I bought this kit plus the 4 extensions years ago since my dryer run vents to my roof (22ft). The first time I cleaned it I removed a shop vac full of lint. Every homeowner should own one of these. I clean it twice a year.
Its recommended to clean every 2 years, but more the merrier I suppose.
I am a single woman that appreciates videos like this!
We don't have dryer vent but my 8month old baby and I just watched this video from start to finish together lol
Hands down the best DIY channel on RUclips!
Appreciate that
I bought this when it first came out and it works great. I usually tightly clamp a garbage bag to the dryer end and come at it from the outside. We clean the dryer screen after every load as well. Always best not to use the “corrugated” aluminum vents as the indentations trap lint like crazy.
All great tips
My thinking is that you need at least a small piece of corrugated because the dryer vibrates so much when it’s doing it’s job. The corrugated will flex while a solid may come off easier.
@@kevinsturges466 Hi Kevin. I have not had that issue at all. I fasten the pipe elbow to the dryer outlet "tube" with a sheet metal screw. I have a 16 year old Maytag Dryer and there really is little vibration transmitted to the pipe. I do use steel els not the aluminum ones . They are much sturdier. The straight pipe lengths can be either.
Good idea. Thnx.
Oh geez, another thing I gotta do!
That list keeps growing Aaron! LOL
Thank You Shannon... I have seen them in the stores & now I can see how well it works!! Keep up the good work!
You are so welcome!
I put my leaf blower into the vent and it does a really good job I tried to do it twice per year
Interesting, ty.
I’ve done the same for a few years and blow quite a bit of dust out
Genius!! Thank you!
I just take the duct off and duct tape it to my butt flush up against both loafs and rip a strudel through it
Wow cool idea
Great video on this. I have the kit but forgot to use it and will break it out in the next few weeks, luckily I have a small, easy run.
I have had this cleaning device for quite a few years now and finally, after watching this video, I will actually put it it to work. Wearing a mask couldn't hurt either. I also want to get the duct cover you pulled off the outside wall .... much better system than what I have. Thanks, eh!!
Great vid Shannon
Thanks again for a very informative video I would love to see how you clean out that bathroom vent duct and the vent itself actually...... thanks again
This same tool can be used on the duct and you can remove and wash the fan cover, and vacuum and or blow out the fan motor.
Cool tool man thank you for sharing
Thank you!
Great vid like always! Thanks
Thanks for the reminder, videos are good and have been using your tips n tricks for a bit.
Great to hear!
Thanks!
I am surprised that the brush works that well. I definitely need to get one of those kits. Thanks for sharing this video for sure Mr. Shannon
It does!
Great video. Thanks.
You been on here for a while 😅 but good vid 🔥
Luv this dudes Canadian accent.
If you add a secondary lint trap close to your dryer, it will greatly reduce the amount of lint in the duct.
Hmmm, interesting, good idea. I live in a rental & goodness gracious have no idea what amount of lint would be in the ductwork. Currently the weather is not conducive to working outside so it will probably have to wait to see if it gets a bit warmer or will just half to wait till next year.
Does an awesome job 👍
Thank you.. new subscribers
Thanks for this! Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
lol! Easy peasy compared to mine! 12' of the corrigated, under a trailer, 2' of cramped crawl space!! 😩
Thanks. 👍🏻
please tell me the socks you are wearing were found behind the dryer when you pulled it out
I do see how the brush can help
Shannon i have been subscribed to your channel for a long time. You are always doing something that helps or interests me. I am glad you are doing so well on YT. Thanks for watching!
Awesome! Great video! You've shamed me into cleaning mine, now. :-D
What would you do if the vertical vent actually goes all the way to the roof and has a reduced outlet that is part of the roofing job, that can't be removed? Just go in from the bottom and go as far as you can? Or what? Thanks.
Yes go from the end you can access and use extra extensions .
Could you add the link to buy the brush? Thanks a lot!
In the description
I have had times ware I said screw it, and replaced the vent. Lol sometimes it's easier, less time involved.
exactly what I did, but it wasn't easy, just not as messy! 😜
Great video! This would be really helpful if my dryer didn't vent right into the garage :(
My dryer vents to under my deck
Could this be used to clean heating ducts ?
Its a little small for anything over 5" but it would do a decent job
@@HouseImprovements thanks 👍
I think you hit on a million (US) dollar idea... a wire brush spun by airflow from a vacuum cleaner hose.
Ill take my cut from you after you invent it please.
@@HouseImprovements 80/20 but I won't take a penny less than 20.
,👍👍❤️❤️
I use my milwaukee leaf blower, there isn't anything left in the ducting after that. Your gizmo does do a good job as well.
Me too … works great!
👍👍👍
Almost worth cutting a permanent vacuum port into the dryer duct.
That would be cool if the duct had an easy access clean out for the vac and the brush. My Lint Eater Pro kit came with a fitting that a vac can attach to.
Where did you get this from?
Ty for sharing this I am going to buy two of them.
I have a link for it in the description under the video .
