    Seth Killian needs to commentate all Street Fighter tournaments.

    wow, good match; such composure under pressure from Daigo. Kazunoko was really patient and took all advantage of the drops and openings. Really cool match :)

    When most other players do wakeup upkicks, they're generally regarded as scrubby and very unskilled. When Kazu does wakeup upkicks, it's not looked at quite the same way. Anyone else have an opinion on that?

    • @aza4444
      @aza4444 9 лет назад

      It's a different set of risk/reward... I think you gotta think of them as entirely different in terms of options

    • @CodyTravers_
      @CodyTravers_ 9 лет назад +1

      It's dumb that it's not looked at in the same way because it's the same thing. I'm also sure Kazunoko knows that in an important tourney, waking up with dp vs E.Ryu is mad life gone if it's baited. What's the difference between a 3k PP Xbox live player and Kazunoko waking up with DP? Beats me.

      ***** Playing against a random player in a BO1 is quite different from a long set against a known player.

    • @CodyTravers_
      @CodyTravers_ 9 лет назад +1

      limearrr I'm aware of that but there's still no diff between the two

    • @dusanjankovic2610
      @dusanjankovic2610 9 лет назад +11

      ***** Because if you never do a reversal DP the opponent can stop respecting it, and get a lot of free pressure (for example, if you NEVER wake up DP, the opponent can always use a meaty attack on your wake up, usually OS'ing it with something that catches backdashes, which would force you to block every time you wake up, which would in turn force you to eat free pressure and mixups).
      In other words, once the opponent stops respecting your DP wake up option, you have to establish it. Of course you can get baited, but (and especially in a long set), just because you will lose a chunk of HP there, you also gain something, and that's respect on wake up, and since momentum is god in SF4, that can be worth more then one chunk of HP in one round.
      Now, scrubby wakeup DP's are when you are using them too much, and before the opponent established a pattern of disrespecting them.
      Or you can be like Daigo, and win first round of grand finals by doing 6 DP's in a row.

      @klammyvagikarp7578 9 лет назад

      It's supposed to dampen sound so you can't hear him press buttons as a clue to an attack. Another tactic some pros use is to have a button programmed to do nothing, an 'empty' button. They use this because pros automatically react to the sound of a button press and they can bait their opponents so they can punish a whiff.

    • @Saintmadman
      @Saintmadman 9 лет назад +5

      you can't affect the Sound of hitting the buttons lol. It is indeed bc Daigo doesn't want his oppennts to have a look on his buttons

    Throw back to a real skill based street fighter game. Not the crap game we've been subjected to with SFV, which turned legends into flops i.e. Snake Eyes, Ricky Ortiz, PR Balrog, Dieminion, Justin Wong etc.

    It is just as easy to call them "hadoukens" as to call them "fireballs" and yet the first is more accurate and still sounds better than ki/qi/chi balls in English.. so why does he keep saying "fireballs"? It is fine since the art/animation looks like fire but it would be less annoying to just call them what they are "hadoukens".

      Is easier cal all projectiles a generic name than call them each type individually:
      ·
      *hadoken*(riu/ken).
      *kikouken*(chun-li).
      *yoga fire*(dalsim).
      *zonicboom*(guile).
      ·
      *zanku hadoken*(akuma)
      ·
      *tiger shot*(sagat)
      ·
      And add all others variants.

    • @Tletna
      @Tletna 9 лет назад

      EliosMoonElios I get what you're saying about saving time, but would you refer to a sonic boom as a "fireball"? Most of these attacks are chi attacks. A real life fireball would burn the opponent, but most of what they're calling "fireballs" are chi attacks. They pitting chi versus chi. So it is sort of like a battle of energy. Dhalsim's attack is really the closest thing to a fireball. And, look at Chun Li's projectile.. it doesn't look anything like a fireball. Do you get what I mean?

    • @ohsakman
      @ohsakman 9 лет назад +1

      Tletna It's up to the person really. Some people call each characters projectile by its name, and others call them fireballs. I think a lot of it is people copying what the community calls them, and the community calls them fireballs because that's how they were translated in the game manuals of SF2
