It's always gonna be a problem with all those patches. If possible, I would build a new spring box.

I can understand your problem we have a similar situation on our farm, we have an underground spring water that we use for the piggery and animals and we are always checking if the water is running freely, You are right spring water from underground tastes beautiful, I really enjoy your videos very down to earth

Praying for you guys. I expect you need to redo the box all together. Re-route your water so you can build and pour a solid concrete catch box. You may can buy one already made. Wish I lived closer to you guys so I could help y’all. Good luck, and I will continue to pray🙏🏻

We had a similar problem when getting old partly concrete animal drinking blocks integrated into an outdoor aquaponics tryout setup and one of them still is leaking partly on one side.
We applied some black sealing paste several times getting the new layer some one to two centimeters thick.
Learning from this I would recommend you go as far as you can currently afford and apply a one to two inches thick layer of your sealing mixture in the whole outflow direction site on bottom and sides upwards (possibly until height of pipe level and maybe), this way you make sure you not only get all possible holes but reseal and reinforce what state of corrosion bigger parts/ other areas of the container might already waiting to show next week...
Could you, when all is fixed, please reiterate your water system a little as e.g. might have missed it but how / where from (spring directly under the container which canalyzes an already pretty low flow pressured upwards from underground?) the water inflow in this first step is being harvested in what amount (liters/h) regularly?
    Good fortune

#thickness: there is the problem that although a thick layer has been applied, some tiny leave-troughs might still be there, this is what happened with one of our containers, we were not willing to drive to the store a fourth time for (after getting one or two tubes each time) (decomissioned it as drinking station again as the system is non-vital).

If you have situation similar to this, food dye in the water is pretty helpful for finding leaks. You can squirt it into the water and it will go about 6 in into the water with every squirt and will usually float towards where the leak is. So you just squirt it around and then when you see it? Drifting it will give you an idea of where that water might be going instead of where it's supposed to be going. Plus it's food safe and won't contaminate the water supply

How about inserting an IBC container to catch the water? Yes, it will require cutting the top off and putting in (geez, I can't remember what they are called, but you used them for the chicken church) flanges, you know the connectors that allow pipes to go through a barrel. That way you eliminate the need for concrete and chasing holes and leaks. Just my two cents.

Just put powdered bentonite in where the crack is. Cheap and bentonite is just really great clay usually mined in Wyoming. It's the recommended way to seal well casings from groundwater intrusion.

WOW, I know what is getting stocked up for use here! Sure hope all your repairs work and you can be back and running at full capacity soon my friend! Prayers up for ya'll

Good luck with your water problem.
I'm thinking you might want to dig on the outside from where the water is coming out back to its origin. It may be coming around the box and just draining at that point. I don't know, but it is a possibility.

On a farm they're always seems to be a problem that pops up but it always feels good once it's taken care of. When I was looking for a place the first thing I asked was about the water. With out it there is no life. I'll say a prayer that everything goes great

Would hate for that to happen in cold winter too. Freezing and thawing can wreak havoc with water lines and it doesn't take much for problems to form. Praying you get it fixed quickly. Good water is crucial in this weather.

I think like Saundra - buy extra the first time instead of making multiple trips in to town for more. A trip to town for us can be an hour round trip - it is much better to stock up!

I had pretty much the exact same thing happen. Had a block laid spring box that leaked from the day i bought the place. It eventually got to the point of not being able to draft. I ripped it out and poured a solid concrete box. Absolutely 0 seams. Only difference is my water inlet is piped in from the top instead of flowing in from the bottom.

Probably leaking around the drain pipe and coming out there

  • @devenlamar3900
    @devenlamar3900 2 года назад

Put more of that blue coat or food coloring in the water and see where it goes out then that's your leak. I have a bad feeling a tree root got in there and maybe a pipe is leaking. I hope not. You may be tearing it all up like he said and just redoing it properly. Then u know there will not be any issues
