It's not like there isn't actual film footage of the Stuka diving which is not the angle at which they dropped the bomb. If the dives were that shallow they would not need to have the auto pull out because of the pilot blackout problem.
You can see how the slightest of movement affects the critical angle of attack on the model plane. The faster it goes, the less stable it becomes to move around in. @@kentuckyblugrass It would be interesting if they could somehow turn the 360 cam on the stick they have into the video input to the fpv transmitting, I feel like that’s the perspective you get zoomed in on 3rd person view in video games. Does 360 vr for fpv even exist yet? I don’t actually know, I only fly line of sight stuff 😅
I think the fear in Jonah's voice after crashing says a lot about the crazy, brave people who flew missions like this in the war. A lot of their fates were similar but without the benefit of miniatures and FPV. Nice job trying to depict accurate divebombing and Merry Christmas!!
The Stukas had a mechanism that would kick in at the end of a dive bomb to help the plane come out of the dive. The pilots typically experienced so many Gs that they would black out.
The RAF Pilots learned to either wait for the Ju-87 to come back up after dropping it's main bomb, or simpler than that, attack them in level flight, where they pootled along at about 250 mph, and easy prey for the 300+ mph Hurricane, Spitfire, and even Defiant. In the Mediterranean theatre and Norway, they were successfully ambushed and shot down by Gloster Gladiator biplane fighters. The Stuka was transferred to the Eastern front, and a lot were re-equipped with 20mm anti tank cannon, and were known as the 'Panzerknacker'.
@Pretty Fly for a WiFi they ended up scrapping the siren because they figured giving the enemy a heads up that a bomb was coming gave them time to take cover
@@person___9 Kinda hard when none exist so you can't make one accurately. And unfortunately we can't hear one irl because the only 2 remaining Stukas are later models that got rid of the siren
The siren was eventually taken off the 87 as it affected the crew flying more than the people on the ground as they were used as close support for artillery attacking the enemy whether Polish, french, British or Canadian at the beginning of ww2. By 1943 the aircraft was defunct due to being too slow and too higher loses.
yeah I'm pretty sure they weren't able to actually turn it off in most versions so the pilot literally had to listen to the thing screaming at him the entire time from takeoff till landing.
Something heavier than the melon they dropped a while back? I think that was 12 pounds or so. If I remember correctly it made a bit of a crater in the fairway... But yes please. Bigger an in the pond would be interesting...
Real Fun fact: The B-1 was also fitted with "Jericho trumpets", essentially sirens driven by propellers with a diameter of 0.7 m (2.3 ft) mounted on the wing's leading edge directly forward of the landing gear, or on the front edge of the fixed main gear fairing.
I fly the Stuka D5 with her 2x 4 20mm gun pods and it have to it normal 2 20mm guns I like to hunt fighters with it because most players think: Enemy: oh a Stuka free kill nice! Me: 6 20mm in his face :)
The Stuka’s cockpit actually has a glass window just forward of where the pilot sat, letting him look at the ground and line up on targets without rolling the aircraft
The camera in the bomb got a glimpse of the Stuka when it was dropped from the plane and hit the ground. Reminds me of decapitation by a guillotine, so designed as to have the head witness its body, and then the wing came off.
after watching the video back in FBF, the wing did not fold. to me it appears as if the excessive speed, caused the airfoil to generate such low pressure + AOA caused the draft to tear the wing apart. the wingtip fell off after it lost the rigidity from the top piece. 14:02
To be honest, as a War Thunder player, War Thunder’s vehicle models is (I can guarantee it is) the best and most detailed out of every 3d model from any platform. The only thing that is more detailed than their models is the industrial blueprint for the Stuka.

The siren tryna say: *ur gonna get bombed*
Me: "why is mom using the vacuum cleaner at 10:00 AM" 🤣😂🤣
Fun fact: the sirens were not just some fancy air raid sirens, they were just office fans placed on the wings.
Well I believe the sirens were actually powered by the air moving through it while bombing
For anyone who doesn't get the joke and actually thinks the sirens were office fans, they were related to air raid sirens, but a different size and had a different pitch
You all missed the joke lmao
@@dakufaust you arw correct the sirens were working on the air traveling thru that is why the sound changed when increasing airspeed going into the dive and climbing out
@@WarriorOO2 I’ve heard that it was tuned so that it would start making noise when the plane hit it’s target dive speed so the pilot didn’t have to look at the gauges and could focus on dropping the bombs instead.
It would be cool if they made detachable canopies that have a 360 degree VR camera inside a protective class case so they could look out of the plane from any view inside a cockpit
There's a guy that's done something similar. He had a miniture pilot in the cockpit with a HD pinhead that could pan L/R. I'll try an find the link.

@@rc-fannl7364 nice, the swivel cam is FANTASTIC. That p-51 looks great too
I think the fear in Jonah's voice after crashing says a lot about the crazy, brave people who flew missions like this in the war. A lot of their fates were similar but without the benefit of miniatures and FPV. Nice job trying to depict accurate divebombing and Merry Christmas!!
There’s a guard tower joke in there somewhere...XD
It’s sad the siren sounds nothing like it actually did, this sounds just really annoying, but the Stuka trumpets sounded legit terrifying
yeah why couldnt they make the siren accurate? it sounds like a woman giving birth while drowning.
@@person___9 Kinda hard when none exist so you can't make one accurately. And unfortunately we can't hear one irl because the only 2 remaining Stukas are later models that got rid of the siren
6:46 "I don't know if you guys can see it, but it's freezing cold"
Sad the plane crashed but the footage of the bomb dropping and plane crash was epic. 👍
14:06 hearing Josh yell “Good Lord!” Made the entire video. This is why these guys have the best videos. Pure entertainment!
Rudel and co. Were still udon them as tank busters with the 37mm mounted cannons
I don’t want this to sound negative but that siren sounded terrible. Sorry
@MarcussV he meant that it didn't sound like the actual siren

Real Fun fact: The B-1 was also fitted with "Jericho trumpets", essentially sirens driven by propellers with a diameter of 0.7 m (2.3 ft) mounted on the wing's leading edge directly forward of the landing gear, or on the front edge of the fixed main gear fairing.
The siren on the Stuka wasn’t actually powered. It was tiny hollow propellers with tiny holes in it and that was how the screeching sound was made.
You need air brakes to slow down without them you will gain speed uncontrollably and rip the plane apart if you pull up

Enemy: oh a Stuka free kill nice!
Me: 6 20mm in his face
:)
The Stuka’s cockpit actually has a glass window just forward of where the pilot sat, letting him look at the ground and line up on targets without rolling the aircraft
The film showing the Stuka's roll were just propaganda films. The Stuka didn't really roll before diving.
