I really enjoyed and benefited from your discussion regarding how you approach a painting. You shared just the right amount of information to make the viewer want to learn more, thank you.
Yes!!! Thanks for a great demonstration. I have been in a "lull" for a few weeks. This was just what I needed to motivate me to get going again. Having spent most of my life in New England there is nothing more beautiful to me than a lighthouse and this one is a real beauty.
Love watching your developing of this painting. I'll probably have to finish the video later, couldn't sleep so I'm watching videos on watercolor painting tutorials. It's really interesting watching & learning, you give wonderful instructions/comments & ideas.
So very instructive! I appreciate you sharing your talent and knowledge! The trees you painted are either spruce or fir....not 'pine'. Maine white pines have a unique, peculiar shape/characteristic quite different from other evergreen trees particular to Maine. I hope some day you are inspired to do a painting that features Maine white pine trees. Again...thank you!
Rick, there aren't enough superlatives to describe your teaching abilities and talents! You would be a welcome addition to the workshops offered at our local arts center, Community Arts Center of Cambria County, in Johnstown, PA. It is a very large, beautiful facility for such a small town. We hosted the late Diane Maxey several times, and Tony Couch many years ago. That is about 190 miles from you. The Latrobe Arts center is about 160. On the 26th, I will be attending a book sale at the former and will mention you, if you wish. Of course, I cannot comment on all of the videos (and you can hardly reply to all), so thanks again.
Hi Joy, I appreciate your thoughtful comments !!! I have started to schedule some workshops and appreciate your offer to mention my name. If you feel there could be a fit, feel free to mention it. It sounds like they have a good facility and program. Thanks !
Did pretty good on most of the painting but my tree next the house got muddy.. I tend to overwork objects and end up in mud city. I heard you say" leave it fresh" so that has become my new moto Great howto instruction but I didn't hear you mention what brand of paints you use. I'm using Yarka St. Petersburg and Strathmore 400 for practice.. Great painting and video thank you for what you do!

Hi Barbara, When my paper is at a point that I can't make the marks I want to make, I dry it with a hair dryer until the paper is flat.

So beautiful, just beautiful-
Thank you Anne !
Do you cover the paints on the palette when not in use? How long can you leave them? You are extremely helpful. Thank you.
I mist my paints at the end of a session and put a lid on my palette. My current palette was filled two years ago. I add paint as needed.
Great. Thanks very much
I just bought white ink 30. It's amazing. Looks like masking. Have you tried that? But I love masking as well
No I'm not familiar with it. I only work with transparent watercolor.
Ok. Awesome work
