Really good and informative this time. I like the different learning views. Slowmo part, live part, what you can train for your self part, great things from all perspective. Nice work mate!!!
Great job as always Sandy! I can speak both English and Spanish fluently and I have to tell you your videos are way better than many other Spanish-speaking ones. The quality is also constantly improving, with real match situations. Please keep up the good work and muchas gracias for these videos! :-)
Can I just add my thanks and appreciation for your superb series of videos? I play a lot of padel in Fuerteventura, having been a county-level badminton player back in the UK (no-one plays badminton here!), and despite having had coaching to get to a competitive level there is so much more to this fabulous game. I have picked up lots of little ‘nuggets’ from your tutorials which I have been able to use as I improve my play and begin to challenge the long-term locals. English or Spanish, your series of videos are the best I have come across by far - many thanks!
Thank you, I am glad you find the videos useful! Converting from Badminton? I've had a few like that...hope your padel isn't too wristy! ha. Its a great game and I hope you pick nuggets up from everywhere to improve your game :)
Thanks. As a new player this was the thing I was most unsure about. The vibora with the bent elbow is the natural stroke for me but I wasn't sure if I could use it defensively or if I should focus on the chest-stroke. This video answers my question :)
Hi Sandy! Really love your videos. I'm a lefty, so I was wondering if you could do one that explains the difference in tactics when your partner/opponent is a lefty. Not so many lefties out there, but still some things to consider when playing with/against one. Thanks
This is a video I am working on. I was waiting to do the video with a leftie coach/player to illustrate, but as I don't know when that will be I will plan to do it soon!
Hi Sandy! Thanks for all these great videos, I love watching them! I have a question about one of the rules. In tennis, if you hit the ball twice it's okay as long as it's in one swing. Is this not the case in padel? Is it immediately considered faulty if it touches my racket twice, even if it's all in one swing?
Thank you Sandy! Do you typically as a go to always aim your Bandeja (and Vibora) to the cross court corner when not aiming for the middle? When playing left side, I am unsure if I should aim my Bandeja (and Vibora) to the left or right corner (when not aiming down the middle which I also really like to create spaces in the sides). Looking at your videos, it looks like you aim those shots cross court, but I don't think I have the reasoning behind choosing the right corner. Many thanks in advance!

I like the mix of explaining and showing in gameplay. Good stuff. If i'm lobbed and the defender steps in, i like to use the second technique cross-court because i'm able to generate more side spin. That way the ball picks up speed when it bounces on the side glass and passes the defender more quickly. Would you consider that a bandeja or is that something else? (since it's more agressive)
Michel Raveyts this is what makes it difficult to define exactly a bandeja and a vibora...in my opinion if you’re using it to gain court position back to net then it’s a bandeja, if you’re hitting it more aggressively with the view to finishing the point on that ball or the next id classify it as a Vibora. But it’s a bit of a grey area haha
Hi Sandy! I'm revisiting your bandeja videos trying to perfect my shot. Any thoughts regarding whether or when should we jump when executing the bandeja? Should we only jump if we're behind or late to the shot? thanks for sharing so many useful information!
Hi Sandy, great video thx! Question: what is the technical difference then between the 2nd bandeja and a vibora? If its only the speed isnt it a vibora? Gtz!
@@ThePadelSchool Thx for your answer! But in the video you say that with the 2nd bandeja 'you use more your arm as a throwing action'. So, whats the difference between that bandeja and a vibora?
This is the discussion on the video. Is a slow slice smash still a vibora? The (Spanish) terminology for these smashes are contentious...bandeja is usually hit with the chest, you are right, but it is also a "defensive smash" which you would consider the slow slice smash aswell. In the video, was just explaining this defensive smash could be hit both ways!
The 2nd shot looks like a vibora... what's the difference there compared to a vibora? (see this video of yours with an example of a vibora ruclips.net/video/j1yVDqYhOAI/видео.html) edit. ok, so only difference is a slower racquet head speed in the bandeja (even though the racquet path is similar)? bit confusing, but ok...
This is what is confusing about the terminology in padel...theoretically a bandeja is a defensive smash using the chest as the prime mover and a vibora is an attacking slice smash using the arm. But then is a slow, defensive smash where you use the arm a vibora or a bandeja? In this video I am categorizing the bandeja as a defensive smash...(I know others might do it differently)
@@ThePadelSchool Thanks for the reply (and the videos you put out). It's a bit confusing to me that pretty much the same _motion_ could be named differently. Like saying a slow paced defensive slice (in tennis) would be a slice, but a pacier offensive slice (= faster racket head speed) would be something else. Makes things slightly confusing IMO. But I do get the defensive vs. offensive distinction somewhat. That a bandeja tends to have more margin and less pace in general.

Hi Sandy, great video thx! Question: what is the technical difference then between the 2nd bandeja and a vibora? If its only the speed isnt it a vibora? Gtz!
Bandeja you use the chest as the primer mover and keep the arm relatively straight. Vibora power comes from more rotation and elbow extension!
@@ThePadelSchool Thx for your answer! But in the video you say that with the 2nd bandeja 'you use more your arm as a throwing action'. So, whats the difference between that bandeja and a vibora?
