Do you need the new 1s bulbs or can you use the old existing colour bulbs? I don't feel like buying 4 new bulbs and 2 strips just for this haha. When using the connector software it doesn't see any devices have a feeling it's not going to be compatible but can't actually find any info.
I'm not sure if it's still helpful, but you definitely need the 1S (color) variant.
If you look at their site, it specifically says chroma support. But only with 1S lamps and strips.
en.yeelight.com/product/819.html
Do note that ONLY the color variant has support for it.
White lamps/strips/everything else does NOT support chroma.
@@Bannanas94 Yeah they have since put out this info at the time there was nothing and this channel doesnt exactly engage with its comment section etc haha
Meter-thick walls? That’s badass! That would do for the tornadoes here I. Alabama.
Hi James, thank you for showing us off. The Yeelight products can finally be integrated into razer synapse, which is good news!
Greetings from Germany!
The issue that i have is that Razer Synapse detects my led strip but if I want to apply any effect nothing happen :(
are you using the quick efffects tab, or chroma studio? Studio is tricky, but you need to save each time/ It could also be the connectivity is bad, even if it's detected. Does changing the color in Yeelight app work responsively?
@@MakeUseOfyes I have a good connection. But after a lot of attempts it shows a "Unreachable" message.
I would try making a separate network for 2.4Ghz only. It sounds like it's having dual-band Wi-Fi problems.
@@MakeUseOf i fix the unreachable error, but still doesnt work at all, and in the Yeeligth Connector when I hit "Preview" the light works fine. I dont know why it doesnt work with razer synapse
@@diegocifuentes9671 Hey i need your help, i have the very same issue, have you figured it out?
It's dumb. You got to have synapse and the yeelight connect app open at all time or it won't work.
Question. Do i need wifi on my PC? Becaue my PC online has cable
Tanks for ure help
No, just need to be on the same network. As long as your Wi-fi and regular ehternet isn't isolated, you're fine. Try pinging your phone from your pc, or vice versa
yes they should... but they dont
So if my PC is connected via ethernet, will the Yeelight Chroma Connector not detect the bulbs because the PC is not connected to the Wi-Fi? If so then that explains why I'm not able to see the devices on the Yeelight Chroma Connector program on the PC.
That's how I have mine set up and it's fine - wouldn't want my gaming PC on Wi-Fi. They should work fine, but it depends if your router is isolating the networks. That's not normal, but some routers do it for security. Everything inside your home shoudl be on the same subnet (if you know IP addresses, check they're in the same format, like 192.168.1* or 10.0.0.*)
Also, check your bulbs have "LAN Control" enabled. You need to click on each bulb, then the settings. It's not on by default. And ensure you're on the latest firmware, when these bulbs arrived I had to update all of them.
@@MakeUseOf Yeah Lan control is enabled. I need to look into this router netgear ac1750 if it's isolating anything. Thanks!
Great video.
I have a question.
I've purchased Yeelight lightStrip S1 - i succeeded in setting it to react to what is on screen.
my question is, is yeelight light strip can provide specific color to specific part of the screen. like if there's a yellow part on top left screen and red on the bottom right corner.. is there an option to configure part of the light stip to display one side edge on the screen?
Yes - but only ALL of your yeelights. Right now, even if you had three strips, they'd all be presented as one block in the Razer software, and you could only assign them all to one part of the screen. In the Razer Chroma Studio, when you set it as dynamic, you should see something on the right hand side, at the top, where you can tell it which bit of screen to read from. The default is all, but you can also set one of the sides, or even a custom area.
@@MakeUseOf Thank you!!
Thank you for the video. How do you set up the ambilight function?
Assuming you've added the Yeelight to your Chroma setup, head into Chroma studio, select the yeelight connector, then add a layer of "AMBIENT AWARENESS", and delete/disable any other active layers. Set it to whole screen or a specific segment in the top left of the config.
@@MakeUseOf Thank you so much. It is working :)
Can somebody help me? I couldn't see my yeelight lights in the chroma connector app. Lan control enabled, connected to the router's wifi, everything is updated.
@Typh no
Same issue, nothing seems to work.. Guess the hue light is still worth it more lol
Did you enable LAN control? It's not on by default. Go to each bulb , settings page, toggle on LAN control.
@@MakeUseOf I did, tried a lot of things. Doesn't work. Looking at all the comments on video's about Razer + Yeelight you can see a lot of people are having issues.
@@MakeUseOf Already did that.
I have done everything but still i cant get my lightstip to work... for example in Outlast 2 my keyboard changes colors but the lightstrip does not... pls help
Is the Yeelight connector app running, and does it detect the lightstrip? If not, are they both on the same network? Does the Yeelight mobile app have your strip added, setup, and enabled for network control?
Will there be a chroma extension and razer chroma download for Mac? I'd love to use this feature where the screen and yeelight light bar pro sync up, but it seems the software is only available for PC...
I doubt it, Macs don't get a lot of gaming action (I say that as a Mac user). Philips Hue works though via the Hue Sync app.
@@MakeUseOf what a bummer - the functionality is useful for so much more than gaming. Maybe the Razer Chroma RGB app will add the Yeelight Pro Light Bar eventually (since right now they only have two options for two specific razer headphones - what a waste of an app with tons of functionality).
Hi, will a usual RGB work for that or will I need a fancy RGBW or RGBCCT strip for that?
It's a specific Yeelight strip that it works with, not any random LED striplight.
@@MakeUseOf okay thanks I wasnt' sure wether Yeelight only had RGB strips or also other kind of strips😊
To use just the strips on my pc, is any other hardware needed or just the strips?
It works off Wi-Fi, so no hub or anything else needed, no.
Thanks for the review..thank you
Do you remember when I said two keyboards for both hands? Specialized hand modified keyboards can't remember the name of the product
Azeron?
Hi, i did set up everything but i have an issue. The color on my screen doesn t match my 1S.. i have no idea why. I did select awareness environment and selected the whole screen and the color does change randomly. Can you please make a video for how to set up exactly what to do ? =( Thanks a lot
That sounds correct, to be honest. Reach out to Yeelight support and include a video if you can?
@@MakeUseOf Good evening, It does work now but the color doesn t change instantly... I would say it takes about 3 to 5 sec between the color of the screensaver and another color. It might come from the wifi but the box is pretty close to my computer and i do not have the same issue as you with your place. My computer is on wire. For you it does change quickly ? Thank you :)
Quick enough, yeh. It sounds like you have a delay from the Wi-fi, but its the kind of thing that would be impossible to pinpoint. Signal strength, reouter configuration etc...
Hi, how is it with strips and turning the monitor on/off? Is that also linked to the strips, or do I have to turn them on/off each time? Thank you so much
They're not linked to the monitor, but should only activate with Razer Chroma software, so if you shut down your PC, that should turn them off.
Do I have to be connected to wifi on my computer whilst gaming in order to make the chroma work? I'd much rather game on cable.
No, you just need to be on the same subnet. Some people have had issues where their router is setup to isolate the wired and wireless for some reason, so be sure to check first if you can currently ping .. say, your phone, from your pc.
@@MakeUseOf Thanks I will try to do that!
does the yeelight work on the hue app?
No.
anyone here having issue getting the Chroma Connector to detect the lightstrip? all the prerequisites has been done but the strip wont just get detected :(
Things to check: firmware upgrade - should be 2.06_0013 (click on the light, then the funny eject button in the bottom left, then firmware upgrade). Also toggle LAN control off and on again (same place), and power cycle the lightstrip.
@@MakeUseOf appreciate the response, I seem to have the same firmware version and already toggled the Lan Control & power cycle the strip. Still not detected.
Do you have some bulbs too that _are_ working, or is it just the lightstrip? If it's just the strip, it might be a networking issue. Check your router config page to find the IP address of the lightstrip, and see if you can ping it from your windows machine. It's possible your Wi-Fi is kept separate from wired portion, which would stop them communicating.
@@MakeUseOf I'm not able to ping the IP from my PC, I can see that my strip is connected to 2.4 while my desktop is connected to 5ghz ~ could that be the reason?
Bingo. Your router may be isolating those networks so they can't talk to each other. Look for a setting called Wireless isolation, AP Isolation, Station Isolation, or Client Isolation. Disable it, restart things, and they should be able to see each other again.
A giveaway? Bruh they so cheap nobody needs it
Hah, fair point, feel free to not get some free stuff, mr Richie Rich!
buy me one then rmdhn
very nice video.. small question.. what is the fluidic screensaver that you have?
I don't think I run a screensaver... do you have a time reference in the video? Might just be the default MacOS one I guess?
@MUO at 6:57, I'm also interested to know
Yeelights + iCUE?
Hmm, interesting, never heard of that one, but no, there is integration for that nor have Yeelight ever indicated it would be on the cards in future.
