    I bought this kit plus the 4 extensions years ago since my dryer run vents to my roof (22ft). The first time I cleaned it I removed a shop vac full of lint. Every homeowner should own one of these. I clean it twice a year.

    I bought this when it first came out and it works great. I usually tightly clamp a garbage bag to the dryer end and come at it from the outside. We clean the dryer screen after every load as well. Always best not to use the “corrugated” aluminum vents as the indentations trap lint like crazy.

      @kevinsturges466 2 года назад +1

      My thinking is that you need at least a small piece of corrugated because the dryer vibrates so much when it’s doing it’s job. The corrugated will flex while a solid may come off easier.

    • @rzh3443
      @rzh3443 2 года назад

      @@kevinsturges466 Hi Kevin. I have not had that issue at all. I fasten the pipe elbow to the dryer outlet "tube" with a sheet metal screw. I have a 16 year old Maytag Dryer and there really is little vibration transmitted to the pipe. I do use steel els not the aluminum ones . They are much sturdier. The straight pipe lengths can be either.

    If you add a secondary lint trap close to your dryer, it will greatly reduce the amount of lint in the duct.

  • @robertadriver6931
    @robertadriver6931 2 года назад

    Hmmm, interesting, good idea. I live in a rental & goodness gracious have no idea what amount of lint would be in the ductwork. Currently the weather is not conducive to working outside so it will probably have to wait to see if it gets a bit warmer or will just half to wait till next year.

    What would you do if the vertical vent actually goes all the way to the roof and has a reduced outlet that is part of the roofing job, that can't be removed? Just go in from the bottom and go as far as you can? Or what? Thanks.
