everything was surprisingly educational. Julien would be a good teacher if he decided to become one.

Yeah in a gym I went to we literally practiced "shrimping" which was little wiggle-shimmies across the mat as a warmup before practice. It helped us to get used to the action.
They called it “shrimping” when I was taught 😂
Sameeee we had to shrimp all the way across the floor to warm up
In the police academy, during hand to hand training, they call it shrimping!

I LOVE seeing Julien being serious and focused in bjj videos.
This was honestly such a fun watch to see Julien showing one of his hobbies and Ethan genuinely interested in learning while still both of them goofing and having fun.

Jenna's videos with Julien actually introduced me to BJJ, I have been training around five times a week for over ten moths now, and I can't really imagine my week without it. Julien is a good teacher! The brief time I taught classes in martial arts they advised us the importance of "praise, correct, praise" and he's so positive about Ethan's progress (which is even more important for beginners) 💖
