I think the M5 is just as good as the E63S, so it only comes down to personal preference e.g in the looks. So... if I had to pick between the two of them... I’d have a Panamera.
I haven't driven either one but from the videos I would say that : The BMW looks much better exterior wise in my opinion Both interiors look good even tho I prefer the Mercedes ambient lighting The Merc sounds better, stock at least. It also seems to me the e63S revs a bit faster while the M5 has longer gears This time the BMW seems more refined than the Merc contrary to what the brands have been advertised as in the past I'm a BMW enthusiast and I appreciate older models especially, but I think we got to the point where it's really hard to choose between them, they would be pretty much equally fast in day to day conditions Just go with the one you feel better in and enjoy life ;)
Ok so here’s what I think of the F90 M5 it’s powerful, fast, pretty luxurious, and has a mean and serious look(exterior wise), but it lacks in the sound department, for me it’s not loud enough stock, granted if you did aftermarket exhaust or straight piped the car it would probably change the tone and the amplitude of the sound(the exhaust sounds). From the interior it’s not V8 enough for me like a GT500 for example, or an SLS AMG, granted those cars are N/A not Twin-turbo. What do you guy think?
Slightly dissapointing interior for me... especially when compared to the E AMG. And judging by the new A6's interior.. the new RS6's will be better looking as well... and so much more tech to play around with..
I have an E60 M5 so I could be biased but I think this is a boring car. I think out of supersedans AMG is doing a better job at the moment at making the cars exciting. BMW used to set the rules in this segment but I think they have become very generic in my opinion - take the 4WD thing for example - AMG did it and BMW are following up.
The M5 (Performance) might be louder from what your vid sounds like, but that screaming V8 just doesn‘t fit a sedan. Like for an Audi RS6. I think AMG get it just right making their V8s sound „presidential“. In the end, it‘s a matter of taste, but I find AMG to have that little bit more style and dignity.
no. it just sounds different. to me, the m178 sounds like a tractor. as for 4L engines, i'd go for rs6 any day. the previous gen 5.5L engine was probably one of the best sounding turbocharged v8s on the market.
