- A woman who alleges she was sexually assaulted by Sean “Diddy” Combs has amended her lawsuit to include allegations that she was also assaulted by Jay-Z at the same party.
In a statement addressed to CNN, Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, called the allegations “so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?” #CNN #News

I don't know if the parents are liable because it's not like we have evidence that they gave the girl permission to go to the party. When children become teenagers they often become rebellious and hard to control. I have good parents and have never been in trouble with the law, but I have a brother who's been involved in a lot of bad stuff and started getting into legal trouble around age 13. My parents did just about everything they could to straighten him out, but it didn't work.

Diddy had some real assault on camera that justified him being locked up, and he may still go free despite the current accusations against him. Locking someone up as a flight risk is very different from locking them up because they've been proven guilty in a court of law. Diddy isn't even out of the game yet. After learning who it was even back then - they could have reported it to police but they typically say to you “this is a civil matter, we can’t help you”. They advertise to you to get a lawyer & sue them - not a criminal case against them. Lots of people here don’t seem to understand the basic of Law. You cannot just immediately file a criminal case without literal photos/videos of said defendant & victim physically showing the crime. It must begin as a civil case presented with enough evidence - which then becomes a criminal case they are indicted on. K? There are levels to the court system. The entire REASON behind Cassie filing the case against his businesses…was so that Higher authorities are required REQUIRED to investigate. Meaning - you can threaten an individual, sure. Cassie got her money & dropped the case. However, the open investigation on Bad Boy productions was continuing. This led to 100’s of other victims coming forward…this is how the system functions & only people that STUDY before acting can come close to a Win. Even among the most powerful, if your understanding of the Law is better - You can Win (with the right attention if you lack the money).

While that’s true, it’s obvious people don’t understand how the system works in Law. It must be a Civil case FIRST. This is what any police officer would tell you if you’re a victim of stalking, for example. (My personal experience). I had a man calling me & jerking off into the phone. He used a scramble number through an app - & they couldn’t retrieve his data to prove 100% it was him, because it had like 40 other names attached to the supposed account. His name was on there & I showed them, thinking that was my proof. No - they needed firmer evidence to open the criminal case 😢so I moved & changed my number. Nothing since. But this is just a minor example of HOW these things even begin. The criminal case is coming - especially since they have the VIDEO. Jeeze.

@7Gator While I'm sorry that you had such a horrendous experience, I would advise you in future to consider 2 things, namely that we don't all live in America so we won't know about American law and it's far fetched to expect any layman to know or understand the law as much as you do whether through education or through personal experience like you had. People come from different demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds, let alone all the other factors.
I understand your passionate response but I find it uncalled for to have such annoyance when 'educating' people through your responses. I really don't get the necessity of the tone in your response and that "Jeez" at the end. It is a very good example of how communication breaks down among people, the delivery of the message completely overshadowed the message itself.
