But in asthma and copd, there is major problem with ventilation(airway is obstructed) and perfusion is OK, then why do we see increase dead space in asthma and copd?

The obstruction will not lead that area to take part in respiration or geaseous exchange hence physiological dead space …! ( PD= ANATOMICAL DEAD SPACE+ WASTED VENTILATION)

from what i understand room air is the atmospheric air that we breath in (ambient dry air). & the Po2 drops as air is pre-condition/humidify by the upper respiratory nasal cavity as it travels the trachea. So the composition of the air changes where now you have water vapor (moist tracheal air) thus Po2 drops slightly. hope this helps slightly as I'm still learning too. good luck!
