You and Peter maintain a very healthy balance between training the girls for the future, and still giving them the freedom to be kids. Parenting is the hardest job in the world. You are doing the best you can, and it should be good enough. Keep up the great job you are doing, and try to ignore the trolls, because they are mean, and toxic, and quite insecure, so they project their own self hate on to others. We used to hang clothes out to dry when I was a kid (60 years ago). Now we have an electric dryer beside our washer. I only see clothes lines out in the country. I miss it. I understand how Peter feels. It hurts me to part with plants. I hope he will recover soon.

It's good to work hard but be watchful on the way you feel. I'm almost 61 and used to be like Joyce and want work done right away but as I am older and now not healthy and can't work hard any longer, I have learned to do a little at a time. My husband of 40 yrs and I don't get in a hurry anymore. God's blessings to you!
I have a stackable washer dryer unit. The clothes are washed in the washer on the bottom, and then dried in the dryer on top. If I had a clothesline like yours I'd be drying my clothes, and especially my bedsheets, outside. Everything smells so fresh after being dried out in the sun. It also saves a lot of money electricity.

Maybe it's a cultural think with me, being from the Caribbean and now in the US over the past thirty years. I am in no way trying to be rude or intrusive, but this just rubs me in this way. Much of a woman's beauty is in her hair. And, on the other hand, men should not be with long hair. On the other hand, I will always praise you, Peter and the kids for accepting Cynthia in your home, God is already blessing you guys for that.
It's the school district's mandate; all the kids in their school must have their heads shaved. Actually, Joyce's girls have a buzz cut, not a complete shave, and they look beautiful. FYI, I am having my hair shaved every summer, too, even though I am a grandma from Philadelphia, and not a school girl from Kenya! AS far as I am concerned, a woman's beauty is NOT in her hair. It is in the way she treats others, and the way she conducts herself. Everything else is shallow and irrelevant. Live and let live.
