Child support Parents have an obligation to support their minor child. The child has the right to adequate support that covers - the satisfaction of material and spiritual needs according to the child's developmental level - the care the child needs and - education and the resulting costs. In principle, a child's right to receive maintenance from his parents ends when he turns eighteen. The maintenance obligation can end even earlier if, for example, the child is fully able to support himself with his paid work.
You must pay gift tax if the total value of the gifts you receive from the same donor in the course 3 years is €5,000 or more.
