- Using my favorite vintage Collins Legitimus Connecticut pattern axe to fell a tree.
Cutting firewood the old way to practice axemanship and keep this skill alive.
its damn fine cardio as well😉
A job well done, sir. The video, the restoration, the chopping methodologies and pace, excellent...
looks like a well setup axe.
i'm still working on getting myself a decent condition conneticut.
nice clean axe work and good to see you managed to retain a hinge on it. Shame you're not in the UK!
Keep turning out vids please! the more real axe content out there the better!
That connie is my baby, with all of the cool and unique axes I have, its the one I always reach for.
Thanks for watching!
Nice axe work. Smooth and accurate. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
You are seriously my hero! Keep it up Dude!
Wow, I dont know what to say to that, but I'll definitely keep goin!
first few strikes i wondered what he was doing. LOL. Shows what I know, he was marking the cut. Well done. Dropped nicely
Sweet axe. Nice cross wedging. Also nice clean face cut. I don’t know how much it matters with small trees, but it’s what I like to see.
i'd consider that a fair sized tree and it's definitely important to get your face cut clean and accurate if you want something that size to come down with any control.
I don’t disagree
I see you!

Lol quit following me. Jk. We all seem like bees homing in on new axe content. Lol
@@elemental4rce i always looked at it like this,
If the tree is big enough to kill me or do serious damage, I better take the time to do the job right so I know where its gunna go.
On a side not, I was surprised my holding wood mostly broke after it fell. Odd for such stringy wood.
Love it! Nice job!
Thanks Killer, never workin when your doing something you love!
Well done. Nice notch. Good control.
hello . continue with the videos. / I'm from Brazil . /
That notch was almost perfect
Nice work. Gotta love those Connecticut's
Its my favorite fullsize axe for sure!
can you imagine the early european settlers having to do this to clear the land for farmland all by hand then they had to get a beast of burden to help pull out the stump from the ground the early Settlers had to be STRONG AF!
Awesome Matt!
Hey sailor

Esse homem é um lenhador de verdade, mas o machado é uma obra prima

Excellent video with a lot of things to learn. The axe also seems nice. What weight is it?
Thank you! The axe is a Collins Legitimus Connecticut with a head weight just under 3 1/2#
Good job cool video !
Nice chop!
Awesome sauce!
Thanks Nick!
Nice work.
John!!!!! Hi!
Thank you Mr Gibbons!
Hieno video!
Kiitos Juho!
What is the handle length on that beauty?
Its a 28" that started off as a House Handle Co baseball bat.
It seems the originals were on a 28 as well
👉🌪️👍🏻🥃
There were plenty of fallen trees to test cut ur axe, can't see the reason why u had to cut down a live tree.
The axe is nice tho.
This was not test cutting.
It was felling a tree, one of many that were part of a selective harvest.
Thanks for watching!
