    Choctaw refers to an Indian tribe originally from Alabama, then moved to Oklahoma after Andrew Jackson’s campaign in 1814. Beautiful floor and great concept and work! You are the envy of every gardener in the world, Laura! So pleased with the Hartley so far, look forward to seeing the whole effect with plants, lights and of course, the chandelier. Very nice overall. Thanks for sharing with the rest of the gardening world who appreciate you and Aaron so very much.

      Love you shared this info.! My Mum was from Durant, OK and (my Father from AL) grew up around Native Americans. All sorts of information came from them both they knew the history and the problems on the reservations. They respected individuals who were able to overcome difficulties and thrive because they both came from hard working families. Had many friends that were Native American. I was brought up in lower Michigan.

In everything from your furniture shopping to all of this decision making, you exercise an impressive amount of patience. And it’s always worth it because, in the end, you have exactly what you want and it’s perfect! It’s been a good reminder when planning and buying, especially for big projects. ❤

    pisa achukma~ means 'pretty' in the Choctaw language! My husband is part Choctaw Indian and is able to trace his Choctaw lineage several generations back, way back to Mississippi before the Trail of Tears. His fourth great grandfather Ezekial Roebuck known as the "Honey King" in Mississippi was forced off his land with his wife, "Little Blue Hen" and three kids, two boys and an infant. Lots of History there. Sorry for coming off topic lol
    But it brings joy for you to include a little bit of our Oklahoma Choctaw stone in your Hartley. May it bless all who walk on it.

Today was part of my weekend so I worked out in my yard and gardens and didn't get to watch this video until around 9:30 this evening. After spending the day working in my landscape it was utterly satisfying to sit back and watch this video. The sequence showing the work inside the Hartley was borderline blissful to unwind to today. Love the view from the sink area with the big willow tree in the back ground! I was watching a series from England called Grand Designs where they show people renovating old barns and castles and they showed a greenhouse with your type of floor! Over two hundred years old and it was gorgeous! Congrats on the new beginning of your new garden and thanks for sharing your love of your garden. Inspiring.

    I LOVE that old world look of the grey stone..I've always dreamed of having a house with that stone look❤ I think that stone would look amazing in front of the cold frames, and even far out enough to have a little bistro set and potted plants? So hapoy for you guys, you're living my dream😍💚

    Well you definitely nailed the old world look Laura. It is beautiful! I was actually getting ready to comment how much I like it and that it reminds me of the old cobblestone streets when you said that you were going for the old world look. It looks like it's been there for ages and it is gorgeous.

    I’m such a fan of your channel because of the way you share you’d and other folks really cool stuff. Your greenhouse I’m learning is exactly what I’m wanting for my property… when we find it somewhere on the beaches of Oregon ASAP! I’ve been a welder/ fabricator/ builder for 45 years & my hobbies are all old school handcrafts and I want handcrafted, fine quality equipment on my Dream-home/ Surf shack/ Farmstead & Fabrication Studio.
    I had a dilution of grandeur that I could have an all in one greenhouse, germination room, equipment storage, tool shed, Jaccuzzi & lounge area, and library/ formal meeting room. But it would be the size of a house, so… plan B.

    The floor is absolutely beautiful. Great choice! However, the stone you tapped with your foot saying it had more brown, I would have them replace as it really stands out as different from the others. Sorry, it seems ridiculous to say anything, I just know I have regretted not saying something on projects I have had done.

    • @dannac_8888
      @dannac_8888 2 года назад

      It's very hard to judge when the floor isn't cleaned completely. Once it's cleaned you can tell if they scattered the tan ones about enough to pull in the color of the red bricks.
      If they did a 360° pan of the floor afterwards then you would tell if it sticks out like a sore stone "👍🏻".
